The grocer specialises in ready made meals, and although we didn't buy any on this visit, they did sound/look good and decent value considering the location.

There was also a small selection of grocery items and fruit and veg, but the thing that excited us the most was the selection of Australian products available - always exciting for us ex-pats! Not one, but three flavours of Tim Tams, chocolate bars, Vita Wheats, Nutra Grain and more. We stocked up on a few "essentials" and now know where to shop next time we get a craving that only a Caramel Tim Tam with satisfy.

Deli-licious! by belinda

Review by belinda

Rating: 5.00
Tags:
The Grocer on Elgin is a mix of cafe at the back and deli/shop at the front. They have wonderful bread and pastries (get in early for the chocolate croissants) and a fantastic range of ready prepared meals - makes Marks & Sparks look like Tescos!

They make (in my opinion) the best pizza ever and have a great selection of hot pies, breakfast rolls and quiche to name a few of their tasty treats.

They also stock (Aussie and Kiwis take note) a selection of treats like Twisties, Tim Tams, Mint Slices, Vita Weets and lots more.

I love this place and my only problem with it is that they often run out of what I want!

Their website state: The Grocer ready made meals and products are hand made using fresh and seasonal ingredients from small artisan producers and quality suppliers. Our chefs have created easy to prepare meals and preserves for cooking and enjoying at home. No artificial preservatives, flavourings, colouring. GMO free.
