This is one of those great bars that normal, real people go to - unlike much of the competition that is either hideous inside, filled with pretentious types or both. The interior is cool, the food is well priced and the bar staff generally really friendly. The happy hour cocktails make for good times - buy one, get a second for a £1 makes it the obvious choice when drinking with a friend. Keston Lodge is the place to be on Sundays with the papers and a hungover - lovely bar, lots of leather sofas and booths and a little garden hidden at the back. Exposed piperwork, raw concrete, Persian carpets and three decorative Christmas trees announce that Keston Lodge is not a traditional pub. The daily-changing food is good (would particularly recommend Sunday roast) and the bar stuff are usually quick and friendly. It has a good selection of wines, draught beer and they also do some interesting cocktails.
