I absolutely love this place. It satisfies so many options. The cafe along the water always has some nice food, the cinema some great films showing, the library just a nice quiet place to browse and read, then every night there is theatre, or orchestras, or exhibitions of world class quality. I came here to see the Viktor and Rolf exhibition, which was fantastic and informative. The staff were good, giving us any free leaflets, activity sheets going (even though we're far too old). As per usual photography wasn't allowed, but there were a few images of the clothes on postcards. A lot of the stuff in the shop was expensive but that's to be expected. Anyway, the venue was perfect for this kind of exhibiton and the pieces were shown off at their best, accompanied with fashion shows on video. Very nice venue. I went to see Dave Brubeck perform here twice, they were amazing concerts and the Barbican carried the sound well and the seats were comfortable. It is only a short walk from the Barbican tube station and there is a blue line on the pavement ⬠all you have to do is to follow it. If there was another concert I was interested in going to see here I wouldnâ¬"t hesitate in buying tickets (price permitting of course). Along with the national theatre & south bank centre, this is one of the best and most beautiful arts complexes in London. I long to live there, and have spent many a long hour following the yellow line to the centre and sitting in the paradise of a water park.

Recently, I saw Joanna Newsom play here and it was one of the most beautiful and startling concerts I have ever been to. She's got such power in her voice! Sorry, this is supposed to be about The Barbican...

I've had a few good meals here - the balcony bistro is very good, but as with all arts centres, quite expensive. The food was gorgeous though, and there was a good selection of wines.

Forthcoming events include Complicite's new devised piece of theatre in September, which I reckon will be one of the most astonishing things that'll ever grace a stage. Definitely something to look forward to.

There's a Cinema, amazing Library (massive number of CDs and music scores), exhibitions and a tropical garden. oh and a drawbridge.

A wonderful, magical place.
