When if I was doing my exam revision in Crouch End library, I needed a visit to a coffee shop to get myself a cup of coffee and a piece of cake to wake me up and load my batteries for the rest of the day. It did not take much time or long way of walk as I had thought before, two minutes walk from the clock tower I have found my self in a place full of varieties of food, cakes , coffees, teas as well as my favourite cake which is mille feille ,all served in an artistic way. Simply, to me it was not a shop or a coffee place it was like a petit museum where you find the art of North African, Meditteranean and British pastries brought to you in a place called COFFE CAKE. Therefore, I thank all coffee cake family for the good reception, their sense of humour and their sharing of lovely moments, BEN, RACHEL, ELIAS , FIFI, I am definitely planning to visit the place again and recommend it to everyone to visit and enjoy unforgettable moments in a friendly coffee shop, in a lovely area called CROUCH END

I recently moved to larger home in Crouch End, having lived previously in a small flat in Hampstead and one of the deciding factors in the move for both me and my wife was this friendly and welcoming cafe. The owner, Ali, remembered our names on just our second visit and took a lot of trouble to help us and even spent some time giving us advice about the area. Although the food, especially the pastries, are excellent and a good enough reason to go in itself, the cafe seems to serve equally as a sort of friendly social club as whenever we pop in, we always seem to be meeting friends and neighbours. They also serve cakes ( a little too nice if you're on a diet), soup, bread, salmon quiche and probably a lot more that I've forgotten. I was visiting a friend in Crouch End last week and was amazed by how the whole area has changed and nothing exemplified this more than this wonderful cafe which served much nicer pastries and cakes even than I had last summer when I visited Paris. The welcome was warm, the service fast and efficient and there was a wide choice of fresh home made breads, salads, cakes, quiches, pastries and coffees. I read the previous view and was suprised by the comments as I came in wheeling a large suitcase and smaller bags and the door was immediately opened for me and there was really loads of space around the tables. The owner, who's name is Ben, came over and asked if I was happy with the service and food. All the pastries and cakes are obviously prepared by real professionals and freshly made. The bill when it came gave me ample change from five pounds and all things considered, I wouldn't know really how to criticize the cafe. don't go here if you have a pram. despite the fact that the place was 2/3 empty at 11.30 last Friday morning my friend was turned away at the door with her newborn twins. There was loads of room and some people by the door even offered to move when they saw that she was being told that her pram was too big. I have been to coffee cake in Crouch End, and I had a lunch. I did not have anything in particular to eat. So the manager Mr. Ben had suggested for me a dish for a sporty people. The food was lovely, healthy, and the atmosphere was fabulous, and enjoyable. Also the staff were helpful, and friendly especially lady called Rachel, and Fifi. It is a family business.
