Review by Sapphire12

Rating: 4.00
Tags:
My partner and I first discovered this restaurant when we tried to go to Zagora a few doors down but they were booked for a party. We've since returned a few times, which is a good review in itself!

We usually go for the set menu (about £13 for two courses and £16 for three). I always have the same starter - mushrooms cooked in cheese in a little pot, which is always yummy.

For main, I've had the chicken and spicy sausages a couple of times, which is always lovely but far too filling - I usually have to donate most of my chicken to my partner half way though. Its not posh or complicated food, but hearty and tasty. The paella is also good, and my partner's favourite is the beef in a pepper sauce - he absolutely loves it and chooses it ever time! We always get the potato gratin on the side, very tasty if not exactly healthy...

You can take your own wine, which always helps on the cost front. The service is always pleasant and friendly, if not speedy. There are a number of mixed or bad reviews on the internet about this place, but we have always found it excellent and a lovely meal out, despite the less than scenic surroundings!
