I went with a party of 16 people, so that required us to put down a deposit of £5 per head when the booking was made. Food was nice but there was quite a wait for it. We weren't sure if it was due to the size of the party or if they usually take that long anyway. I've been going to Chez Jules for quite a few years now and it's one of my favourite places to meet friends for lunch and a catch up.

It's just off New Street in Birmingham city centre. The exterior is attractive and inviting.

The staff have always been friendly when I've been there, and there's quite a few good looking waiters, which helps...

I always go for the set meal special offers, which are very good value. A two course lunch is £7.95, then an early dinner from 5 to 7pm is £10. There is a choice of about three main courses and starters.

I especially like the dauphnoise potatoes, they are so creamy. The portions are a generous size. I usually have fish or chicken, and it's lovely. No-one has ever complained about the food and we've all been pleased.

Chez Jules has a good selection of wines on offer.

The only criticism I can make is that the wooden benches are not very comfortable. But I keep coming back here and have been here for birthday meals and special occasions.
