The menu is broad-ranging and somewhat eclectic. I had an excellent salad and
a macaroni cheese - my host opted for fishcakes. The service is always courteous but can be a bit slow. Yesterday, I was offered a pasta dish off the menu when
the maitre d thought erroneously that I was a vegetarian.
It is very cosy being located underground below London's Strand and perhaps a better winter location.
The clientele seems to be mainly young professionals.

Not much to add to the other reviews here; except to say: If you come here, put your bloody mobile phone away. They're banned under the club rules and I've now heard enough Nathan Barleys braying about imbecilic hipster crap to last me a lifetime, thanks.

I agree with what he says. This is a truly private member's club. You cannot find it if you don't know about it. From outside, it looks like the entrance to a flat. I was lucky to be invite a couple of times by my cousin who is a member and I have to confirm that the place is great.
I plead guilty to DJing a very very cheesy French fancy-dress party some years back in the room downstairs. The shear memories make me cringe&&.

As Rob says, if you get the chance, go. The people are beautiful, the staff are gorgeous and friendly, the atmosphere is relaxing and unpretentious. The drinks are a tad expensive but the portions are generous.

The staff are all gorgeous and polite the drinks are spot on (a touch pricey - but come on folks check the postcode!), the wine list's extensive, the food sort of gastro school dinners (butter based and great - soups and fish and meat a speciality) and still 2 courses for £10 (this was a 'special' run in January and still going in September...).

Membership is targetted at the freelancer or entrepreneur who needs a base in London as such the membership is quite cool. However there have been more and more pompous suit creeping in recently and Abi sodding Titmus was there recently - damn her. I don't go to China Whites so she shouldn't come down my club. You've been warned Titmus! That goes for you Theakston, and you Halliwell!

As a member you have free use of the library for quiet work (internet access etc) and the leather sofa-ed bar is great for businesscas' meetings. A great combo for work/pleasure and good value.

The theatre also hosts loads of things like comedy nights (free to members - inaccessible to non-members) Reginald D Hunter trialled some new material here (check him out if you ever get the chance - he holds an audience spell-bound)

Find someone who is a member and get down there. But don't you dare bring any former member of Take That and if I even sniff a Big Brother contestant I will not be responsible for my actions.
