A lovely restaurant. I ate here twice recently, dinner for two in the evening, then a celebration lunch for 9 people. On both occassions the food was superb: freshly cooked and beautifully presented. The staff are friendly and efficient and eager to please. It's not cheap in the evening but the set price lunch is great value. I used to work on Poole Quay and the Custom House was one of my favourite places to go for lunch. You can either go here for lunch or dinner, upstairs or downstairs. It's lovely here on a summers afternoon, sitting outside next to the quay, although it can get very busy and if you want to sit outside sometimes you have to wait for a table. There's always room inside, and the staff are lovely. Portions are a really good size for lunch or dinner. My favourite was always the chicken wrap, a huge wrap with veggies, chicken and toasted cheese drizzled over. It's also a great place to go for a drink after work, or for a special evening meal. The Customs House is one of my favourite restaurants in Poole and I have been more times than I can count. It is located right on the quay and boasts lovely views of the sea from the restaurant. When you first enter the restaurant you are instantly hit with the lovely décor and decadent surroundings. It is a perfect choice for a special occasion or very romantic meal as it is quite expensive.

The service is outstanding and staff are very attentive. The menu changes every week and you have the option of two courses for £27.50 with an extra course at £5.95. You get a choice of starters, mains & desserts. There is an excellent selection of fish/seafood for the fish lovers out there and also the most amazing steaks I think I have ever tried and is normally what I end up eating! The steaks can come with a choice of sauces, my favourite being the Port & Stilton sauce which is a perfect accompaniment to the steak. The mains come with a selection of vegetables and potatoes.

If you have room for dessert I would recommend their Crème Bruleeâ¬"s as they are delicious.
