I love Tropical World, I used to go a lot when I was a kid and the big kid in me still finds his way to Tropical World.

I like to have a wander round and kill some time. The Meerkat enclosure is fantastic and they are fascinating to watch.

ooooh how i love this place, absolutely fantastic.
year after year it never gets boring, i have been lots of times growing up, and have taken my son twice, highly reccomended on a nice warm day out, great fun, beautiful free animals.

I love tropical world. It's like stepping out of yorkshire for a few hours and into a magical place where there's a constantly changing climate that goes from warm to toasty!

There's enough there to keep kids and big kids like me bobbing about smiling with joy. First off you get some insecty things, which seem like a letdown until you pass through the floor-to-ceiling blinds and into the tropical zone. Butterflies flutter about while the biggest carp you'll ever see swim around ducks and turtles.

Then there's some fancier fish, Meerkats, a night zone with some nocturnal animals (they're on a different lighting clock so they're up and about during the day).

Loads of fun for anyone and everyone, and a great date idea :)

Me and two of my house mates took a visit to tropical world one day when we were bored.

The fact it is basically in roundhay park is a great advantage because you can just lazy around in the park once you have been.

Overall the tropical world is ok, the main problem is it is a tropical world but so it is extremely hot alot of the animal tanks were empty but there were a few cute little animals like the mere cats.

I decided after hearing so many recommendations it was time to take the family along for a day out after living in Leeds for nearly 8 years I was embrassed that i'd never been. I had certainly been missing out too this place is great.

Really easy to find its signed posted all around Leeds

Parking is free which is great but the car park is quite a walk from the attraction for very young children so you might want to make sure you take a push chair.

We had to que to get in but it wasn't more than 5 mins waiting.

First we entered the butterfly house which was warm and humid. It is full of exotic plants and tree and it didnâ¬"t take long to spot a butterfly they are everywhere flying around and no remotely bothered by the visitors and fly really close to you. Its wonderful walking round it feels your a million miles away from the cold and wet weather you usually find in Leeds it a great place to escape for a few hours on a grim day.

Next we came to some rather large fish tanks which had huge fish in them they were seriously impressive I never seen anything like them before both adults and children where fascinated by them they certainly drew in the crowds.

The Nocturnal Zone was a bit of a disappoint for me I spent whole time worrying I would lose my son in the dark with the crowds and rushed through so my eyes didnâ¬"t get chance to adjust properly so I couldnâ¬"t spot anything but there is meant to be lots to see.

The Meerkat weren't there at our visit they were having a holiday where ever they were I hope they were having a good time.

Also there a gift shop and a cafe.
But as your in Roundhay park there are lots of lovely places to picnic outside.

Hereâ¬"s the address and opening times and prices the best bit is Leeds card holders get in free.
