Only OK for kids by natster

Review by natster

Rating: 2.00
Tags:
We went along on a weekday at 5:30pm and there were only a couple of other people there. The restaurant was waiting for a large group booking about an hour later and there was an undertone of getting us out quickly!
The children had a margherita pizza which was fine. Spaghetti polpette (meatballs)were pleasant. The insalata nicoise I had was OK, but the tuna was not as good quality as I have had elsewhere - it looked and tasted like the fish straight out of a tin.
Service was adequate. I would not visit again with young children - I didn't find the atmosphere very family friendly.

I remember I started going here a few years ago when Pizza Express was going downhill, and thinking that it was much better, but Pizza Express has revamped its menu since and so I do actually prefer it to Zizziâ¬"s now for pizzas. But for pastas and meat dishes I still think Zizzi is better, my favourite is the chicken with parma ham which is delicious. Richmond has a Strada, a Pizza Express and a Zizzi and I do find myself going to Zizzi least often of these three, but itâ¬"s still very nice.

Summer Tip - pizza on the green by Liss

My advice is to order a few of these with friends and take them to the green (30 second walk away) and enjoy the great outdoors and weather (after all we must make the most of it while it lasts!). I find this adds an extra 120% enjoyment compared to eating in Zizzi.

Zizzi - Italian pizza restaurant chain by sue

It feels slightly more up-market than the other similar chains, though I'm not sure I like their pizza's as much as Pizza Express. Service is generally fast and friendly, except at bill time of course.

The menu consists of mainly pizza and pasta, plus some healthier salad options. I always have pizza. My favourite is the Sofia Pizza, with Marinated chicken, pepperoni, bacon, mozzarella and tomato. My husband is partial to the Calzone, which is filled with Marinated chicken, meatballs, bolognese, mushrooms, chillies, mozzarella and tomato.

They have reasonably priced Italian wines and ok desserts if you've still got room.
