Reputedly Belfast's oldest building, 29-31 Queens Square is home to McHughs - a truly lovely pub and restaurant.

On the day we visited, it has been snowing. The snow had turned into a gray drizzle, so it was fantastic when we went in and spied the open fire burning away.

McHughs were doing a really great offer - Irish Stew and Guinness (it's the Morecambe and Wise of food partnerships!) for £5.95. The Guinness was delicious as usual and the Irish stew chunky and tasty - we felt very well fed by the end.

The staff, like in all the places we visited in Northern Ireland was friendly, the service was good and it was with a heavy heart that we left the warmth of McHughs, with the thought of our flight back home on our minds.
