Review by jennufcboss

Rating: 5.00
Tags: turkish, good value
This is a newly opened Turkish restaurant on Winchmore Hill Green. Myself and my partner visit this restaurant on average about once a fortnight, as it is extremely addictive! My family and local friends are also all converts to the Samdan cause!
Opting for the set meal deal provides excellent value for money and enough food even to fill greedy souls like myself. The first course is a mixture of cold mezze, with the highlight being the Cazik (or Tzatziki), which is the best I've ever tasted. The bread offered alongside these tasty dishes is always fresh, warm and delicious. But it's important not to fill up on bread and cold mezze (however tempting that may be!) as the following courses are equally good.

The second course consists of hot mezze, including halloumi, whitebait and calamari. The calamari is always cooked to perfection and not at all chewy - always a sign of a good chef!

The main course is a selection of meats - all cooked excellently, and perfectly balanced with light and fluffy rice, salad, and the most exquisite (and addictive!)chilli sauce. I have also been told the salmon option is excellent although have not been able to tear myself away from the meat platter yet!

The wine list is also good, and the restaurant staff are friendly, attentive and professional.

My recommendation is that you try this restaurant soon so that you can fit in as many visits as possible during your lifetime! I also recommend to book as far ahead as possible as it is a small restaurant and fills up very quickly.

See you there.
