It was expensive but the food and the staff were good. We were met at the door and they had our booking and took as to our table in a nice friendly way. We went for my boyfriends birthday so it was a special occasion and with a friend. I don't eat meat so the selection was small but the options were exicting and I was happy to try truffle oil for the first time. The waiter bought steaks to our table and explained each one which was good. And the boys enjoyed their choices.

The meat is cooked to perfection and exactly as ordered.

This is quite an expensive place to eat but the quality shines through. All side orders have to be added to the main course so can be quite expensive - we have found that we prefer to order and share three different sides between us rather than adding, say, potatoes and veg.

Well worth a visit - and having eaten at a couple more in the chain, I can vouch for consistency!

The food was actually incredible (on a table of 8, all 8 people were blown away by the taste of the steaks!).

Really, you have never experienced a good steak until you go to the Gaucho.

The service was also excellent. Highly attentive, but not pushy.

Highly recommended.

Probably best to skip lunch because its a lot of food. Our waiter was so lovely, and recommended the most delicious bottle of wine, it was a stunning meal and a very lovely evening.

Juicy Argentinian steaks by NikoTheFinn

Short of flying to Argentina, I am not sure it is possible to find better steaks in London (though I am very open to being proven wrong!). The Gaucho Grill on Chancery Lane serves up fat, juicy, giant Argentinian steaks, and very little else. If you order a steak, that is all you get - all sides are extra. They cook the suckers to perfection, exactly as I wanted it (I asked for it done "rare-to-medium-rare, with a touch more emphasis on rare", and that is how it came). The wine list is great too, and is naturally geared towards the full, rich reds that go so well with meat. This place is a carnivore's dream. Only downside: it's quite expensive. But worth every penny!
