I would recommend this kitchen-style local Chinese to anyone. Fast food as it should be: wholesome, flavoursome and cheap. Sit on high stools at counters and smile at the queue across the road for Wagamama where there eat worse for more and are uncomfortable into the bargain.

Here they serve mainly full plate meals rather than selection of dishes (although you can do either). This makes for speed and good portions.

Hot and sour soup is a real pick me up on a cold day. Dry-shredded chicken with noodles a tasty filler.

And 2 of you can always get in in my experience. Cheap and cheerful Chinese cafe/takeaway - really hits the spot if you're looking for a dose of uncomplicated comfort food. Gets fairly crowded at peak times (it's not exactly the world's largest place) but service is usually pretty quick.

The lingering suspicion remains that it might be simpler to just set up a drip filled with MSG straight into your veins, but let's face it - that's exactly what you want, isn't it?
