I absolutely love the hotel du vin. I was really shocked to find out about the fine from environmental health and am currently considering whether i should go back or not. The five star rating is on my previous experiences there and not based on this shocking news. The food has always been cooked to perfection. There isn't a huge choice on the menu and vegetarians probably won't be happy with the choice open to them. The bar is intimate and fantastic for dates, but not on a friday or saturday night as there is standing room only! The rooms are equally gorgeous and so luxurious you never want to leave. Unfortunately the prices are not cheap in the slightest!I absolutely love the hotel du vin. Considering its central location in a street behind the High Street in Winchester, this historic hotel is a haven of peace. With the benefit of private parking it is ideally situated for exloring the city and the surrounding area. Its central location does, however, involve negotiating the one-way system around the city and prior study of a map makes this easier to perform.The hotel has its own beautifully kept garden where guests can stroll and relax.
The bedrooms are of good size and all en-suite. Diners can choose from the main dining area in the conservatory overlooking the gardens or enjoy a range of bar snacks.
