The food at this place is amazing, I always go there or phone a takeaway in, as the food really is restaurant standard! Rating: 5.00this is the best indian restaurant I've been to up to now for three reasons...
1 - the staff are helpful and polite - I spoke to one of the guys about a really nice dish I had in another restaurant - and they started serving it here!

2 - the food is delish! - I am a curriaholic and like to try lots of different restaurants - but I will always return here as the food is top of the range!

3 - cheap! - I don't like the word cheap as it can often be synonymous with poor quality - so GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY is what I will say...

The venue was large, with a lovely sitting area and bar when you first enter the building. This area has lots of low sofas and looks very relaxed - a perfect way to allow the main room to be filled with tables. Through some double doors was the main reception room. It was very large, with a dance floor area that was also used for the buffet, and a raised DJ area, which was a lovely touch. There was also a small bar in the main room, selling just a couple of draught products and some bottles. There was a door leading from the main room to a plain but functional outdoor smoking area, and the room was decorated beautifully. Situate in a very central point of south shields on Marsden Road. Authentic chinese take-away, they deliver and are always very quick. Opening times are 6.00 which is good if you would like your take-away as a tea time meal. Whenever we go into the take-away they always surprise me with how quick they can have your order ready for you. With a huge choice on the menu of chinese and cantonese dishes I strongly recommend them. The staff are always friendly and thorough. I recommend the king to spicy dishes and the sweet and sour soup. This Subway chain is situated behind King street, which is the main shopping street in shields. The sandwiches are lovely and there is a lot of choice. Infact too many choices. The service is good but there are often queues as everyone gets asked their individual questions so this slows the pace considerably. The dining area itself is quite small but we've never had a problem getting a table as most people take their meals away. The foot long sandwich is on the expensive side but is very filling and as you get asked what you would like at every stage of the sandwich you know you're going to be very happy with your healthy sandwich.This Subway chain is situated behind King street, which is the main shopping street in shields. We have been going to Cafe India now for about 6 years and now it is our first choice for Indian food on ocean road, south shields. The decor is very modern which we like but the biggest thing is the authentic Indian food. The food is beautiful and we can never finish it as the portion sizes are large,the menu is extensive and they have a good variety of drinks on offer also. We recommend the shashlick chicken which comes out a sizzling plate or a good old lamb madras to satisfy your taste buds. The staff are very friendly and attentive.
Very busy on saturday nights. I grew up in Marsden so we went for meals at the Marsden Inn quite a lot as we were growing up. I hadn't been there for a meal for some years as we found somewhere else that became our regular so I went with some reluctance at the suggestion of my father. However, I was very pleasantly surprised - the decor doesn't seem to have changed(old style) but the food has. It was superb. They specify at the door that it is all home cooked food. Our meals were brought to the table very quickly, the service was fast but friendly. The food was lovely and there was plenty of it, even the kids meal that we ordered. The main thing I noticed was that all our meals were home cooked and cooked well, they weren't just heated in a bag and then bashed out onto the plate. I noticed another table had ordered a pasta dish and it was huge so I will be returning soon to sample that and hopefully next time one of their desserts.
