We've had to use this branch of Sainsbury's while our usual supermarket is being renovated. What a dump! Its a huge barn, so its a long trek even to get a few things, not helped by the fact that many of the signs hanging from the roof don't correspond to what's on the shelves beneath. large chav element among clientele, so expect to see lots of kids getting hit/sworn at etc. My main beef is that there are never enough tills open so it takes ages to get out & due to the store's poor layout, you're getting bumped into all the time you're waiting in line. The Outsider Tart is a cake and tart company run by two guys called David, who moved over from the USA to start a new life in London. They are passionate about cooking delicious looking and tasting treats, and I am passionate about eating their wares!

They sell a range of giant cakes (by the slice and whole), scones, pies, tarts, biscuits, slices, brownies and cupcakes. I have a soft spot for their cupcakes - my favourite so far has been the Peanut Butter with Meringue icing - looked almost too good to eat.

I look forward to visiting their stall at Richmond Farmers Market each Saturday, and can't resist making a purchase or three - they always have something new that I just have to sample. On Sundays they have a stall at Chiswick Farmers Market (Dukes Meadow), and you can also purchase their creations at Mortimer and Bennett, on Turnham Green Terrace in Chiswick.

One of my favourite shops in Richmond is Philglas & Swiggott, a fabulous wine shop. Read the shop's name aloud and see if you get the clever play on words....I didn't for ages!

I first discovered the shop a few years ago, after a visit to one of my favourite wineries back in Australia. After doing some wine tasting I asked them if their wine was stocked anywhere in London, and they said yes, but only at Philglas & Swiggott. Of course when I arrived back to London I headed there to stock up on a few bottles, and have been going back ever since.

There are 3 stores in the Philglas & Swiggott family - the first opening back in 1991 in Battersea, then Richmond opening in 2003 and Marylebone following in 2005. Originally only Australian wines were stocked, but these days they stock a range of interesting wines from across the world, still with a good selection of Aussies wines on hand.

Prices are reasonable, staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and it is a very dangerous place for me to visit - I can't just pop in for a browse...I always walk away with something.One of my favourite shops in Richmond is Philglas & Swiggott, a fabulous wine shop. Source is a fresh food and grocery store located just near Richmond Station. Open since December 2004, it has become increasingly popular with Richmond workers and residents as a great place to pick up a snack, a meal or ingredients to top up the pantry.

Source stocks a good range of high quality foods from smaller suppliers, giving it a more up market feel to the nearby supermarkets.

There is a delicious array of ready-made meals and lunch time snacks, including the tasty Itsu Sushi. You can pick up some organic veggies and bread, some interesting pastas and a full range of cupboard essentials. Have a look at their wine selection, including some good Italian and Australian options, and be tempted by the array of delicious chocolates and hand made biscuits on offer.

A more recent addition to Source is the in-house Taylor Street Baristas who are making the best coffee in Richmond - drink in or takeaway.Source is a fresh food and grocery store located just near Richmond Station. Gelateria Danieli is located on a small cobbled lane, between Richmond High Street and Richmond Green. After walking by it many times, one sunny day we gave into temptation.

It seemed that most of Richmond had the same idea, as there was a queue out the door...oh well, the line moved fast and in no time it was our turn to order from the friendly staff.

We both opted for a cup with two scoops - I had the Coffee and the Rocher (choc hazelnut) and Alex had the Dark Chocolate and the Strawberry. It was actually really good gelato - nice and creamy and flavoursome. I have no doubt we will return!

I avoid eating/drinking at the Pauls in Richmond as it is small and not particularly inviting.

However the produce is fabulous! If you are having a dinner party and don't have time to bake I definitely recommend swinging by and picking up one of the tasty tarts! The citron tart is a particular favourite of mine and compares very well with those I have sampled in France

The pre-made baugettes and sandwiches are all very tasty and enjoyable. If you are on a diet I would avoid this place at all costs...I avoid eating/drinking at the Pauls in Richmond as it is small and not particularly inviting.
