Okay, let's be clear up-front...this is NOT a place for a quiet, candlelit date, but it is a place for authentic, great-tasting Asian cuisine.

It amazes me that people go to mediocre Indian restaurants and pay a fortune for something bland and tasteless when the real-deal is available here at very affordable prices.

The decor is brash and functional but the food is excellent, and the service is surprisingly good. This place needs a serious shake up!
Where do i start ?This was a phone order
Stale Pitta bread soaked in fat which fell apart on handling,Lamb cold and burn,t sauces cheap and nasty and overdone regardless of request.
Chicken kebab in half a pitta 4 pieces(That was a large!) Minimal salad and chips under cooked
Avoid at all costs £14 straight in the bin .Send in Gordon Ramsey !

I don't know what folk like about these Mr Cod's, it's just not good at all.
Got a fish, and it just had no taste, and what I did taste tasted off and had at least 2 inches of big bones.
We had some chicken, and they were nothing to write home about.
Everything cooked in cheap vegetable oil, and it reminded me of the taste of the cheapest oil you could buy at the supermarket...everytime I think about it reminds me of tht horrible taste.
The shop was dirty with sauces on the tables, and papers absolutely everywhere. And the staff were unshaved, looked like a wash would have done them good.
This is a very poor place to buy a take-away, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Rating: 5.00The Istanbul Grill is a great takeaway that's located 5 minutes away from the University campus. The food is cooked fresh in front of you to your exact requirements and always tastes fantastic. There is a good variety of food available and is of a high standard. It should also be noted that all the meat is halal.

The staff are extremely friendly and make conversation while you wait which is a refreshing change from other takeaways.

The prices are extremely reasonable and the food is very filling. Burger king in Reading is a sad excuse for a fast food outlet.

It took about 10 minutes for a burger to arrive then they managed to cock up the order by giving me small fries and a coke, not the diet version.

Staff seem to be young students trying to earn a buck - I don't blame them but they do need more staff and an increased focus on customer serviceCan you give no stars?
