not worth a visit at all. terrible food, a lovely little waitress who slightly made up for it. overpriced drinks and a horrible atmosphere.

Although have lived in Reading for 6 years, I had barely noticed the Warwick. However, after reading a review on another forum, I decided to give it a try. I was definitely not disappointed. Although a traditional pub (where you have to order your food at the bar), it has been decorated with Asian accents. Meanwhile, the food was absolutely delicious, with no holding back on the spices. While I would not go so far as to say it beats Thai Corner, I did prefer the more relaxed atmosphere here. The dish descriptions are mouth-watering but the quantities served are incredibly tiny. I have eaten a vegetarian main course twice and both time had such a ridiculously small portion served than I nearly as hungry after as before. Last month I had the grilled aubergine & mash, it was tasty but consisted of only 2 or 3 slices of aubergine and one scoop of mash. And yesterday I had the cheese, cauliflower & onion pie with salad and roasted vegetables. This consisted of a small dish of cheesy sauce in which I could only find one tiny cauliflower floret with a very thin pastry topping (like filo), the roasted vegetables turned out to be two dices of butternut squash and two pieces of red onion, the salad was green leaves without any dressing and with 3 pieces of pepper, and two more kinds of onion. It mostly was bland - all I could taste was all the onions (until the next day too). Paying £8 for a main course like these was not only disappointing but made me angry. Having tried twice, once at lunch, once at dinner, I can only assume the chef/manager there thinks vegetarians are anorexic! Why else would they not supply a normal amount of nourishment? A few potatoes or a bit of pasta doesn't cost much money and is easy to provide. The pie is a joke - I was expecting a hearty meal.
The friends eating with me had much better quantities provided. The fish & chips was OK, though not as big as in most pubs (such as the Griffin in Caversham which is our regular and is excellent for both quality and quantity). The pub classics appear to come with decent amounts of potato, sauce etc. The lamb was a huge plate with mash & gravy.
I shall not be returning there,a t least not for a meal. Would have to disagree with the previous review, as I have always found the staff here to be quite friendly. Personally, I tend to go here for a lunchtime meal and the food is always excellent, with a great selection of dishes, both with full meals and light lunchtime bites. The menu seems to change fairly regularly, with a daily specials board, but you can always find the staple pub dishes of fish & chips and bangers & mash! On the occasions I have been here in the evening it is packed and you struggle to get a table. Since being tarted up last year, The Moderation is a fab place to spend the evening eating and drinking. The menu is a mix of standard 'gastro' fayre and some more global-style dishes, and is always excellent. The interior is fab (leather seats, candles etc), and their weekly food deals mean it's bargainous as well. A family friendly pub with a very local feel. This pub has a large enclosed garden in which children can run freely and safely. The climbing frames, swings and slides help to keep the children entertained whilst waiting for their food! The childrenâ¬"s menu offers a good variety of dishes which include vegetables and dessert is included in the price. The portions are very reasonable for the price. Highchairs are available and childrenâ¬"s cutlery provided. For the adults there is a good variety of â¬Üpub foodâ¬" on the menu and I can highly recommend the Sunday roast, a plate piled full of delicious food.A family friendly pub with a very local feel. Great venue for cracking cocktails from a very extensive menu. Service is good, with staff bringing the cocktails to your table rather than making you wait at the bar.

The only drawback is that is can be really noisy at the weekend.

A handy pub with the lowest ceilings I have experienced. I practically had to crawl to the bar (yes, i was sober).

Despite a very basic menu the food was surprisingly well prepared and thoughtful. Chips were crispy, tartar sauce came in a little pot (no irritating little sachets), a veggie burger came in a fresh roll and the salad was complete with lambs lettuce/ tasty dressing. A cut above what my taste-buds and stomach had prepared me for.

A little on the quiet side but the staff were super-friendly and more than compensated.

A decent chain bar and restaurant the Slug and Lettuce on Reading Riverside is a good place for drinks after work or a meal. Often quite busy from 5.30pm onwards with office workers relaxing, the Slug and Lettuce has an outdoor area facing the river, some high tables with bar stools towards the front of the restaurant, a general restaurant area and some comfy leather chairs towards the back.

The staff are polite and helpful, including sorting out any particular dietary requirements. They also run a promotion on Wednesdays with any bottle of wine for just under Â£13. Rating: 4.00A new addition to the Oracle Riverside, the Ha! Ha! is a good place for a drink or meal. If you like the Ha! Ha! Bar & Canteen chain you will not be disappointed with this one.

The Ha! Ha! is divided into a dedicated restaurant area and a bar area with comfortable chairs. The wine selection is decent and they also do a variety of tempting cocktails.

The restaurant staff were courteous and friendly, although they appeared unaware of a meal promotion being run by all Ha! Ha!s, which meant getting our bill took a little longer than it might have. Hopefully these minor teething troubles will be ironed out in the next few months.

The cunningman is a pub & restaurant which has a lovely setting alongside the river.

This is one of my favourite pubs to visit for a pub lunch during the summer. They have lots of benches outside with lovely scenery and it has a nice family atmosphere, it also very quiet as its not in a busy area.

The food is tradional british pub food but up to high standards. they seem to do a mix of basic food such as a burger to more fancy foods such as a brie sandwich for lunch.

They do a roast on a sunday with a choice of meats, they do steaks, pastas, salads, etc. There's definately something on the menu everyone would like.

The prices are fair and average. around Â£12 a meal, Â£6 for lunch (sandwich & chips).

The staff are friendly and are well presented in there uniforms.

Having discovered this by accident - I was very pleased with the find. It is the smallest pub I've ever been in. It has a weird interior - all the walls and ceilings decorated with beer mats that the pub has served over the years. There are also wooden alcoves where you can sit (only a few people on a table). If there's a large group of you I wouldn't bother coming here as you would fill the pub.

The selection of ales on offer is great - and apart from the atmosphere and the strangeness of this pub (it is a good experience coming here). I would definitely pop in - it's so convenient as it's on the high street opposite the main entrance to the Oracle. Pop in for one and you'll probably end up staying for a few.

A pleasant bar come restaurant with the recent addition of a courtyard and hotel rooms. The conservatory is the best place to be if you are going to eat so try to ask to be seated there. The menu is very much in the vein of a gastro pub with fusion from all types of cuisine and it does it fairly well. Some nice ciabatta sandwiches are on the lunch menu with other light bites to choose from. The menu is very much in the vein of a gastro pub with fusion from all types of cuisine and it does it fairly well. Some nice ciabatta sandwiches are on the lunch menu with other light bites to choose from. The staff are always friendly though generally the service is more in line with a pub rather than a gastro pub i.e. a little sloppy and under attentive at times but nothing that would spoil a meal

I have been to the restaurant upstairs in this establishment but never to the bar downstairs. Itâ¬"s a deceptively big room upstairs which made it seem rather quiet on the evening myself and my partner arrived. It turned out it was actually quite busy but there were only 2 members of staff on. Despite this, the service was fairly good, although we were left without cutlery and given the ridiculously large pepper grinder to use ourselves â¬ I had to stand up to use it!

The food was good but nothing out of the ordinary. Strangely for an Italian restaurant, the best dish for us was the Greek, stuffed vine leaves!
