What a find, get little Italian, lovely warm atmosphere. Great host and the food was really really good. I went a couple of weeks ago, had scallops to start with spinach and loved every mouthful. Followed by lamb chops with veg and the best gravy every, and the meat was cooked to perfection, and finally couldn't leave without trying the chocolate and almond cake, which was heavenly and no gluten in it so it wasn't heavy at all. We have been searching for a good honest, Indian for a while now. Having exausted our own area (Weymouth & Dorchester) we found Tatnam Tandoori on this site. Their own website was really nice too. Don't be put off by the residential setting. It was really good. The staff were just so friendly, chattting nicely to locals coming in for a take-away. Our food was very good and consistant throughout. The Nargis kabab and Lamb Tikka for starters were excellent. The main curries were very good too. Saag Aloo was particularly good. What dissappointment - rather then the beautifull full flavoured rich soup of various types of fish cooked in a wondrous red fish stock we got a mysterious red paste containing some boiled potatoes. Some fried fish was dropped on top of this. The croutons were rock hard and could not even be soaked in the soup. I have never seen a rouille like that either It was tasteless and nasty.

We did ask initially if the bouillabase was nice - knowing its a bit challenging. We were told it was. At the end having eaten it anyway - being hungry and having waited some time, we just suggested it should not be recommended to others. The chefs response was apparently 'Thats how it is in france' . We were told that he was french. Perhaps he has been deported for crimes against food.

Maybe the other items on the menu are fine who knows.

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner at Cafe Shore (October 2009). We were shown to a lovely table overlooking the sea. The decor is very sumptuous and trendy. The bar area looks contemporary with nice lighting and furniture. We ate in the restaurant which is situated passed the bar and is elevated overlooking the sea. The food was wonderful and the staff excellent. Especially Tiffany who served us. She was very informative about the menu and attentive. I called up to book a room for a work colleague of mine as he was coming down to work in our local branch for a week and this was the closest hotel with rooms.
As i booked the room over the phone on the Friday and the booking was not till the Sunday i offered to pay over the phone by card. They did not have a card machine so i said i could come round later with the money . I was told not to bother as it would be fine to pay on the Sunday when my colleague arrived. I informed the gentleman that he would not be arriving till around 7pm which i was told was fine, I also left my work address and my contact number with them.
When my colleague arrived at 6.30pm on the Sunday he was told his room had been given to someone else and there was no more rooms free . Then was asked to leave with not so much as a apology .

A lovely restaurant. I ate here twice recently, dinner for two in the evening, then a celebration lunch for 9 people. On both occassions the food was superb: freshly cooked and beautifully presented. The staff are friendly and efficient and eager to please. It's not cheap in the evening but the set price lunch is great value. The decor is very smart, the location is great.A lovely restaurant. A well respected local curry house. Prices average for the area and good quality food from a wide ranging menu. Delivery can sometimes take a while due to its popularity but worth the wait. Rating: 2.00We stayed here for two nights 29-30 June, excellent rooms and well equipped but we had to ask for new soap, shampoo and biscuits on the second day ! Signs of the recession are now clearly evident unfortunately. I even had to send back a breakfast hash-brown as it was tough, chewy and way over cooked in a microwave I suspect. What particularly annoyed me though was the cheapskate approach they have with fish for breakfast - Â£3 extra for a kipper !

Tourists, Your choice but it's the poorest excuse for a so called luxury hotel I've seen for years. We went on a Sunday, which is probably the busiest day. Because you cannot book ahead, it is worth going about half and hour before to put your name on the list, then have a pre-meal drink. For the roast there were 3 meats on offer Gammon, Beef and Turkey, and there were 2 nice looking vegetarian options. There were huge yorkshire puds on offer,stuffing,roast and boiled potatoes, mashed sweed,carrots, brocolli (all were freshly prepared not frozen) and a choice of at least 3 different gravys. You were allowed to go up for seconds for everything except the meat. Although Henry's is now called 'Harry's', it is in the same place and is basically the same thing! They have cut down the menu a bit which I think is a real shame - I used to love it when they ahd all the dishes written up on blackboards around the restaurant - however, they have given it a much needed face lift as it was a bit worn out before. Basically Harry's/Henry's is just a lovly little restaurant serving good old homecooked dishes; they are very friendly and it's often full of locals which is always a good sign. I went here with a group of over 10 mums from school. We booked the table and they had sorted the tables accordingly so we could all sit together. The staff were friendly and the menu was extensive. There were specials available to chose, they didn't mind changing options like "no mushrooms" for some of us fussy mums! We shared starters down the table and wine also. The bill was not over the top for what we all had and everyone had enjoyed their food (and drink). The atmosphere is authentic Italian with lots of Italian memorabelia hanging around the place. Ma's Pizza and Pasta is situated in a beautiful old Georgian house in Poole High Street, just a short walk from Poole Quay. On a hot day, you can do a lot worse than to sit outside on the shady terrace under the parasols eating your lunch, and At Â£4.95 a head, the lunch menu at Ma's is certainly not to be sniffed at.

There's a pretty good choice including the obligatory pizza and pasta (clue's in the title!) plus a selection of sandwiches and jacket spuds. This is like a mini supermarket version of Tesco. They sell the majority of basic items you would need on your weekly shop so useful if for any reason you can't make the main shop. I use this shop all the time for top ups such as milk and bread and usually end up buyingmore besides. They stock fresh fruit and veg which is handy. They do lack a fresh bakery area which is a shame but theu couldn't fit one in if they wanted to. The downside of shopping here is that it is often busy and always heaving on a Sunday afternoon so you have no chance of parking and queues of cars tail out the car park! The staff are ok, not very friendly but they do their job!
