We just wanted somewhere for B&B at a reasonable price in central Oxford while we visited our daughter. Got a good rate on the internet.
This suited us well and we were pleasantly surprised after reading some of the negative reviews.
We did ask for a "quiet " room and we got No 8 with a double and single which was clean and simply furnished, although no chairs. The bathroom worked and the bed was comfortable.

However, not recommended for the elderly or infirm as we had to bend almost double and twist and turn to negotiate the C17 ceilings and stairs to get there.

The breakfast was fine, if slow. Only one waitress and not enough tables.

The Service and Reception are really non-existent, but downstairs it is just a student pub (with no real ale) and TVs everywhere both inside and out! I think noise could be a problem in some of the bedrooms either from the bar or the road, we were ok with a window shut.

The real plus points are-the location/the carpark/the price.

As long as you turn up- just expecting to be given the keys and your room number and the times for breakfast from somone behind the bar(and nothing else) -you will not be too disappointed. Not 4 star and certainly no airs and graces, but we slept well, enjoyed the breakfasts and found the bathroom facilities quite acceptable.

Would stay again for a couple of nights-but not for longer-as the real joy was being able to park the car and wander round Oxford on foot fot 3 days.

Absolutely overpriced B and B. The room was terrible and dirty especially the bathroom that has pealing paint and smelt.
