As a student in Norwich for 3 years this was the perfect venue for many a drunken moments. They do cheap nights for students which is great on a budget. Drinks are fine and getting served is fairly standard for a nightclub. The foyer is nice and spacious which is excellent for getting a bit of fresh air.
Many a cheesy tunes are played by the dj who happily took requests from us. They may still offer a bottle of bubbly if it's someones birthday, but I'm not sure if that still happens.
One thing to be wary of are the walls, which after a certain point in the evening begin to sweat so avoid that!

It's been shut since summer 2007 due to the wobble floor worries in the little sister section of the club.

It was a real mix of music and quite popular. Who knows when or if ever it will open it's doors again.

Such a shame the building is going to waste.

Optics is a reasonable club. Nothing really special though. The bouncers deal with trouble easily and security is high, the price is horrific to get in, considering most of the time you want to leave after 15mins. Still, worth a visit with your friends. Barstaff are friendly, bouncers are flirtatious like they all are, toilets are very nice inside, and is nicely furnished throughout. An average club to visit if youâ¬"re in Norwich. Live music is atrocious. Wannabe rappers usually ruin the night, so if this starts, Iâ¬"d advise you to leave and visit one of the other clubs down the road. Great music, cheap drinks and a fantastic dancefloor. Mercy is a definite place to visit whilst you're in Norwich. Alchopops are Â£1.25 before 12am if you ask for a VS, and the bar staff are often scantily dressed. A smoking area is provided and there are two sections of the club. Upstairs for the indie music and downstairs for the more r&b, dance and electronica. What once used to be an old theatre house, is now an impressive club. Drinks are barred from the dancefloor, which is a blessing considering how long it takes to get ready, just to have someone to poor beer down your new top. The Salsa parties are usually held on the 2nd and last Saturdays of the month. There are classes from 7.30 then the music and dancing until midnight.

There is an excellent vibe with really friendly people. You can go alone, with a group or a partner but you'll find yourself dancing with lots of different people in no time.

And to top it all the bar is very cheap!
