The staff are very helpful, their call centre routes through to the states and UK companies could learn a lot from the helpful manner of the telephone team.
The Cherry Court Hotel - Clean, Friendly, Convenient by ClaireN

If I come to London alone I normally stay in a YHA hostel. However, when Iâ¬"m in town with my husband, weâ¬"d like a private room, but donâ¬"t want to pay business-class hotel prices. London has a surfeit of small hotels but it can be a real challenge finding one that offers a good price-to-quality ratio in a part of town handy for travel links and tourist sites. Cherry Courtâ¬"s rooms are small, as are the bathrooms; however they are clean and tidy and well laid-out to give the maximum space for suitcases, etc. The price is excellent considering the conditions of the rooms and shared spaces in the hotel. Free internet access next to reception was a nice bonus.

We slept in a triple on the ground floor for one night, then in a double on the first floor for two nights. Both rooms were at the front of the hotel, overlooking the road. Despite this we were not overly bothered by noise, either from inside or outside the hotel. In addition, the owners are very friendly and helpful and obviously take pride in their hotel.

A fruit basket is provided in each room for breakfast (although they serve equally well for snacks during the day out around the town) and tea and coffee making facilities are also available. There are pubs and cafes around the hotel where you can get a cooked breakfast if you prefer.

If you are looking for a decent hotel for a good price in an excellent location, then you should seriously consider the Cherry Court Hotel for your stay in London. It is definitely now my first choice hotel when staying in London. We've just got back from a stay at Cherry Court, and it's been one of the best stays in London we've had outside business-class (4/5 star) hotels. For a place that was chosen because of its location and price, I was pleasantly surprised by what we actually got. The rooms were simple but clean, ours had a tv and a sink- donâ¬"t underestimate the usefulness of this fantastic feature if you happen to visit in the midst of a heat wave. There are no wardrobes but there is hanging space on one wall and enough space for suitcases to be left open on the floor without tripping over them. The staff are friendly and more than happy to offer recommendations on where to eat and what to see. Situated only 5 minutes from Victoria Station, it is one of the cheapest centrally located hotels and its luggage hold facility is majorly underrated- only £1 per day for each room! Be prepared to carry your bags though as there are no lifts and lots of steps if you happen to be on the top floor!I stayed in the Enrico Hotel for a week at the start of August this year. I was extremely impressed. The hotel was clean and stylish, and though the room was certainly on the small side of cosy, it was perfectly appointed and very comfortable. Our weekend package included bed and breakfast (extremely good), along with complimentary champagne and canapes on the first night, plus a free drink each for every day we stayed, and a few other extras such as newspapers. However, one of the main attractions was a late checkout (4pm) on Sunday which meant that we could make the most of the day. The staff were extremely helpful at all times. It's also extremely convenient for Waterloo, the Tate and other local attractions, and Pimlico and Westminster offer good Underground links. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone - it's head and shoulders above competitors in a similar price bracket. We booked a weekend package at the City Inn Westminster to spend a couple of days Christmas shopping. He then said we were in the other building so taken outside and pointed in the direction of a wooden door next to some sort of kebab house. we were warned to be careful as they accept no responsibility for any loss which set alarm bells ringing. we got inside where it was just 3 floors of corridors and went down to the basement where our room was. once inside, we found the smoke detector was stuffed with toilet roll, the last guests rubbish was left on the dressing table, the beds didnt match and the window didnt lock. the plug was clogged in the shower so kept having to turn it off to avoid completely flooding the bathroom. the tv had 1 channel which played across numbers 1-4 and 5 didnt work. outside the window was masses of rubbish, disgusting. amazingly when we came back from our night out we still had all our belongings which we really did not expect. the room was freezing though and the only bed covers were a sheet and a felt blanket so no good nights sleep. i would not recommend staying here...We stayed there last night and we're disgusted. we paid £75 for a triple room which was a case of cramming a double and single bed into a tiny room. It's hidden just off St James's and it's not somewhere you're likely just to chance across.

There was a mix of well-heeled 30- and 40-somethings when we got there at about 8pm and it seems to be a great place to relax and have a catch up with old friends/business colleagues over a cocktail or two. I probably wouldn't recommend it if you were looking for a romantic 'first date' kind of venue though.

Part of the theatre of the place is that they prepare the martinis on a small trolley by your seats...its a nice touch. I agree with the other reviewer that their cocktails are leathal in their size and strength!

It's a gem of a bar and definitely one I'll return to.

A mate recommended Dukes Hotel for its martinis so I went their before dinner on a Friday evening with 3 friends.

The bar is cosy, quite small and with a pleasant 'old world' rather than trendy feel.
