Unfriendly, rude barman works here. Pours the worst beers in london with massive heads. Refuses to correct the head in snob like fashion. Went there 13th nov, 2009 night. Two guys working behind the bar are typical london snobs. They have no sense of pub tradition or etiquette.Horrible bar attitude, disgusting service. I just came here for a bottle of wine with a friend and it is the perfect find when you are stressed out with the noise and tourists up and down charing cross road. It's such a relief to land here and find a cosy corner for a nice chat.

I did find the mix of French and English themes in the decor a bit confusing - the French bit would have been fine on its own but I'm sure there's a good story behind it which I'll have to enquire about next time.I just came here for a bottle of wine with a friend and it is the perfect find when you are stressed out with the noise and tourists up and down charing cross road. We went there for a girlie lunch today as it's near our workplace and have always wanted to go. They have quite a few food specials going on (pizza and burgers 2for1). The burgers (especially the chips) was really good and the portions big. Our waiter was very rushed and cleared our table while one girl was still eating. We all found him very rude with no "table-side" manners. Although he was the only waiter I could see, it wasn't busy at all (maybe 4 other tables, and by the time we were done it was empty again) so I don't understand what the rush was about. AVOID-
we went last night friday, tried 3 beers all were flat, vinegar, very badly kept, the 'landlord' -( use the term loosely!) said nothing, we had a Youngs which was very average.

Then a fight nearly broke out, everyone was visibly upset, the 'landlord' just put the offenders at different ends of the pub!

A couple complained about the wine, eventually got a refund and left. The barstaff and 'landlord' just laughed about it, probably thinking you dare to come in here expecting good service, beer and wine and then complain-HA

The toilets were disgusting, dirty, smelly, graffitti, damp walls, need of a good o lick of paint.

7 Americans came in for dinner, the landlord' told them to get their own menus, they made their choice, went to the bar to order, the'landlord' said, "No snack food only"! and this was 8.15 at night, welcome to London

I have been to Ruby Blue (club) a few times over the past few years and have generally enjoyed myself there. Tonight was no exception. Good mix of clientle (i.e. middle-aged and young), very good music with two floors - one for commercial House the other for R&B/Hip-Hop. Drinks prices are fair for a central London club however I was surprised at the Â£15 entrance on a Saturday - could have sworn I've paid Â£10 in the past.

Anyway the reason which prompted me to review tonight... I was left with a sour taste in my mouth.

Don't get me wrong, this is generally a good club. But tonight I paid Â£3.80 for a bottle of beer with a Â£10 note. The bar assistant gave me back Â£1.20. I smiled looking confused at the change in my hand, and she smiled back, "You gave me ten right?" "Yes!" So she went back to the till. But instead of giving me my Â£5 back, she had a word with her supervisor. I had to explain to the supervisor my situation. She seemed sympathetic but then insisted that she could not get money out of the till and I would need to speak to the manager. She offered two cocktails as an alternative but I declined and wanted to speak to the manager.

Enter Peter Keane, one of the managers (I had to almost force his name out of him). He was utterly useless and I can't believe he accused me of lying, "That bar staff has been with us for 2 years". Seriously, what happened to "the Customer is always right"?! Who the hell goes to bars trying to scam Â£5 notes anyway? He completely took me for an idiot and I felt really insulted when he offered two shots as compensation. When I said his supervisor offered me two cocktails he said, "No, that's too expensive". It was not until I asked for his name at the end of a 10 minute argument that I managed to rightfully get my Â£5 back. I know it's only Â£5 but it's the principal. And if this is how Mr Keane treats his customers then he seriously needs some Customer Relationship Management lessons.

Go to this venue only if you wish to be treated homophobically by the door staff! A regular visitor to this venue for almost 10 years & I was pretty disgusted to be subjected to homophobic behaviour from a member of the door staff. On entry I was asked if I new what this venue was. I was let in & thanked the door man but made the mistake of patting this guy on the shoulder to which he responded "just do not try to f@~#g touch me" When I later made a complaint to the manager the door man fabricated a story accusing me of trying to touch him sexually. The manager behaved defensively & never apologised whilst the security guy just laughed in my face.
Big shame about the situation as I've always rated this venue & have always had a good time there but homophobic door staff & managers who reinforce their behaviour make it no longer a venue I would visit again or recommend.Go to this venue only if you wish to be treated homophobically by the door staff! Went this Friday. This place is smaller than my studio appartment and lacking in any kind of atmosphere. The dance floor is tiny with the toilets virtually on it and the staff had an attitude. Asked to see the bar manager as every time we ordered a round it was a different price and was generally treated with contempt. Hunting for a good central London pub if you're not a resident can be a bewildering and ultimately futile experience. You end up sipping flat warm beer knowing that there is better out there whilst weeping gently in the corner.

That's why I was so happy to be introduced by an old friend to this gem in the very heart of London, yards from Trafalgar Square. My heart skipped a beat as we crossed over the road from Charing Cross to Chandos Place to this bijou drinking hole that is 100% pub, without the prefix "gastro" and hurrah for that. There is still a real place for uncomplicated traditional boozers that deliver first class real ale, ciders and lagers and leave faux fine dining to others.

Judging by the brisk and often hectic trade it's cheery bar staff were coping with - lots of others say "aye" to that also. The 6 real ales were proving very popular, with Harvey's Best Bitter being the pick of the bunch. Delicious proper sausage baguettes were being used as gastronomic mops to soak up the beer by workers that had come for a couple of beers after work and been beguiled into staying for more than was wise.

This is a great little pub, one of my favourites and from what I can work out the only decent one in SW1 (please, PLEASE disillusion me if you know of any others).

It's a Shepherd Neame house, always a good thing! They boast a narrow range (Master Brew, Spitfire and the seasonal beer, at present the delicious Autumn Red) but it's always top drawer.

The pub itself is very small and consequently gets very busy. In the evenings a crowd tends to spill out across the broad pavement outside. But it is a beautiful little building. Full of dark oak panelling and adorned with the most vibrant window boxes and hanging baskets, it's a real beauty.

I haven't eaten there. I believe they do a modest selection of sandwiches and toasties. It's not usual to give five overall stars and five for food, service and ambience, but it's hard not to with Milk & Honey.

Let's begin from the end â¬ Ambience. Milk & Honey has this magical quality of removing you completely from noisy Soho and London in general. You feel youâ¬"ve stepped back in time to a different place, solely dedicated to you enjoying some of Londonâ¬"s best cocktails, in cosy company, whether it is with friends or a date (Iâ¬"d really recommend it if youâ¬"re going on a first date and are looking to impress, without risking something swanky or pretentious). Dark lighting, jazz that has the right balance between adding energy to the room and blending in the background and really comfortable booths for a group of up to 6.

Service. Exceptional in a word. The waiters know the menu very well and will happily recommend something if you cannot decide. Just tell them roughly what youâ¬"re after and you want be disappointed. The staff at the door is very friendly, making you feel welcome and comfortable from the start. This is the same on the phone. Milk and Honey is a members club, but anyone can reserve a table by calling before 5pm. They will do their best to help you.

Finally food. I hadnâ¬"t tried it in my previous visits, but I was blown away by its quality last time I went. Remember that weâ¬"re talking about bar snacks here, but the salt-rubbed lamb chops are right up there with the best Iâ¬"ve tried. There were other memorable mentions Iâ¬"m sure, but the quality of those chops was so high that Iâ¬"m struggling to remember the other things (we had started quite early that day). I do remember that everything was really good, with only the portions of chips feeling a bit small and not spectacular.

So there you have it. One of central Londonâ¬"s and Sohoâ¬"s finest hidden gems with amazing cocktails that stays open late (4am if youâ¬"re a member) and a place youâ¬"ll equally enjoy with friends or more romantic encounters. The last part applies if you go on a date. This is not the place to pick someone up and house rules strongly discourage male punters from approaching ladies. The reverse does not apply, so you never know...you may still get lucky. Unlikely though, so just go to enjoy the atmosphere, drink and food.

We went there last Saturday for my daughters birthday. It is a small venue - seats about 80-90 - but the quality of the acts was first class. I haven't laughed so much for ages. Beats Jongleurs hands down. Also they had a bar in the room which meant you could easily get a drink.

I am from the U.S. - Los Angeles area. Two of my friends and I were in London for a week in May. After touring the Sloan museum, we stumbled upon the Ship Tavern. It became my favorite London pub. I have viisted London many times and been in many pubs, but this is the best. We initially had some pints in the lower floor. The next evening we came back and had dinner upstairs. We happened to be there on "pie night" - two pies for one. The steak and ale pie I had was marvelous! This is a very cozy, friendly, and beautiful pub. Looks great from the outside, unfortunately once inside it is apparent that the Albert Tavern is a tourist trap, with the price scheme seemingly designed to rip them off.
The beer is expensive but reasonable quality. The food is...well terrible.
I asked for a falafel burger and chips and what I got looked like a cheap veggie burger (with cheapest quality burger bun) and unappetising chips. It cost Â£6.99 + Â£3.21 for a beer, you can get better in Wetherspoons for Â£5.49 for both.
The barman gave me Â£5 less change than I should have got, if I hadn't have noticed and told him I would have paid over Â£15 for a meal that can be gotten from any take away in London for Â£4.

I popped in to try out a fairly new addition to the Pimlico area (I think it was previously the slug and lettuce). The decor consists of warm dark wooden floors, with nicely warn wooden furniture, coaches and painted panelled walls. The bar is on the ground floor with large windows on two sides giving it a nice light and spacious feel. There is also some tables outside for those that smoke or on nice sunny days.
The food was freshly made, pleasantly good and the service excellent. Last and certainly not least good selection of beers on tap too. I can recommend giving it a go and giving it the custom it deserves.

Most disappointing was loud-mouthed staff at the bar who removed our full glasses of drinks and then claimed that they were empty and that we should order again. I believe the pub doesn't have good intentions towards tourists.It was lively enough for a breezy Friday night in April. Music was slightly cheesy. Fabulous, old-style boozer, with hearty, reasonably-priced food, and typically cheap Sam Smiths bar prices.

Me and my friends were at Strawberry Moons last Saturday and had a booth for the night as one of my friends were celebrating their 23rd birthday. We got 2 tasty free platters included with reserving our own area. Service was really good as drinks were flowing and staff were really nice. The DJ played all the latest hits and got everyone moving on the dancefloor. The price of drinks were reasonable. The place definately had a good vibe and everyone was just having a good time. Couldnt have asked for a better night out!!
