This is a place to go if you want a unique meal! I opted for this place a while ago when I was on a first date, and it went perfectly â¬ the unique meals on the menu helped us along and gave us lots to talk about! The welcome by the staff is fantastic, they are absolutely fabulous and give you such a warm welcome. The menu has lots and lots of varied dishes. Those who arenâ¬"t keen to experiment will still find lots to make a choice from. Prices are about average for a high quality restaurant in the area so there are no suprisesThis is a place to go if you want a unique meal! Went there earlier this week for a catch up with a couple of old friends. Whilst overheard conversations around the bar hinted darkly of 'market stresses' and 'credit crunches' the chelsea crowd were determined to enjoy their tuesday evening and the place was as packed as ever.

We got there for around 8pm and, with about a 25 minute wait for a table (no reservations), ordered a bottle of Montepulciano from their well priced wine menu and stood jawing at the bar. Service was fantastic throughout the meal and as soon a table became availiable we were ushered through.

Started with the whitebait special and had a great ribeye for main. Total for the 3 of us with starters, mains, sides (no desert) and 2xbottles of good wine came to about Â£135.

In summary, Sophies is friendly, warm and and packed with the well-groomed 20-40 year old Chelsea crowd. Not somewhere I'd suggest for a romantic first date, but good for a fun evening out with friends.

When we arrived we couldnâ¬"t see the restaurant were open or closed. Everything was dark outside. The restaurant was practically empty
but we decided to eat there. A very cold welcome from the staff. I never have seen during a meal the staff is not smiling once.

Everything was so slow. First we had to wait a long time for our starters as well for our main course.
Nobody made a back check while eating. Nobody was looking after us. Hardly to see any staff during service hours anyway. Where were they? I have no idea.

When our main course finally arrived we ask if we can get some lemon slices. We had to ask twice to remind them. They not even realized that our wine glasses wine were empty so we had to wait again to order another one each.

Either the staff wasnâ¬"t there at all or were talking with each other and surfing thru the internet searching for some tools.
This gave me a really bad impression.

After we finished our main course we were sitting another 15 min before we needed to ask the staff if we could order some desserts.
We had to say that the food were to salty. But nothing came over from the staff. No apologizing, nothing. They not ask us for any coffee or tea.

So we finished our desserts and had to search for staff to ask for our bill. We could leave without paying and they would not have recognized that.
Finally everything sorted and we left. I looked back and what did we see. The lady from the reception were eating of the sweats they put
earlier on the table.

I got one question. Is the staff in any way trained to give an excellent service?? A really bad service from a very incompetent staff.

The service was not even the basic. The most overpriced meal I have had since moving back to London and the most disappointing.
Scandalously expensive for an otherwise unmemorable meal.

Absolutely loved this restaurant... the food was super, the prices were reasonable (for Chelsea), the service was friendly and attentive, and the portions were huge. Huge. I would go back every day if I could. Thinking about it now is making me fantasize about the amazing pasta and pizza we had last night; they were fantastic.

I think I'd rather approach this with a list of pros and cons:

- nice wait staff;

- VERY CUTE little "English garden" with patio heaters - yea, I know, they're not environmentally friendly, but it's still nice to sit outside and not freeze your butt off thanks to England's miserable climate;

- decently priced wine list;

- the food isn't bad at all. I don't know if I'd eat there every day, but to share an appetizer over a bottle of wine is perfectly acceptable.

As for its negative points:
- they advertise that they sell their wine at "retail prices...," which is utter false advertisement. Yes, the bottles are cheaper than they would be in various other establishments in London, but to prove a point, a bottle of your run of the mill Jadot Macon-Villages (really nice but perhaps a pedestrian white wine) does NOT cost 12.50 pounds, but more along the lines of 8 or 9. And to further piss me off, this bottle is available in the States for 9-10 dollars (4-5 pounds, roughly)....

- the appetizer servings are not very substantial;

- it's absolutely chock-full of Rahs; I guess this should have been more apparent to me from the outset as I was in Chelsea, after all. If I have to listen to that old boy's club, look-at-me-I'm-privately-educated (I am too but I don't feel the need to publicise it or mount the entire existence of my identity on it) accent, I'm going to lose my mind.

Overall though, I think the family that owns this small chain of southwest London-based wine bars has struck upon a formula that works: good decor, decent staff, decent food (if the portion sizes were a bit bigger)... granted, they're the basics of the restaurant business but it sure seems like many restaurant owners and managers forget these very simple things.

All in all, I'd definitely come back. Perhaps with some ear plugs, though, to block out the Sloane Rangers....I think I'd rather approach this with a list of pros and cons:

the service of this restraunt should be one factor why i would like to go here again. the clientle of this restraunt indicated to me that its a well known place, the prices are competitve in some cases but the prices for the rice dishes to me seemed on the higher end marginally but was not a cause of concern, i ordered a vindaloo curry, it was nicely finished, i also had the makhni curry which is worth mentioning, i topped this out with a mango lassi and scoop of choc ice cream for dessert, all in all was good experience. what i must say abt d decor is dat it is a little bold but dat depends whether u like it or not as dey say beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.

abt me i did like it :) ...

Aglio e Olio, a restaurant on the Fulham Road offers excellent Italian food for a reasonable price. The carpaccio as a starter is fantastic, and the pasta dishes for the mains are all excellent as are the meat dishes. The restaurant also offers very good puddings, including the panna cotta and the zabaglione which are both delicious. The restaurant has a convenient location and a nice atmosphere and is a great, not too fancy but not too basic Italian restaurant. Hmm Addies....this is definitely the best thai restaurant in the area.

The food is good quality and good value.
Service is very quick and I imagine they turnaround a lot of tables of an evening.

They also do a take way service if you don't fancy leaving the house and their menu is on-line.(http://www.addiesthai.co.uk/)

There is a bar in the basement which I have not been to but you have to go through to get to the toliets and I think last time I went though it there was karaoke. :-)

Honestly the most disappointing meal I have had in a long time and I was really looking forward to eating here, having heard great things.
The food was bland to the point of tasteless. The staff were polite but when we complained it was clear they have had lots of similar complaints before and made no attempt to work out what had gone wrong.

We came here for my birthday and we've often thought about going here.
The waiters are helpful, the manager did exactly the right protocol for a manager... kept a discreet distance, just making sure everything ticked along correctly and keeping the ambience and pleasure just right.
To go into fine details regarding the food would not do this place justice. It was awesome and we shall definitely go again. Not a cheap night but not overtly expensive for Chelsea

Ben and Howard over at Food and Drink in London (http://londonfood.typepad.com/stuff/best_burger/) are on an on-going quest to find the best burger in London. Diligently and objectively they rate each example from outlets as varied as Ed's Diner and Joe Allen, but still their favourite is that served at HachÃ© in Camden - it gets 14/15, which I'm guessing is pretty hard to top.

Well, I'm not as diligent or objective as the Food and Drink in London boys, and I'm not going to waste my time traipsing around London eating mediocre burgers when all the hard work has been done for me. So on Saturday afternoon, dodging the pouring rain, I walked over Albert Bridge to HachÃ© in Chelsea, the second outlet in the capital after the wildly popular Camden branch.

I have often railed against restaurants that try to be all things to all people, and end up being nothing to anyone. You can spot them a mile off, with their huge yet strangely timid menus, dishes plucked seemingly at random from all corners of the globe with nothing connecting them except a total and spectacular failure in execution. And here, delightfully, at the other end of that scale is HachÃ©, unapologetically selling nothing but burgers and burger accessories. A hundred different types of burgers, sure, made out of anything from venison to lamb to tuna (oh and beef as well of course), but still recognisable as burgers, tasty thick patties inside a toasted bun.

I was just on the verge of ordering the classic 'Au naturel' when the Catalan variation caught my eye, topped with chorizo and spiced with fresh red chilli.

The beef itself was rich and flavoursome and cooked perfectly medium-rare. The chorizo added a lovely crispy layer, and although I could have done with a bit more of a chilli hit this was quickly rectified by dropping in a couple of the tiny red birds-eye chillies that came with a halloumi side. There's absolutely nothing better than the first bite into a huge tasty burger, as you work through the crusty bun, past the crunchy topping and deep into the glistening, moist meat. Add in the extra note from the fiery chillies and this becomes pretty much the best burger I've had in London. Which is pretty much what I was expecting, so it was just as well.

From what I can gather, the variations on the theme served to my fellow diners were just as successful. We were particularly amused by the "low calorie" version which came with just as much gorgeous fatty meat but substituted the top half of the bun for a green salad. I'm guessing the brains behind HachÃ© have decided that if you can convince the local Sloanes that swapping a bit of bread for dressed rocket counts as the healthy option, even if you sneak through just as much of the good stuff, you're on to a winner.

In the same corner of the city that Tom Aitken has decided needs somewhere you can buy a mediocre fish and chips for Â£25, it warms the cockles of the heart to discover there are people willing to serve the best hamburger in London for a measly Â£6.50. As you can probably gather, I really loved HachÃ©, with its straightforward hearty food, sparkling friendly service and bright and trendy dining room. We went twice to Langan's Coq d'Or and both times we loved it. The cuisine tends a lot on the French side but a touch of English cuisine makes the food really unique.

The wines are good too - We had an excellent New Zealand red last time we went and we keep talking about it!

For some reason I hadn't heard about The Painted Heron, despite being an addict of Indian cooking, but have being turned away from Amaya and Roussillon we arrived at the unfashionable end of Cheyne Walk to a most delightful surprise - quite the best Indian cooking I have had - even in India. Actually, it's rather unfair to compare it as it's 'modern' Indian - so cooked according to the European principle of separating tastes and textures, unlike the tendency of Indian cooking to become an undifferentiated hodge-podge of flavours. Each dish was perfection - fillets of sea bass coated in spices and a vegetetarian tasing dish of splendid subtlety and variety. A couple of quibbles - the asparagus was stringy and the wines by the glass could have been of higher quality (a common complaint), but the food, taken together with the sweet and helpful service and charming decor, puts this newish (2002) restaurant into the first league. Confusingly Pucci's Pizza place has moved several times recently but this is the new location for Pucci's famous pizzas:

442 Kings Road, London SW10 0LQ. It is on the corner of Limerston Street, in case you were wondering. It is further down the Kings Road near World's end.

So, new location but I'm pleased to say that they still have the same famous pizzas and also...ahem...the same standard of pretty waitresses (sorry to sound sexist but it is true and part of the reason they are well known).

You can see plenty of reviews over the years to hail the quality of Pucci's heroic pizzas, so I won't go on about it here. I just found out they had moved and thought I would log it here. Interestingly it is hard to find out the new address on the internet but this is officially the correct new pucci pizza address...I even just checked it by telephone and here it is if you want it: 020 7352 2134 (this is actually the same as before).

A nice new feature of this pucci's is that it has outdoor seating, the same old photos but it may be less busy because it is bigger than the older versions and not in quite such a trendy/ convenient position...Confusingly Pucci's Pizza place has moved several times recently but this is the new location for Pucci's famous pizzas:

442 Kings Road, London SW10 0LQ. It is on the corner of Limerston Street, in case you were wondering. It is further down the Kings Road near World's end.

So, new location but I'm pleased to say that they still have the same famous pizzas and also...ahem...the same standard of pretty waitresses (sorry to sound sexist but it is true and part of the reason they are well known).

You can see plenty of reviews over the years to hail the quality of Pucci's heroic pizzas, so I won't go on about it here. I just found out they had moved and thought I would log it here. The best feature about Vingt Quatre is its' famed opening hours: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 52 weeks a year.

The food is simple and it specialises in simple food - mainly breakfasts. However, Vingt Quatre comes into its own when you are not ready to go to bed and everything else is closed. It is a great bit of London knowledge and comes into use every now and then. It is in the lively part of the Fulham road cheesily known, or once known, as 'The Beach'. Hidden behind a couple of parked double decker bus bays, this is a brilliant cafe in the Worlds End area of Kings Road. It gets the sun in the morning which is pleasant if you're in the 1st floor glass roofed bit. I think you can book the upstairs bit.

It's got a greasy joe feel but the menu totally breaks out of that typecast. It's the longest breakfast menu I've ever seen outside of San Francisco! My favourite is scrambled eggs with fresh asparagus and toast. They do vegetarian breakfasts and whopping american breakfasts with waffles, maple syrup, cream and ham.

Had one dodgy experience there: they sell wrapped muffins which they probably buy in. I found a pubic hair sticking out of mine! They offered me a replacement one or something else instead. I chose the something else!

Music a bit loud sometimes. I've been to Friends a few times, and the food is always good! I like their pizza, nice big and very Italian. They do the "thin" version of the pizza, not the typical neapolitanean one. And it's good.

They also have a good choice of Primi and Secondi Piatti. And Antipasti of course. Last time I went I had a Sformatino di Melanzane as a starter: IT WAS DELICIOUS! I am still thinking about it!!! And they also had a very very good and rich Zuppa di Pesce.

They do have a good selection of wine as well, not just the typical Italian Chianti and Valpollicella...

The place is very nice, warm colors and nice atmosphere....even though it can get a bit too uncomfortable if you are in 2 and they put you in a small table in the middle of the restaurant...I've been to Friends a few times, and the food is always good! Feng Sushi on Fulham Road is a very good option for a quick sushi eat in or take away. Actually if you live in the area I'd definitely recommend it for those evening when you really don't want to cook and sushi is what you're craving for! The restaurant is very nice, very small though.
