The real find is "The Gallows Restaurant" upstairs. The food is superb there and as a veggie I'm always surprised with the decent choice they offer outside the usual "red onion and goat cheese tart" cliches.

With a table over looking the river you won't want to be anywhere else. One of the best spots in London to enjoy a pint. Right in the middle of St Kaths docks so it gets a lot of tourist trade. Outdoor area is not great (in front of the pub and enclosed from the dock) but I regularly enjoy a few pints inside - some comfy chairs if you're there early.Big "old" 3 storey pub with wooden beams and lots of room inside.
Dickens Inn - Grill on the Dock - Lunch at St Katharine's Dock by sue

We were given a friendly greeting and seated on a nice table on the balcony, overlooking the dock.

The food was ok - not amazing, but entirely edible. My MIL and I had the Deep Fried Cod Fillet in lime batter with minted mushy peas and chunky chips, and hubby had the Salmon, Prawn & Rocket fish cakes with chips. The Cod was the right choice and the peas were particularly tasty.

We washed it down with an icy bottle of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. I would recommend it as a nice place for lunch on a summery day.On a sunny summer day when my mother-in-law (MIL) was visiting from Sydney we found ourselves at Tower Bridge around lunch time came up with the brilliant idea of going to St Katharine's Dock for some food - the perfect place to take the MIL as it is pretty and something a little different.

The Dickens Inn seemed to beckon us with its flower covered exterior, so we checked out the menus of its two restaurants and decide on the top floor 'Grill on the Dock'.
