Came here on Monday night to exploit my tastelondon card with the 2 for 1 offer. Out of the Blue is an independent restaurant and from looking at reviews it is quite popular with the locals. The restaurant had a homely feel with low lighting and mismatched wooden furniture. Not sure i'd be able to sit in my wicker chair for more than a couple of hours though and some of the tables were really close together - so i was impressed that the waitresses could get round them. The menu was divided into two parts - one section had heavier meals, your standard starters, mains, and puddings. On the other side were smaller tapas like plates, 5 of which we decided to go for. We ordered the battered halloumi cheese, the rocket and grapefruit salad, the lamb kebabs, the nachos and the chicken burritos. All were delicious and i had nothing to fault them for. I particulary liked the rocket and grapefruit sald with parmesan - great combination of flavours. However, after having the 5 dishes we were still hungry and we ordered a plate of fries. I liked the way the dishes had their own touches - for example the fries had parsley and garlic on them. You could tell that care had gone into making them. This is fabulous newly opened restaurant in SW16. If you love great food at a reasonable price then you're in heaven! They make the scrumptous "to die for" pizzas in their fire wood ovens and the ingredients are all fresh and very tasty! The Thai is situated on Old York Road in Wandsworth Town, a pretty little road with lots of restarants, cafes and bars, but in my opinion, The Thai is the best of the bunch. It is one of my favourite restaurants in London.
I have eaten here many times and one of my favourite options is to have a set menu, as you get a taste of lots of starters and mains. The starters usually include a delicious, tender satay chicken on a kebab stick, crispy, tasty prawn sesame toast, rich, flavoursome Thai fish cakes, which are really, really tasty, as well as a couple or other things like spring rolls, won tons, and chicken wings. All really tasty and a good start to any meals,
The Thai curries here are really delicious. My favourite is the Penang curry, which is based on a red curry, but a bit richer, more aromatic and more flavoursome. The green curry here is as good as you can expect anywhere. The chicken is really the pad their is lovely, really tasty and anarchy. In fact, I have never had a bad meal here!
I have only ever had good experiences, with the service here. The start are always very attentive and on-the â¬ball. tender and delicious.

This was the first Michelin starred restaurant which my husband and I had been to, and we certainly weren't disappointed.

We had an early evening booking on a bank holiday weekend, so weren't too crowded, but I imagine it could get a bit squashed when it's fully booked.

However, that would be my only negative - the food and the service were great. Every dish was absolutely lovely. I had fish and my husband had rabbit, and both were cooked to perfection. But the thing that we really talked about for weeks afterwards was the astonishing cheeseboard, which was huge and varied. It was tough to choose which ones to try, but the lady serving the cheese was very knowledgeable and really helped us to make the best selections.

The Olive Garden in Southfields is a great restaurant, often full of local South African customers.

The portions are generous, and the menu has all the favourite plus a few special things for the slightly more adventurous. The seafood risotto is always popular!

The takeaways specials are really good value for money, as well.

Decor is simple but smart, and the chairs are comfy - the space between tables can get a bit pinched when there's a big party in with you, but generally folks are good humoured about it.

Staff are friendly. Wine list is fair.

It depends on individual taste really, but I would recommend for you to give this place a try.

We returned for the themed Normandy night in April (the next 'themed' evening is on 30 April '08: 5 course gastronomique menu).
The food was excellent - fish pate and an amuse-bouche of a glass of warm liquid asparagus (you could call it soup!) before the main three courses: marinated herrings; Normandy chicken on mash (with cider and cream, of course) or an exceptionally lovely lemon sole dish in a creamy mushroom sauce; and pear in puff pastry or a marvellous array of French cheeses including a really runny Saint Marcellin; and coffee. I haven't had a better cheese board even IN France, never mind out of it!

Food at Ditto is half price when you use a TasteLondon card. So we made the most of it and chose scallops and beef carpaccio followed unanimously by lobster spaghetti. Awesome.

Sorry I am afraid the lobster isn't available...

Well why print it on your daily menu then? Unless of course your menu isn't daily even though that's its title!

They promised so much and got our hopes up and then dashed them out of hand. You might think this is overdoing it a bit. But the last time I had lobster spaghetti was at the George in Stamford when I pretty much fell in love with it! To then get within inches of having it again and then be denied it was hard to take. I'll just have to wait till I'm on the Italian Riviera sipping chilled white wine and looking out at my yacht to do it properly.

Scallops came with grilled prawns and an avocado dressing. It looked and tasted pretty but was neither hot nor cold and was fairly wimpy on the flavour front. Big plates and lots of swishes and dabs of sauce. Very Turner prize.

With the lobster spaghetti debacle behind us, I chose pork belly with white beans and a dark sauce which is firmly ensconced now as my default choice. If it's on the menu I will struggle not to order it and normally fail. It takes something exciting like lobster to trump it!

The pork was partly delicious partly disappointing. It struck me that it had been badly reheated. Dried out patches clashed with moist bits. The beans were both perfectly soft and also dried out. The sauce was a bit unidentifiable. My memory of it is that it was dark brown with a hint of sweetness. The best bit was the side order of garlic spinach.

Gilly's rump of lamb was generous and sweet. Really impressive. Whilst Cowie's tuna was pink and tasty. Very light and sexy. Very Cowie.

It's a very cool little restaurant with a variety of special offers. Tuesday is ladies' night - 25% off if you're a bird. They've got a projector and screen and art all over the walls. On a Tuesday night it was a third full and we enjoyed being allowed to linger of our meal. Whilst slurping our coffees we imagined what it would be like to enlarge the bar area and make the dining room more intimate. But who were we to offer design ideas!

Frankie's is in my phone memory. It's my default restaurant for catching up with friends. It's reliable venue for food, service and atmosphere. Ladies love the half portions of pasta. If this place was any closer to our house it would be our living room. It says something when you can access your own wifi connection in your local pub!

Great selection of beers including Timmy Taylors which is served from a bizarre pumping contraption! All the usual continental lagers are here too. The wine selection impressive too. Although I'm definitely not a rose man... I've been forced to get to like it here as a good friend always orders it. And you know what... their rose is great.

We often have our Sunday meal here as a house and have never been let down. Their roasts are excellent and if their steak or pork belly is on the menu then you're in luck!

The vibe is informal and relaxed. Leather chairs and wooden floors with a dining area around the back. We've made good friends over the past year or so with the staff and are keen for them to install a plaque on a favourite table!

Regulars include Johnnie Vaughan who often comes here with his bulldog for a quiet pint of Guinness.

Wok Wok on Battersea Rise is a complete winner. We live just around the corner and have never once been let down by them in terms of delivery time or quality of food.

Their red thai beef, chicken and duck are all very good indeed. And I can highly recommend their beef in black bean sauce.

Yia Mas is a very small local resturant run by a very friendly Cypriot family and their lovely head waiter who delivers service with a smile.

It's very quait with lovely modern decor (nice leather seats) hand written menu's and great food which seems to be good value for money.

Every time I visit, I can't go past the mini mezze special at just under Â£15 per person (min of 2). It gives you a taste of everything and is just delicious. I always over eat and leave feeling like I have over indulged but OMG is it worth it.

You have to book on a Friday or Saturday night or risk disappointment, but mid week the resturant is really quiet so perfect for an inimate dinner.

Sadly the resturant is closed on Sundays.

I only know about this place because I once lived very close by. For those not in the local area or without a car, Yia Mas is about a 7 minute wallk from East Putney tube or on the 37 and 337 bus routes but well worth the journey.

If you can't get in, or you just want something quick to eat, you can eat in at the takeaway/noodle bar next door - the food comes from the same kitchen with generous bowls of soup and noodle dishes - same quality, but the presentation is rather more basic than in the restaurant... across the street and under the railway bridge is Amaranth's supermarket/deli where you can buy all the ingredients to make the dishes yourself, or buy the ready-prepared dishes to heat up at home.The food here is great - but it is, understandably, always busy and booking is essential. A real find and probably the best place in the Earlsfield/Wimbledon area, according to locals. Last time I had had a wonderful dish of linguine and a delicious bottle of one of the house wines - Locatella Fruili (a reasonble £5 by the glass). The chef - Sabatini - comes from Cecconi's and cooks their sublime 'tagliolini verdi gratinati' on special days. This time my wife had 'linguine con vongole', which is often done indifferently, but was totally delicious, while I had the pasta of the day - taglioni stuffed with crab and lobster - which was good, though perhaps the sauce was a little predictable. The light and airy room, open whenever the weather allows, and the friendly but very experienced service made it an exceptional experience. Pretty reasonable at £66 for two including four glasses of wine included salads and two pannacottas swimming in enough grappa to induce my wife to kiss the maitre d' on leaving.

This is a small husband and wife sushi restaurant (Mr and Mrs Longisland).

I first tried out this place 3 years ago before I'd had sushi anywhere else and remembered it as being delicious and I went back 2 days ago for lunch and it is just as good as I thought even though I've had some pretty decent stuff now. I wanted to go back for dinner!

It's not too expensive at all for the quality. They have a good selection of different sushi and sashimi including daily specials and they sometimes even have the more rare melt-in-your-mouth "toro" aka fatty tuna.

I really can't recommend this place enough if you want good sushi at affordable prices. (The Chirashi Zushi is superb).This is a small husband and wife sushi restaurant (Mr and Mrs Longisland).

The newly refurbished Brasserie has a a light and airy feel with a fabulous choice of french dishes and a great choice of fish dishes. ( I go out with a guy who is a piscatarian so this place is a real find).
We went on the bank holiday and the vibe was very relaxed but you can just go for cocktails and coffee. The place has a lovely fresh decor and the staff are french. Its not hustle bustle but I can imagine it gets pretty booked up at the weekend.
