Definitely recommend dinning at Carvossoâ¬"s, excellent value for top quality food and wine. My starter pate foie gras de canard with tasty blackcurrant jam was impeccable . My main dish of hoggish braised pork melted in my mouth, the crackling was just perfect, absolutely delicious. A fabulously selection of fine wines, we selected a bottle of Ripasso , a lovely refined red wine. No room for the selection of wonderful desserts, but I did manage to have a couple of spoonful of my partnerâ¬"s chocolate fudge cake yummy. The staff were very friendly and efficient. What a great way to spend a night out in the town in a beautiful restaurant in a relaxed, friendly and fun atmosphere with excellent food and wine. Well done to Carvossoâ¬"s.

What can you say, its a pub. Sunday lunch is nice here. Last time i went the Guiness was appalling

Didn't show any FA cup footy (setanta) but apart from that nothing much.

It has seats outside so you can watch the main road, and the cars driving by, and occasionally stopping as there are some traffic lights further up from the pub.

Dropping in for lunch one quiet afternoon I was immediately impressed by the period/contemporary decor - giant chandeliers and rustic wooden furniture. Beautiful island bar in the middle of the room and a large atrium at the back. The service was fast, friendly, efficient and the food was excellent. The menu is a refreshing mix of fairly unfashionable Spanish favourites, some offbeat numbers I wasn't brave enough to try and modern British food: I had paella and my companion the steak and chips. I hardly ever recall what I ate in a restaurant so it's testament to this place that I am still dreaming of that paella, it was exceptional. I wish I had a local as good as this. Bigger and only slighter brighter than its Ealing counterpart, the Chiswick Headliners club is also tucked away so that you feel as if, when entering, only you will know where it is. You go through the pub at the front to enter it where it opens up into a large dimly lit room. An expensive bar selling soft and alcoholic drinks as well as pretty good bar snacks like nachos and roasted nuts. not as intimate as Ealing but still a good night out with very funny comedians gracing the stage (in the past they have had Rich Hall and Bill Bailey). This gastropub most definately serves some of the best pub food in Chiswick! The menu is monthly changing with daily specials, the background music plays softly over the hum drum of expectant voices, the staff are extremely helpful and friendly and, the ricky old furniture adds character and atmosphere to this charming pub! Their wine list is interesting and extensive with 12 by the glass, they have a good selection of lagers and always have 3 real ales on at a time.
The 'Antipastiâ¬" which comprises chicken liver crostinis, polpettini, mozzarella & roast tomato salad is a great starter to share and my grilled lamb chops with couscous and
cucumber yoghurt was absolutely spectacular.
The Swan has an emormous well looked after beer garden which I an sure brings in the crowds in droves and has definately enticed me to come back in the summer - if not before!

The Devonshire is Gordon Ramsay's latest gastropub venture, located in leafy Chiswick, and we dined there one arctic evening with friends. You enter into a cosy bar area, which has comfy looking couches and two (gas) fireplaces. The dining area runs down one side of the pub, and tightly packed tables ensure you will get to 'enjoy' the stink of your neighbours cheese plate whether you want to or not.

Smelly cheese aside, the atmosphere is buzzy but not too loud for conversation, and the dÃ©cor is more restaurant than gastropub - the tables and chairs all matched for example. The Devonshire is billed as a gastropub however, which I had to keep reminding myself in relation to the service, which was amateurish and uninterested for the most part. The prices however were cheaper than many of the other gastropubs in the area.

To the food. To start we had the Leek and Potato soup with poached egg, and the Soft Herring Roes on toast. The soup was nothing special, but the poached egg was an added bonus. Sarah seemed to thoroughly enjoy her Herring Roes, which was a dish I had never seen before.

Main courses were the Game Keeperâ¬"s Venison pie with baby carrots and turnips (the creamy pastry was the highlight), Braised Gloucester pig cheeks with mashed neeps (another dish I wasn't familiar with), and the Lamb Rump with roasted rosemary parsnips and spinach (delicious, but could have done with more vegetables). We couldn't resist a side order of Chips which were very moreish.

Desserts were the Lemon posset with shortbread, the Chocolate pudding, and the Sticky Toffee Pudding. The latter was a disappointment - we had to return the first one as it was cold, the replacement was a good temperature but very average on the Sue STP scale.

Found this place by complete accident. we were heading out of town after seeing a show & decided to stop for food before hitting the M1.

Since changing hands early 2007 (or late 2006) the Barley Mow has become a great pub, serving a huge range of beers/lagers and with some good food. Sunday lunches are pretty damn good there.

With a huge outside space it's rare to see any seats free as people use this pub as a meeting place/starting place (and usually end up there all night anyway)..

A relaxed and friendly atmosphere adds to the new Barley Mow look and feel and you can even catch some sports for the big game occasions. Staff are helpful and inside the pub you can find a range of games machines, pool tables and old but comfortable sofas to plonk yourself onto.

Ok, so a 5/5 for the Stag. But (yes there is a but) this pub is what I would call a REAL pub.

It's got 9 huge TV screens for sport, a must when there are multiple games on that you want to watch - one even sits against the window for all of the outside smokers so you really can't get away from them..

It serves Harp extra cold.. Now I don't know any other pub in London that serves this delight...

It's got a great pool table. A proper pool table made from the kind of slate that came out of the earth 2 miles deep.

Ok.. So I could go on but I'll wrap this up. A working mans pub that serves real beer for real people. Don't go there with your high heals on thinking you'd get a nice Sunday lunch..

I went to Pickwicks for the first time recently and I loved it! This small bar is filled with characterâ¬¦.and was filled with happy punters when we rocked up at around 11pm on a Friday night.

The few wines I had drunk earlier in the evening may have had 'something' to do with my immediate love for the place....that and the fact that there was a major sing-a-long happening - a talented guy was doing an excellent job strumming his guitar and a singing all of those classics that are guaranteed to get the crowd joining in.

There was no chance of us getting a seat, so we just milled around, a beer/wine in hand, making new friends and singing a tune or two.
