Of more interest is the room next door with an amazingly good selection of new coffee table and reference books. Theres always some fabulous stuff here, mouthwatering books at incredible prices. The manager/owner has a good eye for whats cool and interesting. Kind of what separates a good bookshop from a run-of-the-mill books for cash place. They keep the rare books near the checkout and other second hand books in the first space as you walk into the shop. Filling its shelves with prime book meat. Now its a one shop store and its still pretty good, depending on whats arrived that week - bargains in the basement - and assorted others upstairs - and fun things in the window. Great old style secondhand bookshop that can be a musty treasure trove.During the Golden age of Charing Cross Road this was a two shop franchise that sucked in torrents of great books. Not only does it have ample sectins for the more obscure reaches of literature like its huge collection of tales in old english, latin and greek (and their translations) but it also includes a fabulous second hand section where books that maybe too expensive of simply hard to find, are available, which is an invaluable resource to the thousands of students who utilise the bookshop. One criticism would be the staff who seemed absent and not quite together, however it was a sunday afternoon. The second hand section is somewhat over whelming but very useful all the same and the rest of the book shop is easy to use and well organised. This enormous branch of the chain of book shops Waterstones, is perfectly suited to its location right next door to most of the university of london. You couldn't select a more unusual setting for a busy museum with some huge, heavy rolling stock. The LT Museum used to be a place where excited children would take their exasperated grand parents, but since the refurb a few years ago, the museum has grown into a really exciting, interesting destination for all ages. The many interactive displays make it feel more like the Science Museum and the nostalgia of many of the every-day items from buses and tube trains give it a homely, familiar feel.

I think that this part of the Covent Garden market buildings used to be used by flower sellers. The outside has been nicely preserved and the inside has been transformed into one of my favourite tourist destinations in central London. The Museum has also ventured out onto the cobbled Piazza with a small cafe - lovely muffins and Danish, good coffee and a lively setting. Some of the unregulated street entertainers can be a bit of a pain (too loud and boring) but the afternoon sunshine in this corner makes for a great place to rest and be entertained.

When you're visiting with Children, you only pay for the adult admission, as under 16s still go free! (that's why granny and grandpa always get dragged down to Covent Garden by their little angels, perhaps!)
Brilliant destination in the heart of Covent Garden. Another fabulous find included in the London Pass, the maze layout of the Pollock Toy Museum enhances the feeling of exploration. Unfortunately this means it is not wheelchair friendly, and may prove difficult for the less mobile (my gran would determinedly struggle through but require medical assistance after) which is a shame as the array of toys on show is wonderful. As a nod to their global visitors, there is a selection of older toys from various countries across the globe, each displayed in a different segment (the displays are not merely contained within rooms but span the entire building- walls, stairs and all!). May not be suitable for the younger children who would prefer to just play with the toys, but a joy for the older children and the little child hidden in every adult. Not the easiest of places to find- a detailed map is needed to locate this particular gem, unless a handy taxi driver locates it for you.
