The British Museum - people by Artemidor

I love being there, because the ancient part is a feast for the eyes. Where else could you see Egyptian pharaohs, the doors of Mesopotamia and the Parthenon? The eyes of Ramesses II look at you and you suddently feel so tiny and unimportant. It is a very humbling experience.

The worst part: kids and uninterested tourists hanging around. They touch everything (including 2000 years old pieces) and bother other people. My complain is that the staff at the museum does not show them the way out as often as they should. But it is free, and we have to accept others.
Enjoy the British Museum when it is empty. I love being there, because the ancient part is a feast for the eyes.
Sister Ray - Great little shop by claireymr

Filled with obscure breaking bands' debuts and classics, you'll definitely find what you want. The best thing about this place is the staff, because they're always ready to help you find that single you couldn't find in the nearby HMV or newly christened zavvi (but why would you be there anyway?), and are quick, polite and are always willing to help. Also puts on the occasional instore performance to entertain customers, which is how I first found out about this place. Well worth exploring the side roads off Oxford Street to find shops as good as this one. With shelves stacked full of 7"s behind the counter, Sister Ray is everything a record shop should be. Another fabulous find included in the London Pass, the maze layout of the Pollock Toy Museum enhances the feeling of exploration. Unfortunately this means it is not wheelchair friendly, and may prove difficult for the less mobile (my gran would determinedly struggle through but require medical assistance after) which is a shame as the array of toys on show is wonderful. As a nod to their global visitors, there is a selection of older toys from various countries across the globe, each displayed in a different segment (the displays are not merely contained within rooms but span the entire building- walls, stairs and all!). May not be suitable for the younger children who would prefer to just play with the toys, but a joy for the older children and the little child hidden in every adult. Not the easiest of places to find- a detailed map is needed to locate this particular gem, unless a handy taxi driver locates it for you. Thus, trains, particular underground trains & buses are on display. There is also a short history of the construction of the undeground system.

Not just for children , but for adults who are of an age to remember travelling on some of the means of transport now sadly out of service. A really good nostalgic and VERY informative afternoon. Lots of interactivity for all ages, plenty of loos and a REALLY good shop!
The best aspect of this museum is its location - right in COvent garden Plaza.

Thus, must tourist might pop in it, and therefore, give a look.

Indeed, as the museum's name suggest, it is dedicated to the transport.
