I first came to this restaurant about 27 years ago before I was married. I am still coming now; the only difference is I am married with three grown up children. The food is excellent. Lee and his family always make you welcome
(The children always get free ice cream).
If you are looking for some where to eat in Stratford which is really good and cheap this is the place to go. They also do takeaways.
You won't be disappointed and I am sure you will visit againâ¬¦â¬¦â¬¦..

This is a great pub for this part of East London, you probably wont find one as nice with such a great selection of beers/vino's etc or with some yummy food!

The Sunday roast is boom - we had roast pork, the servings are HUGE though, so be sure to leave some room for your lager..

Recommended by a friend as been great food but pricey we tried India Gate and haven't looked back since!

words can't describe how wonderful the food tastes!
The service is fantastic, whether your first or eleventh visit.
With 2 young children we've never been made to feel any more at ease or welcome to a restaurant as we do here.

Its simply THE best India restaurant we've been to!Recommended by a friend as been great food but pricey we tried India Gate and haven't looked back since!

Rating: 2.00What with a hundred nations of the world all selling fast food takeaways in the area, Stratford doesnâ¬"t really â¬ do cafÃ© society for some reason, although I suppose CafÃ© Mondo is in its own way, a brave attempt. But itâ¬"s brave, cramped and flawed. There are too many tinny, easily-knock-overable tables crammed into too small a space, and the staff don't seem to make a very great effort to actually serve the customers either. I found the food / beverage ordering process in itself to be a bit of a mystery and somewhat frustrating. Are you supposed to wait at a table? If you do, nobody seems to take much notice of you. Are you supposed to wait at the till? In that case someone is guaranteed to ask you to please sit down again.

Maybe things have improved since I last visited. Maybe a visitâ¬"s more enjoyable if youâ¬"re already familiar with the ins and outs of the place. Goodness knows it certainly has enough old-hand devotees, and they all seem very fond of it for some reason.

Rating: 3.00I am not sure what to do about this place to be honest. The food was not too bad. I have had better and I have had worse, but I must admit my stomach felt a little dodgy the next morning. I was not overly impressed with the service. The waiter was not great, and the restaurant itself was fairly quiet, which I guess tells it's own story. On the plus side, the food did not take long to be prepared, and the dessert was quite nice and tasty. The decor in the place was of typical standard and the music that was being played was ok as well. I would give the restaurant five out of ten. The Goose On The Broadway - A Less than Olympic experience... by rich42uk

Given that Stratford is to host the 2012 Olympics, much still needs to be if the Goose on Broadway is representative.

Whilst sticking the to the tried and tested formula of other 'Goose' pubs, the tired and sad-looking decor here only serves to heighten what can only be described as an air of decay and entropy. The beer is cheap and so the clientele seems to consist of the elderly, the homeless and cheapskate Albanian gangster giving it an atmosphere more reminiscent of a local authority day-centre than a pub. It's not a rough place though, just a sad one...

The staff seem suicidal (with some cause) and the pub itself somewhat cavernous which only accentuates the quiet despair it exhudes. Quite possibly the only time I've ever been to the pub in high spirits and returned gloomily simply because of the ambience.
