This was my first experence here and my god how bad was it food was average at best and was rushed in and out in 40 mins thats starter main and drinks!

This is my nearest thai restaurant. I live less than a mile away but when I rang to order some food for delivery I was told that it was too far. When I, politely, went on to say that we were not far at all I was promptly hung up on. I would not recommend this place at all purely on the basis of such appalling treatment for a first time customer. They are also hugely expensive, which I was prepared to overlook if it was good. I have been eating pizza at Eco for maybe 20 years - a long time, certainly. And until recently I never ate less than decently and more often than not ate really well. Sometimes their pizzas were brilliant - a real joy sufficient to bring a contented smile to everyone. Then the last time I went, for lunch Sunday, it was no longer so. Oddly, it was half empty - Sunday used to be a bunfight to get a table. We ordered a piccante and a mozzarella di buffalo and they were, well, adequate. But the cheese was that nasty plastic stuff and the tomato sauce was thin in both taste and consistency. The quality of the rest of the ingredients was also lower than it used to be. Tucked away in Brixton's back streets and yet only a stone's throw from the tube, Fujiyama's is a gem of a place, serving Japanese food including sushi and bento boxes, ramen, noodles and rice dishes. The plum wine is especially recommended! Busy and popular, you can choose to eat in, sitting at long tables next to complete strangers, or take advantage of Fujiyama's takeaway service (they will deliver within a three mile radius). The food is fresh and cooked to order, and has a loyal following. Ended up here Saturday afternoon as Eco - the pizza place across the road - was having a power cut. Seriously enjoyed the ribs which was a surprise - was thinking they might be a bit horrible based on the burger/chain/american prejudice that normally steers me away from such places. The beer was utterly tasteless, but the beef ribs were meaty, juicy and very flavoursome. For sociable Thai canteen-style dining. Can be crowded on Friday and Saturday evenings - be prepared to queue.

Once inside, you sit at the shared benches. Service is good, without frills. Main courses are about Â£6 each, with rice an additional Â£2 or so. There is a small selection of wines and the usual beers and soft drinks to go with your meal.

The food is very good, pretty authentic Thai style. Especially good are the red curries (look out for the duck red curry special - great!) and the pad thai noodles.

Thoroughly recommended if you're in the Clapham Common area and need a quick and reasonably priced bite to eat. Food tastes great and not loaded with salt + MSG like most places. Service is excellent and delivery service is usually on time.

Been eating in Indian Flavours from the early days, nice too see the assistant chef has progressed to head chef. Most of the worker have been there for a long time. It shows consistency and loyalty, that's good for business and the customers. A fantastic spot just on Clapham High Street (it's only a few minutes walk from Clapham North). There is outdoor seating on the high street where you can sit and people watch all afternoon!
Inside you can choose to sit in the restaurant side or the bar side; there is an excellent selection of beers on offer (the name kind of gives it away!!) and I would recommend the raspberry flavoured one.
We chose to eat in the restaurant and were quickly seated by the friendly staff, despite it being a busy Saturday evening. Our waitress was extremely helpful and gave us some tips on what to order... boyfriend went for the steak which was cooked to perfection while I opted for the Mussels.. cooked in a garlicky sauce they were very impressive! I got a huge portion and some bread to soak up the sauce..

The good: this is a cool Chinese restaurant that blends the speed of a Chinese take away speed with eat a more traditional Chinese restaurant. The service is quick, the plates a very big and the variety as well. The dishes come with largely chopped meats (or seafood), vegetables, etc., which makes it more mouth watering. If you order a soup, they are very filling with plenty of ingredients to complement the noodles. Always tables available and they donÂ´t pressure you to leave when youÂ´re finished.

Just went to the Satay with a group of friends. Was a bit of an oasis amongst Brixton. The food was delicious, the cocktails were er... strong and tasty and the staff were really friendly and attentive. What more could you ask for? We had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The Friday night we went was packed so I would recommend booking. I am not sure about the comment below about it being a nightclub. There were no deejays and the music was in the background rather than pumping. The stencil work in and outside was very cool too, a bit Banksy'ish. We went there last night for the Wednesday banquet. Â£14 for a starter, main, rice/naan and a side dish. Not a bad price on the face of it.

However we were charged over Â£12 for popadums, which we were led to believe were complimentary, (only 5 of us eating) and Â£4.5 for one still water!!

Worst of all the waiter was very unsubtly shaking up bottles of beer that were going out on a delivery order which he seemed to find hilarious. I nearly walked out after I saw that, not exactly what you would call professional service.

Earlier last February, I had a long awaited catch up meeting with my girls from school. Having eaten and loved the food at El Rincon years ago I thought it would be the ideal session to have this catch-up session where we'd be loud and laughing for most of the time.

It was a great night, the place was pretty empty being a Tuesday but i'm sure we filled it with our presence. We ordered choosing two dishes per person which we shared. Everything tasted great and was so fresh not like the drivel you get in La Tasca these days. The dishes were big so two per person was enough - my favourites were the croquettes and the gambas. We came as a group of 10 people and overall everyone was really satisfied with their respective meals. While the restaurant is crowded in the typical French style, we had the benefit of a very large, rustic picnic table in the back and had lots of room to move around.

The service was good and I was surprised since I had read a number of reviews where people had been dissatisfied, but we were really quite pleased - and it is difficult to serve a group of 10 people!

Nothing absolutely fabulous or divine, but definitely an enjoyable meal of good quality and a kitschy atmosphere - if I lived in Clapham, I would go back. I really enjoyed the meal there and we left quite happy.

Mains range between 11 and 20 pounds and run the gamut of typical French brasserie fare; moules frites, entrecote, soupe a l'oignon... you know what I mean. Slightly novel (to me, anyway), their dessert options (mousse, creme brulee, etc) on the menu can be chosen in 2 options; either the dessert itself, for about 4,75, or the dessert and a small serving of dessert wine, at 6,75. On Saturday night after watching some teenage girls perform some flashy dance routines for charity, the Barrister fancied tapas. So i thought we could go to Rebato's which was reccommended by my Spanish teacher as being the best tapas in London - and she had tried many places.

Rebatos is situated at the end of a long row of Portugese shops, bars and restaurants as you walk down South Lambeth Road from Vauxhall Station - the walk will take you a good 7 minutes. The restaurant itself is decorated in a traditional spanish style with the tapas bar in the front and the formal dining room in the back. Arriving at about 7pm, we were able to sit at one of the few tables and stools in the bar area. It got very busy later on. Service was prompt though a bit scatty - the waiters hovered around us like flies at the beginning but we had to ask three times to get our bill. The tapas menu offered much of what a spanish tapas place would offer for about Â£4.75 a dish but there also was a good selection of specials which the waiter read out. Off the specials menu we choose the grilled gambas, grilled razor clam, the oxtail and the suckling pigs liver. We also chose the chorizo sausage, artichokes and the croquettes. I did enjoy most of it especially the seafood - which were succulent and fresh. The croquettes were tasty too - perfectly crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Wasn't keen on the suckling pig's liver as it was far too strong for my liking. And the waiter gave a bit too much information away when he said the chorizo was microwaved....leaving me to wonder what else was?

Overall a nice night out - Rebato's brings me back to fond memories of Spain. But in my humble opinion, El Rincon Latino in Clapham is my favourite tapas place although its been awhile since I've been back. I must go soon and check it out...! I knew of The Sequel from past pre-shopping coffee/brunch dates with gal pals but had never been for dinner, so thought I would give it a go on a Tuesday evening with a friend of mine.

I can't complain about a thing!

The venue I think is over looked as it's just off the main street in Clapham Common but is a treasure of a find, just next to the Picture House. It's got a lovely warm, classy feeling to the place. Old black and white movies playing in the background, comfy leather wall sofa seating and split level from the bar, with a slightly more intimate vibe that would suit a date or more sedate drinks with friends.

To start my friend had the scallop skewers with Italian ham - melt in the mouth, while I had the Calamari which was good but wasn't sure about the battered vegetables though, bit of a weak attempt at tempura style I think?

Mains we both had beef, he had the 8oz steak with rockfort infused butter, roasted red onions, dauphinoise potatoes. While I had the fillet with smoked bacon, savoy cabbage, creamed mashed potatoes, sharing a side of steamed spinach and brocolli. The meat was cooked to perfection and was of great quality, both meals were delicious.

For dessert, I had the chocolate and hazelnut tart, that was lightly drizzled in a kumkwat and mint honey like sauce. I don't really have a sweet tooth and thought I'd struggle after starters and mains but this was light and so yummy it was gone before i even realised!! My friend had the sticky toffee pudding with homemade vanilla ice cream, that he said was worth coming back for alone. Have you noticed how neither of us shared any of our food haha!?

The service was quite slow, considering there was only a few other diners BUT that suited us fine as we were in no rush and enjoyed our entire meal.

The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming without being intrusive or over bearing (something that the manager at 409's, at the other end of the high street, could learn from!)

I reserved one star purely because I didn't get to sample the wine or cocktails - as we just drank sparkling water, or did I just do that so I have yet another reason to return! ; )

With my TasteLondon card, ALL that food came to under Â£35 for the 2 of us! You really can't go wrong can you?

The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming without being intrusive or over bearing (something that the manager at 409's, at the other end of the high street, could learn from!)

I reserved one star purely because I didn't get to sample the wine or cocktails - as we just drank sparkling water, or did I just do that so I have yet another reason to return! ; )

With my TasteLondon card, ALL that food came to under Â£35 for the 2 of us! You really can't go wrong can you?

The Sequel also has a sister restaurant, just opposite called The Rapscallion that I'm yet to visit but is now very high on my list!

The reviews I have read about tsunami have been mixed from delicious, must go, to expensive, nothing special, don't bother.

I loved it. You could go and have a relatively cheap meal - order a range of appetisers with a few friends and eat tapas style - and with 20% if you order before 7pm, you could easily get away under Â£15 per person with a cheeky glass of wine.

The tempura was delicious, and the serves were huge. The seabass was divine and the eggplant with sesame - well, I would go back just for that. I took a group of friends there, and it was a bit pricey, because we completely over ordered, they all raved about the food.

I very rarely feel compelled to write a restaurant review, but the Maharani deserves one.

It is foul. I have eaten here before and really enjoyed it, however I went yesterday and was gob smacked when I was served damp poppadums and flat tonic water in my G&T coupled with two rather haggard flies!

When I started to put some of the usual sundries (mango chutney etc) onto my poppadum I noticed that the spoon was filthy (like it had been there for years). Then, to my horror I discovered two flies distributed deep in the chutney. I know you kind of always figure that the mango chutney, lime pickle etc get re-used, but this was awfully disgusting!

When I complained that this was not what I had expected, I was met with grunts and blathering about how I had started drinking the gin and tonic and so would have to pay for all of the drinks.

It is family run, traditional with a modern feel. Warm, bright and friendly - great selection of pizzas and the calzone is delicious, worlds away from the greasy delivery pizzas or bland run of the mill Pizza Express offerings. The portions are very generous and the seafood is always fresh and tasty - especially the mussels and calamari!

Not your usual bland, run of the mill Itai' - oh no!

It suits all occassions be it a date, group of mates or chilled sunday dinner with the folks.
