Coming here was a bit more traumatic than I had ever expected. Don't get me wrong, I occasionally go clubbing in GAY Astoria and it's fine, I have plenty of fun but I've never been made to feel so insignificant in my life! We were all dancing in a group drinking but whenever anyone male went past, they barged into one of us without apologising. It was almost as if we were taking up precious space that might otherwise be occupied with a hot man...lol. Don't think I'll be rushing back here!Coming here was a bit more traumatic than I had ever expected. amazing sound system, great dj's and great facilities!
The sound system is often talked about - they've really invested in their systems and it shows!
DJ's are often the top in their fields and they all enjoy playing. Enhanced by the size, it allows different rooms to have different genres of music - and crowds - allowing you to skip between music types!
Facilities - something a lot of clubs miss- the toilets are good modern, the bar is actually a proper bar! no can's here, you can get a wide variety of drinks for ok prices.
Smoking is a charm, with a timed system stating that around 100 people can go out to smoke, but timed at 13minutes - meaning you have time for 2smokes but its comfortable and ok to wait to go out for one.
All in all my favourite club in london (for when i want an amazing night of music)this is all a club should be...

Intimate and surprisingly unpretentious, considering its location, Plastic People is one of my new true-blue favourites. Excuse the rhyming... but this place just about tops the list when it comes to favourite nightspots.

Quality music abound, Plastic People is well known among dance music lovers as a snug and mellow little boozer which specializes in dubstep, broken beat and house.

Open only on the week-ends, it's a relaxed little place and is much more welcoming than the majority of snotty Shoreditch bars which seem to cater to the plague of emo/indie/Hoxton "cool kids" which are inevitably a dime a dozen as soon as you walk up the Old St tube ramp. Have no fear though, there is no need to dodge stupid hair styles and bad vintage clothes once you cross Plastic People's doorstep - this is a poser-free venue :)

Be warned, though; it's a very dark and extremely tight little venue, so if you are claustrophobic, this is not the place for you. I was here last night for a record release party and I was flooded by long-forgotten memories of innumerable backpack hip hop jams I went to in my teens. Plastic People is friendly and warm with door and bar staff to match, but the service can be really slow due to the crush of people who flock to this little club on a regular basis.

Prices are average for the city, cashing in at about 3.20 for a beer and 4 for spirit/mixer.

It's where I had my worst experience in a London club, ever. Me and my friend's jackets were stolen, and when we complained to the security they kicked us out, in a really aggressive way.
