Cool music, lively atmosphere, the prices are upmarket but it's worth it since you get a good night out of it. i had my best friend's 21st birthday party there and now it has become a tradition for our group to have theirs there too!
Janet's cocktails have a personal touch and we were really pleased to get some complimentary bites and live music! A friend of mine lives round the corner from here, so when I visit I insist on a cheeky visit to the bongo sleekness of Eclipse.

Cocktails are pretty good, but its the atmosphere and friendly bar staff that does it for me!

This is a nice intimate venue that does make things 'cosy' when things get crowded. Definately worth a stay for the w/e crowd who are always fun, vibrant and sexy rather than over loud, overheard and over.

During the week things are more relaxed. And whether you find yourself in Eclipse on a w/e or weekday night the staff are attentive and keep the vibe friendly and funky.

The Queens Arms is a stones throw from Imperial College and despite the booze being 50% more than at the student union it is always nearly packed. I usually frequent this charming little boozer on a weekly basis on Fridays when we are all unwinding from a weeks' work. Our usual tipple is a bottle of Processco which is only Â£15 - compared to Â£20 at the Prince Regent down the road). On Fridays it is impossible to get a seat and hear yourself think, as it is absolutely rammed with the after work crowd. However, visit this pub in the week days at about noon and it is lovely and relaxing. I guess it would be too on the weekend when its a good time to try out their various board games. recently they installed a new menu and its great. It's pub food but at a decent price and good quality grub at that. Fish and Chips come in at about Â£7 and risotto which is absolutely divine comes in at the same price. They also do burgers, sandwiches, soup and pasta and from what I can tell they look good too. The Admiral Edward Codrington was the captain of HMS Orion at the Battle of Trafalgar which as most of you would know was an important battle for the English.

Carrying such a name would make you wonder if this gastro pub would store some kind of war or naval memorial but no. What they do have though is fish... very nice fish, actually Cod from the picture above. It's your traditional fish and ships but the Cod was very fresh, meaty, and the batter golden and crisp.

What this pub is known for its retractable glass roof which must be quite an experience when you come here during the summer.

This was the perfect spot for me and some freinds to get together after some hectic Christmas shopping, we were really well looked after by the staff who reccommended drinks for us. I couldn't make up my mind as there were jsut so many lovley cocktails to try, many of which they seemed to have created themselves. The London cocktails were fun, though I wasn't brave enpugh to try the £350 one!

The atmosphere is just right, dark walls and huge pieces of comtemporary art but nicely lit. OK. Right, so as well as highlighting some of the better bars in London I should point out the slightly crap ones as well.

This is a slightly wanky bar with slightly wanky people. It's like going to a premiere aftershow party where everyone looks around trying to see if they can spot the richest, single person to go and speak to (eg. Stelios, Prince Harrys real dad etc).

The cocktails are average but v.v.expensive (mind you, we are on Walton Street so what do you expect), be suprised if you have much change from £10 for a cocktail. Bar staff are off and slightly lacklustre. All the same, when you're drunk it seems like a fantastic place.

Have to admit that I didn't stay in this pub very long as I was with a group of friends desperately looking for a pub to watch the France-Portugal Football World Cup game. Unfortunately the Duke of Clarence was full and I can understand why it has both a light, airy and comfortably looking atmosphere to it. I did return a few days after that day, when France won, and my initial view of this place was confirmed. What I like about the Drayton Arms is first its high ceilings and the clear comfortable and cosy Victorian pub feel it has to it. The pub attracts your locals from South Kensington and is a great place to simply chill out and enjoy the sun in their outdoor section.
