This is one of my favourite places to go, not necessarily because of the high quality of fish and chips (though they are very good), but because of the couple who run the place. I used to live around the corner and they've been there for years. They really like to interact with their customers and are part of the community feel of the place-- some of the friendlist people I've met in London.

It's a cut above the fish and chips at a kebab shop and they very clearly enjoy what they do, which makes getting my fish and chips there a delight!This is one of my favourite places to go, not necessarily because of the high quality of fish and chips (though they are very good), but because of the couple who run the place. Great cheap bagels! It's pretty much the same as the one next door, though I know people who have developed a preference for one or the other. The classic salt beef bagel with mustard is always a favourite and absolutely hits the spot after a long night out on Brick Lane as it's open 24 hours a day. I'm also partial to the salami and cream cheese bagel.

Staff are properly surly and pure East End, which is great. It's great just to stop by and grab something to eat while wandering around Brick Lane for the afternoon. This is one of the better pizza takeaways ,
(esp good after a night out),
we actually like this better than pizza hut.
Not cheap though but realy tasty.....
Always on time and always hot and tasty.

An OK spot to grab a quick lunch, but you can spend a fortune here and have very little to show for it. Sushi boxes run up to about Â£7 and rarely contain more than a couple of measly bits of sashimi. And the hot foods are ludicrously overpriced - I think it's Â£2 EACH for tiny chicken satays.

They also have a great big display of individually-plastic wrapped sushi, so if you'd rather spend your lunchtime laboriously unwrapping sushi instead of actually eating it, then you can do that too. In fact maybe it would work as some sort of strange diet where you use up more calories getting to your food than you can put on by eating it. Franco's is always busy at lunch time and it is a good sign.
Most people take away so sitting in is actually easier.

I have lived in London for most of my life but i have never come cross someone as rude and bad mannered as one of the female workers at Gardiners.
As this area has limited places to go for lunch. A Deli like this should do well, it seems insane to be let down by such an individual who works there!?
Today was the last straw. After being shouted at, then my Sandwich being thrown at me, i will be contacting the Manager. I suggest if you have been treated the same you should do like wise.
