A great choice of some interesting Polish/ Eastern European influenced options on the menu left me in a dilemma over what to choose. I opted for Pirogi to start which was delicious, plus a goloncafwchich was antastic. Food was very well presented and tasty, service was very good and we got away with a bill of Â£65 for two course Diner for two which included two bottles of great Rioja. They also have a great value set lunch menu so you could dine there very reasonably. Nice decor in restaurant. I would recommend it to all my friends!!!!

This placed is named after the son of the family.

It does great breakfasts including 'the full English' and all its many variants.

In the evening the delicious north African flavours fill the restaurant. Delicious tagines and Tunisian delicacies.

It is BYO too. Great off-licence across the road.

I had my birtday party at Del'aziz, it was the first time I been there, and I enjoyed it very much. This thai restaurant has recently been refurbished!! It now looks wonderful and has a lovely ambience!

Probably the worst takeaway curry I have ever eaten in my life.

We usually use the Kathmandu Inn on Seven Stars Corner. It serves top quality Nepalese curry; with the right balance of spices; star anise, cardamom, Coriander, etc... And the sauces are rich and tasty. Delicious. However, they are a bit on the pricey side, and the delivery driver is like a little old lady, complaining to us about parking etc., and taking ages to get here. So we thought we'd try the Nepalese in Shepherds Bush as a change.

It was certainly more reasonable; and the staff are really very friendly and polite. However, what good is that if the food is so poor?

We ordered three curries; A Lamb Rogan Josh; a Lamb Dopiaza; and a Chicken Patia. Rogan Josh is supposed to be cooked with capsicum, fresh tomatoes, spices and coriander. What we got was simply stewed mutton in a disgusting sickly sweet cream. The Patia was so sweet; it tasted like chicken breast in cherryade. And the Dopiaza was simply the same as the Rogan, creamy sweet gloop with some onions added. Hungry as we were, we found it to be completely inedible, and chucked the whole lot straight in the bin.

We also ordered Samosas and Onion Bhajis to start. Both were poor. And the Samosas were £2.50 for two tiny little triangles, which we thought was taking the mick a bit.

Everyone seems to think their local curry house is the best; however, being a cook myself, this really was the pits. We're going back to Kathmandu Inn. OK, so hereâ¬"s the situation. Iâ¬"m a businessman who travels the UK and rest of Europe. Iâ¬"m staying at the Hilton Hotel in Kensington and Iâ¬"m looking for a nearby restaurant to serve up something different to the standard hotel fare. Across the road is the Royal Tandoori Restaurant, Kensington. I do a few web-searches for reviews and find nothing so I take a chance. As I approach the restaurant I take a quick peek inside. Hereâ¬"s someone already in there, looking good so far. I go in and am offered a table in the narrow corridor of the establishment. I sit down and read through the short but familiar menu. No one approached to offer me a drink. I put the menu down and I get some attention. Butterfly King Prawn to start (£5), Chicken Tikka Bhuna (£7.75) and Garlic Naan (£2.75) plus a pint of Cobra (£4.50) was ordered. The beer came un-poured. Later came he starter and my heart really began to sink. The Butterfly King Prawn came, something nearer to a road-kill than a tasty starter. The size of my hand and encrusted with deep-fried breadcrumbs it was a recently-defrosted, imported reconstituted excuse for food. Cracking it open I discovered little in the way of prawn, king or otherwise, just a fatty and disgusting coating with a small rubbery inner growth. I shifted it all to the side of the plate and waited for the obvious question â¬Show was your starter sir?â¬ but the question didnâ¬"t come as he plate was taken away. Then around 10 minutes later the main course arrived. Covered with a thick dark skin, the curry looked like it was about to tasteâ¬¦. dreadful. Again, something cooked in a different place and time it was gloopy, stale and over-salted. Iâ¬"m pleased to say the Naan was OK if not brilliant. I had been twice to Wahaca in Westfield when I used to live near the area. Although I now live quite far I didnâ¬"t mind visiting it again and as soon as I got there, I remembered what the reasons were that drove me back to this place.
Service: Very friendly and smiling people that are always very helpful. They are always in front of you without being annoying asking you every five minutes if everything is ok.
The food: I donâ¬"t like spicy food. But still I can't hold myself from tasting all these delicious dishes they have. Every time I go there I just want to try more and more of their tastes. Don't limit yourself in the main courses. Try as many starters as possible and in general, be ready to eat A LOT.
Nice and relaxed atmosphere appropriate for families, couples and friends.
Prices: Reasonable prices for big quantities of food.

Can't say that we were very impressed with the food. Maybe it was an off night. The potato pancake was bland and unseasoned and the veal escalope pretty tasteless too. I need to thank ceedoubleu at Trusted Places for this recommendation.

Abu Zaad is billed a Syrian restaurant based in bustling Shepherds Bush. Just as ceedoubleu suggested this restaurant is a perfect alternative to the â¬Übeen-there, doneâ¬that, not-so-sure-nowâ¬" offerings found at the Westfield shopping centre. The thing that immediately struck me about this place on first entering was the welcoming sight of Arabic speaking diners tucking in. The interiors look a tad tired and the slightest hint of any resemblance to Old Damascus was duly acknowledged by yours truly. Like all Middle Eastern establishments in London, Abu Zaadâ¬"s ambience reminds me of a cafÃ© but without the hookah pipes being smoked indoors. The service was relatively efficient, helpful and â¬Üokâ¬" friendly.

On perusing the menu, I thought aloud to myself that this couldnâ¬"t be Syrian cuisine (but then again what is?) especially if Moroccan tagine dishes were being healthily touted here and there. We started with some excellent Kibbeh Shamieh (Deep fried lamb meatballs mixed with cracked wheat and mashed onions) and a generous portion of delicious Falafel. The shared mains of Farrouj Abou Zaad (Grilled boneless baby chicken) and Afghani Rice with Lamb were equally pleasing. The poussin was beautifully tender and superbly seasoned. The boiled lamb (not too unlike the Italian Bollito Misto), although melting was bland and needed some of the wonderful yoghurt and chilli sauce to give it some kick. Let it be known that the portions here are the absolute antithesis to Scroogeâ¬"s. Desserts were unfortunately left out this evening due to us being too stuffed.

I need to come back here to try out some of the other grilled meat dishes to see how it fares against my absolute reference of Mangal Ocakbasi Restaurant. On the account of dinner alone tonight, Abu Zaad is top notch and by George, itâ¬"s extremely cheap. Highly recommended.

I had been thinking about Persian food all week and when I learned of this budget restaurant Sufi (with great reviews) not too far from us, I took Blai there for dinner one night.

We ordered the platter for two. The waitress immediately warned us that this Sufiâ¬"s special would take at least 15 minutes and would we like any appetisers? We decided not to have any, worried about the size of this just might overwhelm us.

As they seemed very worried that we had not ordered any appetisers for the wait, they soon brought over some yogurt with sweet garlic with freshly baked flat nan bread, complimentary for the wait. The warm flat bread, topped with sesame seeds, had been just baked in the oven by the window and the yogurt was a wonderful cold, creamy contrast. Delicious and a good sign of things to come.

The Sufiâ¬"s special for 2 consisted of one skewer of marinated chicken (joojeh kebab), one skewer of baby lamb fillet (kebab barg) and two skewers of minced lamb kebabs (kebab koobideh) served with grilled tomatoes and two plates of basmati rice, one for each of us.

All the meats were so tender and wonderfully flavourful. The minced lamb kebabs had a slightly different spicing to what I was used to but this didnâ¬"t make them any less delicious. The chicken was breast meat, my least favourite cut of the bird, but was so juicy and well marinaded that I snarfed it up. The lamb fillet, well, it was gorgeous - what else can I say? The rice was fluffy and well separated as most Persian rice is but while the tomatoes are normally my favourite part, these could have been a little riper. Still it was a great platter of meat and the waiter exclaimed great surprise that we were able to put away the whole thing between the two of us.

Despite the size of that platter, we still found room to share a small dessert. This is their homemade coconut pudding made with milk, coconut, rosewater and pistachios. It was creamy and flecked with many flakes of dried coconut. Who knew that coconut and rosewater went well together?

All this plus a large bottle of still water came to Â£30. Pretty good for the feast we had - definitely on my to-return list. The easiest way to get there is to either take the tube to Hammersmith and then take a 266 (it starts at Hammersmith bus station) to Askew Road or take the 207 bus from Shepherdâ¬"s Bush and walk down from the Askew Road stop.

Did I mention the belly dancer? She came and danced a 15 minute set (this was a Friday night) and if you want to watch the performance, make sure you get a table towards the back.

"We will bring each dish as it is ready" is what we were greeted with as we entered kitchen italia having been shopping in Westfield shopping centre. What this meant was that one of our friends didnt start eating until ten minutes after the first of us to get our meals had started eating. The food was good but not really worth the wait given the small portions which is not what you are looking for when ordering pasta. The novelty of getting your macaroni cheese in a little bronze saucepan is not as great when the pan really is very small. The other problem is that the demand for simple italian food is large in a new shopping centre full of families therefore ideally you want your own table, however the long wooden tables mean that you share with couples, babies and other people which does not make conversation easy. Looking just like your standard kebab house from the outside, Shebab serves a great selection of kebabs, all wrapped up in a fresh Naan bread from the clay oven in the corner.

The place looks clean, the food is excellent, it's open late, the staff are friendly, there is plenty of space at the back to eat in, its a short walk from Shepherds Bush Green, and a very short walk from Shepherds Bush Market tube station.

It really is as simple as that! Highly Recommended.

Yep, a cracking feast of a meal is served here: tiny-priced epic-sized portions (my friend's Lasagne was big enough for two). Vine Leaves has a very lively atmosphere (probably because it was a match night when I went... everyone cleared out shortly before kickoff) but I agree with bluest_ruth, wine definitely not world class. If ever in the area and in need of a quick meal, this is first choice. Be it that the food is loaded with things that are very bad for you, the laksa and char kway teow actually taste somewhat close to authentic even though it only took them 3 minutes to make it. Was a wonderful restaurant, so many happy memories of the place. Feel like I have lost a very good friend. Had not been for 6 months due to birth of our daughter. We were planning to go this week for our first meal out since the birth only to find it shut and being wrecked by builders.
Even worse news it is now being converted to a chicken Cottage, not too late to stop the licence please go to the council website and under planning search for 270 Uxbridge road
and oppose the licence to try and stop the onward march of rubbish Chicken joints down the Uxbridge roadWas a wonderful restaurant, so many happy memories of the place. Slightly hard to find veggie restaurant on Goldhawk Rd, strangely with cow heads adorning the outside.

I've been eating here for 10 years, and the quality is just as good as the first time. The food is imaginitive and perfectly cooked, bringing some real interest to veggie food which even the confirmed carnivores I have dragged there have loved.
The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and the downstairs room is perfect for a group of friends to eat and laugh together. And the crayons on the table keep even the most bored husband occupied.

BYO alcohol helps keep the price down, and if you run out there is an off license just over the road.

The portions at first look appear small, but you will find them all very suprisingly filling - I blame the large plates!

This is a very nice address if you are around, looking for a good place to eat in. Although they also do take-away and home delivery, I would recommend to have your food in the restaurant: the staff is very kind and nice, a great attention is paid to the service and to the decoration, and the food is excellent. Tasty, well presented, with a great variety of dishes for all the tastes. Overall a very good destination for a Thai restaurant with a price range that is totally in the market place.This is a very nice address if you are around, looking for a good place to eat in. We were long overdue a nice meal out together - babies and work had got in the way. So I looked on TP for local places to eat, and read the reviews that suggested it was quality food, nice atmosphere, not OTT.
I can't claim to be a real foodie - but even by my modest standards, the food was a bit lacklustre. Maybe it was the regular chef's night off - it was a weeknight (can't remember which).
The Americans at the next table who were there for a farewell dinner, were complaining a bit about it, too, according to my eavesdropping wife....
