Tapas looked like they came from tins... (squid in its own ink, callos, fabada) It's a shame that places like this exist in London! The good thing we ordered spanish ham and chorizo, everything else was very poor. so, we left and walk down to King's Road to La Rueda- a proper spanish tapas.

American Cafe Kebab in Fulham Broadway gave me perhaps the most negative kebab "experience" I have had overall in recent years.
The meat looked very brown so I opted for a slightly fresher looking Lamb Shashlick over the Lamb Shish - the only difference being peppers and onions on the skewer. During the cooking process another member of staff placed some frozen Lamb Kofte in the front display that explained the brown colour of the meat.
When the kebab arrived I asked for lots of Chilli sauce and the server picked up a red bottle (Uh-oh!) and the sauce was thin, sweet and syrupy but fairly hot. Not to my tastes but it did not ruin the kebab as it was not good enough to begin with. The meat was very tough to chew and had little flavour but at least was lean.
The salad was also poor - again hard to chew cabbage and onion. The large pickled chilli peppers were also of a low quality. Cucumber & Pita were OK but could not redeem the kebab in any way.
The chips were quite good though.
Service was acceptable being prompt if not particularly friendly but when they ran out of chopped tomatoes my server made no effort to reach for the whole ones to cut up.

I went to this restaurant for ONE reason - they serve BEEF ribs as well as the usual pork.

I used to frequent a London mini-chain called 'Texas Lone Star' and it was the beef ribs that kept me a loyal customer for over a decade, until they all closed down some years ago.

Bodean's Fulham branch really impressed me with the service on my first visit. A friendly welcome, relaxed attitude throughout the evening AND prompt alert, staff made a great first impression.

The Beef BBQ Ribs themselves were very good (Â£10.50 for a half rack with fries & coleslaw) and came off the bone easily but were not quite as good flavour wise as my old favourites. They are still closer than the beef ones in Chicago Rib Shack which are under flavoured to my tastes.
The fries (chips to us Brits!) & 'slaw were both very well done.
I will definitely eat at Bodean's again.

At this friendly neighbourhood resto the staff greet many of their customers by name, and serve up some really tasty food. I've been here countless times now, and my particular favourites include the ChÃ¥ CÃ¡ LÃ£ Vong - a lovely sizzling white fish dish, and the tiger prawns in coconut milk... Yum!!!

Very good value, and right by Fulham Broadway, so a great option if you're planning to catch a movie over at the Vue cinemas.

My boyfriend and I went to megans for breakfast. The cafe is really nice and has a nice little garden, we were glad we found it. Bhe service was very disapointing. Firstly we ordered drinks that never came, 45 mins later only one breakfast arrived and still no drinks! My boyfriend mentioned this to the staff who just didn't seem to care -- no apology. They were rude and surly. The food, when it came, was OK, but lukewarm. If the service was good and the food was hot it would be a great great cafe, but i just felt it was really frustrating. Another thing that annoyed me was that on the menu it says a 12.5% Discrectionary service charge will be added. When we went to pay we were not asked if we wanted to pay it, as we didnt, and they even had a jar saying 'lovely tips please', which we thought was just greedy. FANTASTIC place, offering such great food at such reasonable prices. Been recommended by a few different people now so the word is obviously out! A small local independent offering proper food and such good value, with superb cocktails, makes this a real find. I visited this restaurant with 44 colleagues on saturday the 28th of march 09.

We were all apalled by the very very poor quality of the food, the service was also incredibly poor.The waiting staff were rude abrupt, and very unhelpful.
The vegetarain options were so bad it looked like they use tinned mushrooms in the risotto,
The chicken dishes were chewy and the food cold.the service was appaling.I sopke to the manager, who was very unhelpful, and was unwilling to listen to my feedback or do anything to rectify the poor experience we had, he then slammed the phone down on me, great customer service.Avoid this restaurant at all costs and dont give them any of your money.I visited this restaurant with 44 colleagues on saturday the 28th of march 09.

For his birthday, son wanted to eat Indian, but a local everyday place would not be exciting enough, which set us a challenge. We wanted somewhere special. On line we found the famous Chutney Mary's and booked it. The food, decor and prices all exceeded my expectations.

Wonderful food full of flavours such as rose. Spinach which tasted fresh, not like it was cooked five times. Splendid refreshing fruit sorbets.

Menu constantly changing. Not what I'd planned after reading on line. (Which was duck and apricots, followed by a date and walnut kulfi.)

Cocktails and Drinks
Interesting cocktails. My drink, cardamon cooler, vodka, strawberries and cardamon, was entrancingly pink. With a sophisticated black bent straw.

It was only 100 ml. In a champagne glass. That didn't last long. And it was half filled with ice. So I added water to get the benefit of the drink's dregs and make it last the whole meal. Servers kept trying to sneak it away but I stayed alert and kept demanding it back.

Vodka and strawberry with three thin slices of fresh strawberry.

It's years since I've had a cocktail with fresh strawberry in the drink as opposed to sitting on the rim so you are afraid to touch it in case you look too desperate and greedy.

It's easy for a restaurant to afford a slice of strawberry when strawberries are plentiful in UK summer, or as now, in spring, almost in season - somewhere in the world giving a greenhouse forced hard, tasteless strawberry.

In Singapore you get fresh fruit cocktails all year, whether at a cheap roadside stall or a grand hotel.

I remember having strawberries in a strawberry daiquiri at a Quality Inn South of Washington DC in the 1980s. I passed it on the motorway coming in from Virginia years later and yearned to stop. Here at Chutney Mary's the joy of the cocktail was not strawberry but the totally new experience of the crunchy cardamon.

I think I'll remember the Chutney Mary cocktail years later as well.

The food is everything you could want. Delightful to read the menu, dishes wonderful to look at, tastes divine, different from every other meal youâ¬"ve had, inventive, colourful, memorable, fresh and healthy. The duck was great and the accompanying sweet potato. Lamb with mash was more-ish.

Desserts
I had the 'degustation' combination dessert, of three items, mango panacotta, choclate fondant and rose sorbet. Prettily presented. The chocolate was full of flavour with a hot melting centre. What looked like creme brulee was not as good but melting. The sorbet was wonderful. I loved the rhubarb sorbet, and the mango.

The Baked Alaska was a small tall castle. Not large. Granny ate the lot, so I never got to try it. She refuses to eat Indian and doesn't like curry or spices but she was quite happy. She liked the sliced duck and baked alaska though she'd have preferred a sweet wine.

I filled in their form and gave them ten out of ten for food.

Service
Service nearly there. Only nine out of ten for service. Knowledgeable. Polite unobtrusive warmth from the men. Quiet women servers. Not the jollity of Italian waiters at an Italian restaurant.

But probably suitable for those on expensive accounts who don't want distractions. Also ideal for jealous wives and girlfriends who don't want their menfolk chatting up anybody else.

My complaints were: They put a candle on my sonâ¬"s dessert but brought it up when I was away from the table. They should have waited until I came back because I didn't see it nor get a photo of him looking astonished and happy at his birthday candle.

The server took a photo and stepped back to get us all in. A really smart photography-wise person will take two photos in case somebody shuts their eyes. Besides people tend to look awkwardly anxious with fixed grins in the first photo but relaxed and happy in the second.

Romantic
Candles provide romantic dim light. No distractions from others. You don't hear a word from other tables. Total privacy.

The circular conservatory where we sat was lovely at night. Gleaming wood. Thirty pot plants around the edge. A tree in the middle sheltering you overhead so you are not overlooked by the block of flats at the back.

Candles provide a romantic atmosphere. Admittedly we nearly burned our hands, our sleeves and our menus three times as we passed the birthday cards and menus across. But the candle design with oil inside a cube looks as though it's meant to be safe and can't spill.

Prices
High. We were paying about £150 for four for a birthday. I could have had a mango lassi for under £4 or one of several wines by the glass, none sweet, but opted for an unusual cocktail.

The restaurant offers set menus about £20 or £22 but little choice. About three options in each section and if you are allergic to shellfish and don't want vegetarian you have only one choice. However, if you want to go for the atmosphere, or eat there regularly, that's a good option.

I could not see the price of coffee. The coffees were listed in a line. I might have opted for a cheaper coffee, or known they were all the same price. I was distracted from my conversation by puzzling over this.

It's a legal requirement to tell customers prices and not make it up at the end and shock them into ordering something they can't afford or consider poor value.

What they should tell you:
Steep stairs, a challenge to those of us in high heels, and no lift. Granny, aged 92, made it down. And up. If she had gone downstairs and then wanted the cloakroom immediately I would have been concerned.

Toilets are at the top of the stairs to the right of the entrance. It may be built on a slope. The main restaurant is basement from the front stairs. But the projecting conservatory seems to be ground floor. Maybe it's basement with a view of the sky.

Toilets were spotlessly clean. One of the few places where you felt that the rolls of toilet paper outside the protective wrapper were not gathering dust on the surface.

Clever divided doors. Such a good idea. Solves a problem which was bothered me for years. Enables you to get into a cubicle without one large door blocking the area diagonally when you open it.

A second dispenser, of moisturizer, would have been welcome. And a flower display. However, the effect was very elegant and clean.

Will I go back? Can't wait. Dad was already saying he wants to go there on his birthday.

For a change of venue they have about four sister restaurants all in central London, Covent Garden and so on. We went to Veeraswamy's years ago and thought the decor was unusual but it was overpriced with indifferent food. However, if it's under new ownership and could be up to the standard of Chutney Mary's, definitely worth a trip and a try.

This branch is near Kensington. We took a wrong turn and arrived late. But the restaurant is large and we had no trouble getting a table on a Monday evening.

Granny was impressed. When she'd been a teenager her mother had always taken her for tea to classy places, so she knew how to behave with the best people, she told us twenty times.

Parking
If you book about 8 pm you arrive after the congestion charge has ended. The sofa inside the entrance enables passengers to wait in comfort while you fetch the car. I think there's a yellow line outside, maybe because you are approaching a bridge. I went to Nikitas with a friend. We were both impressed how stunning the place looks with lots of candles and pretty bits and pieces - very cosy and welcoming. We first sampled a few yummi Vodkas at the bar and then went downstairs for our meal. I must admit I was a bit apprehensive about the food (I had some below average food in a well-known London Russian Restaurant some years ago) but needn't have worried. Although the choices for me as a vegetarian were rather limited, the Blini starter and Mushroom Stroganoff main were utterly delicious. We were served by friendly and attentive staff and really had a great night out. I can't reccommend Nikitas highly enough!I went to Nikitas with a friend. Locale is just down the road from my house and serves its purpose at a premium price. The service is nothing special, not great, not awful. The service is nothing special, not great, not awful. The food is ok, go for the pizzas everything else is bland and looks boring.

These are some of the nicest cocktails to be had for miles! There is an excellent range of cocktails and the barman was keen to experiment as well, making up anything you request and some you dont! They are happy to give you a try of anything you are not too sure about. Despite the fact that they really are very tasty, the cocktails are not cheap. Two of us managed to spend Â£40 within 45 no problem at all, but it is always a nice place to pop into after a good meal. The decor here is fantastic and really adds to the whole experience of the meal. The food is very good but there are possibly slightly better (and less well known)Thai places around the Fulham area. As many people have mentioned it is a very nice place to go on a special occasion, the food does not quite match up with the price. The atmosphere was good (on a saturday) and not at all pretentious. Booking early is important on certain nights, although this was a while ago, not sure if it is still as popular. Service was not very quick but it was a busy evening.

I ummed and erred about whether this was a 3 or 4 star experience.

Certainly Napule is a charming Italian Pizza place. It is small and cosy with fun decor that makes you feel like you are on the back streets of Italy - complete with fake window ledges scattered along the walls.

They have a novel way of serving pizzas if you order more than one per table. Instead of getting a single round pizza your orders are merged together in an uber-pizza in a rectangle shape. Suddlenly 2 or 3 pizzas look huge as they come on a giant wooden platter that sits in the middle of the table. And 4 pizzas well it starts to look like a monster!

No question that this is a tasty and fun place with a relaxing and non chain atmosphere (a little deceiving as their card tells me they have 6 places in London as part of the Made in Italy Group).

I would have given it 4 if the staff were just a little friendlier...however, I suppose it is being an authentic Italian ;-)

A pleasant little Italian place that has tasty food. Good value and family atmosphere on the New Kings road makes L'Antico a popular place.

I confess to still being a Pizza Express fan. I know, I know - I'm also sympathetic to the rumours that the pizzas are smaller and I know that they arn't as good as the pizzas you have eaten in Italy. However, in my book a pizza express pizza is pretty darn tasty and I admit to eating them every now and then.

I have been going to this one since it opened (cripes when was that - must be decades ago) and as Pizza Expresses go this is a nice and spacious layout (the one in Victoria is cramped and the one in Fulham Broadway's shopping centre feels totally soulless). This is a great restaurant for dim sum at lunch. There's normally a wait for tables at the weekends so it's good to get there before one. The dim sum is very authentic. Had a great steak. Every Monday it's half price food. The restaurant had a great atmosphere. It's a little off the thoroughfare which is good.
