Recently expanded into two shop lots, Japan Centre now offers not just a bigger variety of takeaway sushi than ever before, but also a great range of bento boxes, tempura, noodles, Japanese cakes and desserts and even a shelf of typical soft baked Japanese buns and breads!

I ADORE this place, adore the fact that they sell tasty brown rice sushi (which newly opened rival Yoshino* on Shaftesbury Avenue doesn't do) and adore their prices. Cannot believe that it only costs between £2-£3 per pack of 6 large pieces! Personally I also think Japan Centre's sushi is superior in terms of taste and quality; Yoshino's sushi just looks and tastes more watered down, and doesn't quite hit the spot in the same way.

As if this isn't a bargain enough in itself, they also slash prices shortly before closing time so you could get huge amounts of sushi for practically nothing. Will definitely be back over and over again!

I have a slight sushi obsession and this place was walking distance from work so I'd say I've spent the majority of my take-away lunches munching away on their sushi.

Unfortunately, Yoshino has been kicked out of the Japan Centre basement but they are promising to re-open it somewhere 'close' in October. In the meantime, the delicatessen is operating out of their restaurant just down the road from the Japan Centre so I guess not all is lost....I have a slight sushi obsession and this place was walking distance from work so I'd say I've spent the majority of my take-away lunches munching away on their sushi.

This restaurant is just how you would expect a fast food joint to be. There are many mcdonalds and fast food joints in general that have forgotten that they are suppost to be fast and there for you could have sat down for a three course meal before you get your burger but this one is efficient. The staff are polite and clean - they listen to what you are saying and there fore get the order right!
Everything we want is always in stock and most importantly those funky glasses are always in stock so i don't try to order a meal just for the glass and then have to change my mind if the glass isn't in stock!This restaurant is just how you would expect a fast food joint to be. Pret a manger is the best place for a quick bite if you are looking for fresh and natural ingredients this the place for you. its a great place to go for lunch on the go. All their food is fresh and yummy. I only really go to eat at Burger King when i have some of thir discount vouchers as i'm not to keen on their food. However, There's no doubt in my mind that Burger Kings chips are nicer than McDonalds probably because there is less salt. I have no prolblems with queues at burger kind because when ever I usually go there there isn't many and sometimes if there is they are only short. The restaurant tables are often dirty but the food is also reasonably priced. Shelleys used to be the best sandwich bar in Soho. Good quality food, fantastic range, not too pricey...all round good value. But then about 3-4 years ago it changed hands. On the face of it, it has the same range of food, same pricing and same long queue going out the door at lunchtime. But in my opinion, the food is greasier, not as well cooked. Service is poor and I'm not too keen on the hygiene (but that's probably because I like to see my sandwich prepared with gloved-hands).

Honestly, I just don't go there any more unless I'm really stuck for something and can't bear to face the queue for Make Mine. I first discovered Maoz on a trip to Amsterdam and was pleased to find the chain has made its way to London.

Maoz is a cool concept - fast food with a difference.

Their main sell are falfel's and for about Â£4 you can stuff yourself on a meal deal which includes pita bread, falafels and access to the salad bar (you can go back as many times as you like so long as you still have some bread) with chips and a drink. And its great for vegetarians too.

There is limited seating so it may be hard to abuse the salad bar but if you get the chance do so because the salads are great.

I am yet to try the hummos (additional extra) but am looking forward to it on my next trip.

Try it if you're after something a bit different..
