I really recommend this place for a fun night out at a cool, classy club.

Location is great - central London. There was enough people around outside to know it would be busy but it wasnâ¬"t too overcrowded and the queue to get in was quite reasonable.

I went on a Friday night and really liked the music â¬ great mix of R&B, house and hip hop.

There are tables where you can sit down and drink yet also a massive dance floor. It was a great idea to have a huge fan on the dance floor as it really cooled us down after a few hours dancing!

The people here seemed really down to earth and friendly.

Probably the best club i have ever been too . There is a great atmosphere everywhere around the pub and everyone seems to be having a good time. I went and saw Paul Merton in the comedy players show there a couple of years back and it was fantastic. A really good laugh and its great when you get some friends to tag along as well. Will definitely be going back this year maybe for the itv2 comedy cuts show or the best in stand up show. Make sure you make time to go to this club ! I went here a while ago for a birthday, and I did have a pretty good time. However! I think it was down to the company of my friends and the free bottles (plural!) of champagne the desperate guys were handing us! The music isnâ¬"t too bad, although I think it tries too hard. There are different rooms to suit your taste. The room I ended up in had a selection of beds in it?! I think this probably says a lot more about his place than the entire review! Trash Palace is one of the newer gay 'alternative' venues within London, serving as the rendezvous point for a whole range of 'alternativeish' indie 20 somethings who would have perhaps otherwise gone to the park to drink over-priced stella. While usually busy on a weekend night, at other times the atmosphere can resemble that of an MFI warehouse. great music, great atmosphere but sooooooooo expensive,2 drinks at the bar cost me over Â£15.00 (aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh)This shocked even me a londoner who is used to rip of prices,
The music and people in here make this a great night out but if i was going again id go and have a drink somewhere else first .
The majority of people in here have plenty of money (drinking champers and done up to the nines)and it can be quite hard to get in ,but one good thing about that is the fact that there dosent seem to any trouble

2 floors with plenty of room for dancing both on the ground and basement floors

There is also seating areas aound the outside.

The lighting for dancing is superb and music is a mix - house, garage, RnB with occasional dance cheese mixes.

It draws in a young crowd but not the pisshead or druggies lots of places do - young profesisonals I would say

Drinks are OK - reasonable and comparable with other clubs Â£7.80 for double smirnoff and coke

Ooo the hype surrounding this place, so far celebrity packs have included Kate Moss, and her 'wherever she goes' so does Sienna Miller companion, plus the Z-listed BB 'stars' strutting their stuff.

So high expectations, i was forseeing smooth tunes, great facilities, more than great drinks and a laid back atmosphere without any of the usual sleazey groopiness that can occur in a supposedly 'top' london venue.

I was disappointed. Where were the fabulous toilets for a start?! instead what greets you is a narrow corridor of less than luxurious faux metallic doors, whose confined space radiates a claustrophobic and intesively competitive space for the mirror. *yawn*. I wouldn't mind, but i had taken the trouble to get myself into the VIP area and the facilties here were not much better either - but nice to know that Ms Moss has to suffer with us mere mortals too!

The staff are super friendly, although getting them to mix a decent drink (the standard mojito test at play here) was a task that really required i get behind the bar and show them how its done. which is ridculous when you consider how much even a run of the mill V&T is ... So as Reenie surmises in her review, 'bring cash; lots of it!' she isn't wrong!

The club is split into 2 main parts, the bar area and affiliated toilets, with club area and another bar next door. The dance floor merges with a low tabled lay out that hug the edge of the club with the idea that the ladies will at some point in the evening get bored of being sleazed on climb atop the nearest table and shake their funkAy stuff. After the amount on drinks, this is probably the safest place to stay - cashola in hand, baying boys at your feet.

Sadly though if your male and want to dance, well its going to be a try hard and harder night. bouncers mark out the tables areas with a dedication bordering on obsessive parenting - at 26 i am quite capable of shifting whom i would like to dance with, some poor guy who asked me the time was whisked so fast across the club i barely had time to inform him well that his time was up.

One wonders what state Ms Moss and co. has been in when she comes here, if i were her i'd find somewhere else to dance till dawn, somewhere where the drinks can be mixed to standard and the girls and boys are free to dance all night!

Many of the gigs here are fantastic. It was refurbished not long ago so the place is clean and looks great with a 'pit' in the middle (where a few tables are) and on the sides are rows of tables tiering up so you can get a good view of the band from most vantage points. It is THE place to hang out at if you enjoy sampling jazz. Food and drink in the joint are pretty average but the desserts are very good, especially the strawberry cheesecake.Many of the gigs here are fantastic. Given that most music places in central London seem to be getting a facelift (re Ronnie Scotts), it is kinda nice to have these old-school sort of live music haunts. 'Aint nothing but...' is a smallish, dirty-looking bar (in a nice way!), where you can feel easily at home. ..Into the club or out of the club. Depends on your looks and behaviour I guess.

If you recall, two reviews ago I started with the evening in Loungelover and referenced a flock of hens that were there- now after popular demand I'm continuing the story. So&.not your typical hen party (they did have it at Loungelover after all !;-) - very classy, sophisticated, good looking - anyway too good to turn an invite down (note how I'm carefully constructing the imagery here of me having a quiet drink with a buddy and getting harassed by a bunch of women to follow them into a club - I believe it's called 'poetic license'). Anyways, you guys were not there so it may even have been true.
On to Cuckoo - I'm not a great fan of central London clubs. Don't get me wrong, most of the times I go I have a great time, but they're not really high on my priority list. Usually it's the result of earlier randomness rather than some careful planning. For example, last time I was in this particular venue it was called 'The Stork Rooms', the year was 2001 and Freddy Ljungberg had a pink Mohecan - I remember that cause he was there.
Anways, on with Cuckoo. The music is good, mainstream club music, mixing the popular hip-hop and R&B, flowing on to house and throwing in the occasional, discordant (relatively) Lenny Kravitz. Other than the £20 entrance fee, which is market rate I guess, but still a bit questionable when compared with other options, the drinks are also reasonably priced. The best part was the Greek bar dude, who provided a round on the house. This was the second time on that night that I was surprised to find a fellow countryman behind the bar, but again this is the subject of another review, although I may refrain from that one as some people may take offence.
Typical west end clubbing crowd, a bit more on the upmarket side, with plenty of beautiful women. Overall friendly atmosphere and good attitude from the staff. If you are looking to party late in Central London, then this is one of the better places to do so.
May be a bit tricky to get in on a busy night, so find a friend or someone to get you on the guest list if you can. Or just get in touch with them here:
