Oi Bagel - Great for a morning bagel by hammerhead

As I get into work so early this is the place to come for a treat or if i'm late and need to get breakfast in for the whole team! Any type of bagel (Wholemeal, Seasame, Onion, Cheddar, you name it they've got it!) and a whole raft of fillings from the favourite bacon and brown sauce (which I don't eat) to Tuna Melt and my personal favourite running food, Tuna Bagel which is Tuna Mayo with lemon juice and a cucumber. The Bagel's can be toasted as well while waiting (couple of minutes) and the usual smoothies and coffees are also available. Great value as well, around Â£2-4 and remember to grab a loyalty card as if you grab loads of bagels like me, then you can get some free ones for return custom, likeable manager here and friendly staff who handle the multiple orders. I've eaten breakfast a few times at the Vesuvious on 139 Colt Street. It offers a wholesome English breakfast (I challenge you to finish it) and a good range of Continental food. I noticed heaters outside. In the morning, a wide range of people come in. People going to work. People returning from work. People with blackberries and people in working clothes. People alone. People in groups.

They are a friendly lot. I was particularly taken with their display of wine. 13 racks of 4 = 52 weeks. Canary Wharf is like another world compared to the rest of central London with its modern high-rise office blocks. There are lots of shops, bars and restaurants as well to keep the office workers happy. Sometimes I go there to meet my husband for lunch and we usually dine at Birley Salt Beef.

This is a small café located within one of shopping arcades that join Canary Wharf tube station to the Dockland Light Rail (DLR) station. They serve fabulous 'New York Deli' style sandwiches packed full of your choice of meat. There are a small number of tables were you can eat, or you can get your sambo to go.

You can choose the type of bread you want, then meat - salt beef or lamb or roast beef or sausage, and then condiments, such as mustard or sauce. Add a pickle as well for the real deal. I normally have the Roast Scotch Beef on Wholemeal with mustard - but hold the pickle for me, I am not a fan ; )
