I go here regularly because I love the little bites like egg-rolls, fish rolls etc. But the staff dont speak good English, and depending on the mood your in, it can be a bit of a trial getting proper information about the food they sell. I think they have such a large Shri-Lanken customer base that they havent even tought about selling to the English (the few of us left in London !). I would rate it highly for the food, which is basic but delicious. Feeling bad about leaving a so-so review about Rics I decided to go back (thats dedication for you !). I went for breakfast this time. Well, It seems Ric has decided to compete with the local cheap cafes, a GOOD idea, and the ambience there is certainly better, even the prices are comparible. The problem is the breakfast staff have no idea of what they are doing, the food doesnt have any edge on the competition, bread was cheap sliced white, eggs not free range, we even had to ASK for salt and pepper. The first time the coffee was cold (but very good) and had suger already added ! The second time they didnt have any tomatoes (even though there is a Tescos literally across the road). The staff played a local radio station while sitting around discussing their private lives. The waitress didnt even know that they had herbal teas (we had to show her!). Looks like Ric has lost his marbles altogether! The guy who runs this place is PASSIONATE and it shows in the presentation of the place, the menu and the effort the staff (most of them) put into this place. I think Limoncello is a good alternative to Setto Bello (just up the road) if you want to go a little posher, and the menu is very affordable. A more romantic ambience, a little more formal, but the staff are very friendly and professional. To be honest that for an indian restaurant this place has done incredibly well for iteself. It has won countless awards which they display and out back eating is so much more enjoyable with wine and champange. The food is a bit on the mild side most of the time and portions could be larger but even though this is a great place to eat in but if you insist on better food quality then there is a place down the road called suvai aruvi which is maily a takeaway but still it is all good. Sometimes I invite people around and if we decide indian then this is the place we order from, the takeaways are just amazing, fast and really very cheap. I have ordered from them counless times and always the price and food have been well balanced in my view. I think that eating in then this isnt the best place to be and it would be better to try jaffna house which is down the road but word of warning this place usually runs out of desserts quickly so watch out and once they have been shut down due to the lack of clean.Sometimes I invite people around and if we decide indian then this is the place we order from, the takeaways are just amazing, fast and really very cheap. Easter weekend was spent DIY-ing and my folks were fantastic in helping. We finished up late on Monday evening and I said I'd treat us all to an Indian takeaway. My dad loves Lahore and often stops off on his way back from the gym at lunch to scoff down a cheeky curry. That I night I popped down, it was busy but as usual there were tons of staff hanging around to take orders. I ordered nan bread, chicken madras (I desparately wanted a hot curry having been disppointed with numerous curries that were not hot enough), and prawn karahi. I sat down at one of the tables and waited for the food to be prepared. I did not realise how torturous this was until about 5 minutes into waiting. I should have brought a book - I could only stare at the delicious curries and sundries tempting me under the glass counter and watch people put mouthful after mouthful of deliciousness into their stomachs. 15 minutes later it was ready - i paid Â£12 and rushed back home. Food was great - definitely could taste the fresh ingredients such as ginger and corriander, and the madras was suitable hot. this place is far and away the best value curry in tooting. Don't understand why Mirch Masala constantly gets all the attention - their food, though good, pales in comparison. Mohona (note spelling is actually with two Os), while lacking in all things ambiance (its a bit shaby, no decorations) more than makes up for with its cuisine and friendly service. enjoy.this place is far and away the best value curry in tooting. Onam is my favourite Indian restaurant. I lived in South India for a while and I never had a masala dosa as tasty as those at Onam.
It's slightly off the beaten track as it's about a 10 minute walk from both Tooting Broadway and Colliers Woods tube stations but is definately worth the effort.
Great value - they do a daily special for Â£4.99 and a takeaway lunch-box for Â£2.99.

We find this a welcome change from other Wimbledon restaurants and a pleasant place for some tasty Lebanese food. It's small and unpretentious with friendly staff who remember you. Our favourite food there is a selection of starters and small dishes which we prefer to the main (slightly plain) meat dishes. They often play Lebanese music on CD which helps to blot out the rather bleak urban view from the window.
