This is a lovely, friendly, family orientated pub and whenever we have a group of friends or family together, and want to eat out, this is where we go. They have an offer on, all day, every day, which is buy two meals for the price of one. If you have quite a crowd going this is quite a saving. It's only on the main course though but it still cuts a big chunk off the bill. The food is always delicious and the puddings are also varied and nice. The whole pub has a relaxed atmosphere. You don't feel you have to have a drink because you are in there and we often just go in for a meal and a coffee. The name "Kiss Me Hardy" is a reference to Lord Nelson who lived in the area and there are lots of interesting naval artifacts and pictures dotted around the pub. There is also a children's play area upstairs but I have never used it with my daughter as I don't feel I can leave her up there alone as people can walk straight up there without entering the actual pub as the stairs come off the main entrance, before the bar entrance.

This place is like its neighbour Spirit. Itâ¬"s an independent bar in a converted shop front. It serves continental beers like Hoegaarden and half heartedly serves food like pizzas. Its style is a more chocolately jazz as opposed to its Spiritâ¬"s equally garish false bohemian, hippy nonsense. The only thing going for its appearance is it is a clearly an independent venture, which is an attractive concept in the brand blandness of Tooting. Thereâ¬"s a little more room in here than in Spirit but not much. Knowing that getting a seat will be unlikely thereâ¬"s little point in coming here. In the day this place serves some ok food and coffee and is a spacious, gentle place to be. Many women shoppers inhabit the place, for goodness sake. But at night the demons come here to party. Goblins and trolls turn up, get boozed up and dance till they get rejected by all the slutty girls then try to thump the other twerps nearby. The bouncers are regularly in and out to sort things out and the flashing blue police cars and often give the disco a run for its money has the bobbies speed to A Bar 2 Far to sort out the latest ruck. If you like retarded sexuality, frustration that spills into violence and overpriced drinks then head down there now. Oof. This place is rough. If, for some ungodly reason, you decide to squeeze past the fat, boorish twerps who are eternally smoking in this pubâ¬"s doorways, then youâ¬"re in for a hellish experience. The Railway Bell is large inside but uniformly grotty and neglected. Outside blackboards boast cheap drink deals but the horrid booze inside is still overpriced. The staff are idle and uncaring of outsiders. If youâ¬"re lucky then the regulars will treat you with apathy. If youâ¬"re unlucky expect to be snarled at by stupid wasterals, resentful of any sign of success, intellect, or cleanliness. Donâ¬"t go here. Head down the road to The Ramble Inn.Oof. Jack Beardâ¬"s looks formidable from the outside. Thereâ¬"s always a gang of rough looking birds and blokes dragging on some soggy fag and bumping tattoos as they bellow proud justifications about some fight or fall out theyâ¬"ve had with some other goon. But Jack Beards is actually a really good pub. Very friendly and open. Youâ¬"ll get left alone if thatâ¬"s what you want, but not when the bandâ¬"s play. These Irish crooners give it full speed on their preset organs and drum machines, regularly belting out traditional rousing folk songs. This used to be The Mitre. The Mitre was a mess, a dingy gaff full of goons. It had a few pool tables that were constantly monopolised by charmless halfwits who would steal your fifty pence pieces from the table and deny they ever saw you put them down. Now the pool tables are gone. The goons are gone. The walls are papered with ornate flock paper and the toilets titled with intricate mosaics â¬its almost a shame to wee against it. The beer garden is now filled with benches and high parasols making it a wonderful place to drink in the summer and comfortable to smoke in the winter. The Castle is Tootingâ¬"s local pub. Despite being on the High Street and right in the heart of Tooting, itâ¬"s still frequented by a ton of regulars. But it also has a lot of room for strangers so donâ¬"t be put off. Itâ¬"s a friendly place and good for watching the football. Many of the regulars work as crew members on the ITV police soap opera The Bill. Itâ¬"s clean, bright and tastefully done up like a good old fashioned boozer. Very plush and comfortable, big with plenty of room. This place used to be the ghastly Tramshed. That was a hovel full of scabby teens slurping alcopops who would singe the pool tables with their cigarettes while distracted by the massive projector which played MTV Bass twenty four seven. Thankfully thatâ¬"s all gone now. The venue once was an actually tram shed and is a beautiful building. The new owners have redecorated it and turned it into some much more glamorous and elegant. There are chandeliers! Who would have thought the scabbiest place in Tooting would be transformed into the classiest? Well thatâ¬"s what happened. This used to be a right old dingy gaff, a scruffy back street boozer with vomit on its face and its shoe laces undone. But now theyâ¬"ve done it up all nice and proper. Theyâ¬"ve got billiards and shovehapenny other retro pub games for a false sense of authenticity. They also pimped their menu offering stodgy burgers and chips for Â£10. Honestly, this pubâ¬"s transformation is a failure. I preferred the honesty of its shoddy former self, instead of this overpriced mundane poo. Thereâ¬"s nothing here that justifies the cost, nothing. A thoroughly disappointing waste of time, money and space. Now this is a little find! Right in the heart of Merton Abbey Mills, near Wimbledon.

One visits Merton Abbey Mills if you are looking to buy that 'something different', whether it be a fossil, a stained glass mirror or a beautiful handcrafetd frame.

We (enjoying crafts and arty things) have often strolled through here (our friend also has an estate agency here, so we pop in and visit him too when we come here).

This pub was recommended to us by him, and we enjoyed it very much.

It is alongside the Wandle River, which has recently been cleaned up a lot and is mroe pleasant to walk along. It isnt a wide river though, more of a canal if anything. Kids fish in it and people go for walks along it.

The pub has a lovely atmosphere, and I especially enjoyed the outside area, alongside the river.

Service is good here, we certainly had no complaints!

We had a tiny bite to eat, nibbled more, so I cannot comment on the food her persay, but the beer shandy was cold and tasty, and the experience was very pleasant.

They also dont rush you either, even if you are in a prime position, which was rather nice!
