I stayed in MiNC Serviced Apartments recently with some friends. It was an excellent base for our week long shopping trip. The Apartments are stylish, modern and fully kicked out. It was like having our own kitty pad right in the heart of Londonâ¬"s west end. Just over the road from St Christopherâ¬"s Place, we enjoyed some great evening outs and could just walk home.I stayed in MiNC Serviced Apartments recently with some friends. I was expecting a traditional English top class hotel but was very disappointed.
The lobby has low ceilings with a nasty smell of cheap perfume at the reception. When we arrived to check in, the computers were down and we had to leave the luggage with the concierge. When we came to pick up the bags they didn't find them, and I had to come into the room to look at the mess but the bags were gone. Eventually they found them in another room. The rooms are quite large but not beautifully decorated. The electronic "do not disturb" buttons were wrong so what was red in the room was green in the corridor so the maid went straight in. The coffee at breakfast was so bad that we sent it back twice and then ordered a double espresso.I was expecting a traditional English top class hotel but was very disappointed.

After undergoing an extensive Â£25 million refurbishment to all 246 bedrooms and suites and the fine dining restaurant Artisan - The Westbury leads a new direction of unrivalled luxury.

Guests can expect a warm greeting by our traditionally dressed doorman in top hats and enter the stunning lobby where discreet friendly hotel staff will check guests in swiftly. Suite guests can benefit from express check in or if pre-ordered a butler service, to personally take care of every requirement.

All rooms and suites have been individually designed with soft contemporary furnishings throughout, with soft neutral colours and modern prints. Flat screen TVs and the all the latest fashion and lifestyle magazines are standard in order to make guests feel home from home. The bathrooms are imperiously designed using fine marble stone imported specially from the Lucca and Bergamo quarries in Italy and are all equipped with rain forest showers and luxurious toiletries.

The penthouse - The St. Georges Suite, defines the ultimate in luxury London living and comes with your own personal butler. There is a spacious living quarter, a dining area for 16 persons, two separate bedrooms and a large terrace overlooking Hanover Square.

There are two additional terraced suites, The Berkley and The Hanover, which have been a favourite to past and present celebrities and well known patrons including Jackie Kennedy and Brigitte Bardot. Additional suites are all uniquely designed, all overlooking Bond Street and come fully equipped with separate living areas, dining rooms, cloak rooms and hall ways.

The Polo Bar, situated to the left off the lobby is renowned for its decadent cocktail list, professional knowledgeable staff and comfortable lounge style dÃ©cor and is enjoyed by many of Londonâ¬"s music and fashionable set. It serves the famous Caviar sandwich, Â£45, and black cherry lavender martini, Â£18.

Artisan, the art deco style fine dining restaurant is the latest addition to The Westbury and is headed by Executive Chef and Roux scholar, Andrew Jones. Artisan provides a unique gastronomic dining experience with dishes such as whole lobe of Vendee foie gras which serves two, medallion of monkfish, guanaja chocolate & butternut squash fondant with bourbon vanilla ice cream. I visited the Athenaeum Hotel for their afternoon pink tea for a friend's hen party recently and we had a great time! The pink theme makes it slightly different to all the other London hotel afternoon teas as you get the usual tea and cakes plus pink sweets like jelly beans, candy canes and marshmallows and a glass of pink champagne which makes it extra girly-if that's your thing of course!

The sandwiches, scones and cakes are so plentiful that you'll never want more than you can have and the staff are friendly and chatty.

The perfect place to take your Mum for an afternoon treat.

We have just returned from three days at the Chesterfield Mayfair, our second stay so far this year. It really is an excellent hotel in a great location with very pleasant, helpful staff.
We had a package deal which included tickets to the Tutankhamun exhibition with an unbelievable picnic lunch to take with us, lunch on the first day and afternoon tea on the third.

The service in the restaurant is impeccible, as is the food - don't miss lunch in Butlers.

The room was well presented and comfortable with all the small touches one would hope to find in a top London hotel.

We will be returning later in the year.

Claridge's oozes old school luxury and is a fun place to have go for tea or meet up with people.

I met there yesterday and feel compelled to share the extra-ordinary sight of their hot chocolate. Here we go:

A Claridge's hot chocolate:
- 1 jug of thick, luxurious & hot chocolate
- 1 jug of warm milk
- A skewer of lightly flame-toasted marshmallows (bit of a bonus - dip away...)
- A few delicated looking biscuits thrown in for good measure

I am not a hot-chocolate fiend but I cannot imagine a more pucca or tasty hot chocolate in London or on the ski-slopes for that matter.

Luxury doesn't come cheap though...Claridge's oozes old school luxury and is a fun place to have go for tea or meet up with people.
