I booked online for the 50% off offer. It was really useful!
The atmosphere is not great but the food and the service were really good! I had duck and my partner had the ribeye. They were well cooked and the portions were big!

Good spot this, especially as I was starting to get bored of The Prince Regent and the O Conor Don is long gone (and sadly missed).

Quite stylish and just off the beaten track. Decent pint too.

I popped into Inn 1888 to meet some mates for a pint and a lunch. Its a our usual waterhole. The decor is great and staff are friendly and accommodating. The restaurant has been revamped, and offers traditional thai cusine. The thai calamari, and if you like spice the beef salad is perfect with a pint. 5 stars for pure entertainment value as this is the global H.Q. for the Handlebar Club, the official fellowship for mega moustachioed British gentlemen.

The interior of the Windsor Castle Pub is littered with Handle Bar Club photos and memorabilia.

If you canâ¬"t grow impressive facial hair like me (I blame my poor genes and wife). I love this place. Granted, my review could be a bit skewed as it's my neighbourhood pub and a convenient place to meet friends.

BUT- even if none of these variables applied, I would still love it. With it's funky and cozy decor of mismatched, yet somehow appropriate furniture, to the d.j. spinning tunes on a Sunday while you eat your fishcakes, to the well dressed, 30-something, Marylebone gang, this place is always on the agenda.

Additionally, it has an equally cool and cosy room upstairs where you can lounge out on the sofas or hire as a private function room.

Arthur Wellesley, AKA First Duke of Wellington has very kindly given his name and blessing to the best gastro pub in Marylebone. It has only recently become a proper foodie pub in the last 6 months having previously been ideal for a lager top to get a bit of colour back in your cheeks after a game of squash. Back then it was yet another unremarkable boozer filled with old men with marriage problems and jobs they hate.

It's had a changing rooms makeover complete with an eclectic selection of trendy art. Even Shepherd Fairey makes an appearance which I am very pleased about.

They've got a chandelier dominating the ceiling that looks like it was designed by someone with a lot of mental problems and a brass plate on the door that Oli and I agreed was the kind of thing we both wanted in our kitchens. In short it's got a cool vibe that I am sure will not be to everyone's taste. Certainly it seemed a bit out of kilter with their clientelle when we were there on a quiet Monday for lunch.

Not having much time and not wanting to get so weighed down that we wouldn't be able to run back to the office through the torrential rain, we just had main courses.

Oli's quails looked well cooked - possibly a bit overdone. But I wouldn't know because the stingy git didn't offer me any. Meanwhile my rump of beef arrived beautifully rare but wasn't quite as flavoursome as I expected. Don't get me wrong it was very good and came with an interesting cafe de Paris butter topping. It just didn't wow me. Chips and salad were excellent. But we weren't offered mustard or ketchup which was disappointing. Jenny's pollack looked excellent. Moist and flaky. Just like cod really.

The chap on the next door table had steak tartare which looked really good. And judging by the way he inhaled it he must have enjoyed it! He also had some ketchup issue. If you serve chips it just makes sense to deliver mayonaise and ketchup with it.

I'm very pleased to have dipped my toe the Duke of Wellington's water and am looking forward to returning triumphantly!

And I leave you with one of my all time favourite quotations, "being born in a stable does not make one a horse". The Marleybone drag from the High Street to Oxford Street appears to blessed with an excellent number of very worthy pubs.

The Pontefract Castle is no exception, it is a converted 3 story townhouse with a very charming basement bar and attic restaurant which is accessed by a rope and rail guided spiral staircase.

We always land up in the Moose... used to be called the Camel. They must have some sort of large 4 legged animal thing going on.

The bar upstairs is fine but nothing special and the downstairs area simply offers a decent area to have a dance.

Great Sam Smiths pub with cracking beer, good cheesey chips, fun regulars and a good dart board.

South Africa meets Thailand in Marylebone...

This a favourite for anyone who likes watching sport whilst tucking into a cold pint of Fosters and a Pad Thai.

Great in the summer when the benches outside are full of people trying to avoid being in the office. And if you want to watch a bit of International Cricket it's perfect too.

Low Life - Best Cocktail Bar in Marylebone & Probably London by Browners

The guy who runs Low Life is a complete legend called James. I've never met a mixologist like him. He's inspired. He has an uncanny ability to know exactly what you want even though you haven't got a clue yourself.

You can walk in on a Thursday after a long slog at work and he will greet you with open arms and enthusiastically make you a drink he's been working on for the last 2 weeks that no one else has tried and it will be perfect.

He even invented a new way of drinking tequila which is to eat a grape before you take your shot of Sausa and then have another one after... Sauza Grapes. It makes a brilliant alternative to the ubiquitous lemon and salt.

The bar itelf is below street level with quite a few nooks and crannies. It's a great place for private parties - they serve a range of snacks and small plates of food to share.

Located just off Oxford St, it draws the kind of crowd you like to stare at what label your handbag is..
The place itself is absolutely amazing, Â£2 million was spent on the lighting, which takes 5 people to operate, the bathrooms are beautiful and overall the place is glamourous. The drinks are ridiculously overpriced - and to be honest the music is pretty cheesy.

It calls itself a private members bar/club but if you look pretty, they will let you in. The crowd is not that sophisticated although they may try to act like they are; overall I probably wouldn't bother coming here again unless you had money to burn - Located just off Oxford St, it draws the kind of crowd you like to stare at what label your handbag is..

An update on my previous review (below). The place remains very unpredictable: some nights packed with a great crowd, other nights dead. But as mentioned below, the bar stays open till 1 or 2 am. The trick is to walk around the block and enter through the hotel. The place is often open, even though it looks closed from outside. They've lost some of their friendlier staff, but the food menu is decent (sourced locally in Marylebone) and the room pleasant.

This place is newish and has been trying to drum up business by offering 2-for-1 dinner specials. The decor makes it feel a bit clubbish but it's not crowded (at least for the moment) and well lit. Think of it as a quiet, elegant spot. I've only ever tried one bit of food here - the grilled cheese - and it was more than fine. But best till last: though the restaurant closes at 11 the bar stays open till 2 am.
