The Idlewild is great: The brunch food was really good (better than Gordon Ramsey's fare at The Warwick close by), the place is cool, and the upstairs lounger is quite cool on Sundays with DJs and Jazz. One of my favourite"hidden" places in Maida

This place is great. I come here a couple of times a week. Its great for Breakfast and coffee (nice cookies on offer at the moment), a quick snack after work and getting a gut full on a friday. DJ plays once or twice a month on a friday.

I found out it had A dining room/lounge upstairs. Nice and chilled for a more intemate evening. Food wasn't bad either!

It looks really shabby from the outside but who looks after a couple!This place is great. I come here a couple of times a week. Looking for a drink close to Warwick Avenue tube, we stumbled upon the Prince Alfred and fell in love. This Grade II listed pub has a stunning interior, with five snugs breaking up the room with their carved wooden partitions and curious little doors. Loved the carved ceiling and friendly staff too.

There is a large dining area to the rear (the Formosa Dining Room) which I am sure is popular with the locals, though on this occasion we were eating elsewhere so didn't pay it much attention.

We scored a great table in one of the front snugs and enjoyed a cold one while catching up on the news of the day. I really wish the Prince Alfred was a little closer to home, but next time I am in this neck of the woods a return visit will be top of the to-do list.

A nice outdoor terrace by the water, friendly staff and music tuned up low, so you can actually have a conversation. Its a good find. This pub has 2 floors- the lower one is actually on the regent canal and it's beautiful to see the view. I had a really tasty burger and the rest of the food looks good as well.

Used to be an old Irish alcoholics pub, then the kids moved in and scared them away by snorting coke off the bar and shouting racial abuse at the barman, then they closed it, completely refurbished it, stuck two bouncers on the door so the bad people didn't come back and now it's quite nice...you know, like a typical, yet slightly trendy, local pub should be. I miss the old Irish alcoholics though. My Top Tip: eat your Sunday roast somewhere else.
