We just fell upon this restaurant (Maida Vale Tandoori) after a birthday party - it was very local to our house - What A Findâ¬¦..! I would thoroughly recommend to anybody - menu was very extensive, staff most helpful explaining some of the more unusual dishes that you dont see on a normal indian menu. Food was excellent, ambience great, staff super and price very reasonable! Hi, Customer service is atrocious & staff attitude curt, dismissive, judgemental disdainfull & any attempts at

sociable interaction will be frustrating & probably misinterpreted. Portion quality, quantity & temperature

vary radically from one visit to another. They openly discourage patronage if one comments on any slight

disatisfacion & any eloquence or attempt to be diplomatiic will be frustratingly in vain. As I entered, a suited

gentleman was leaving empty handed & annoyed & shouting vitriolic invective & citing that they were bad

muslims (they aggressively disputed this).
I think the manager needs to address issues if he wishes to ATTRACT business. When it's good,the food is

excellent, but I now continue to choose to go elsewhere unless I see staff replaced. I feel they think are

beyond comparison as thay are very cheap, but for the same price you can buy 5 times the amount & self

This place is great. I come here a couple of times a week. Its great for Breakfast and coffee (nice cookies on offer at the moment), a quick snack after work and getting a gut full on a friday. DJ plays once or twice a month on a friday.

I found out it had A dining room/lounge upstairs. Nice and chilled for a more intemate evening. Food wasn't bad either!

It looks really shabby from the outside but who looks after a couple!This place is great. I come here a couple of times a week. Family visiting from Australia wanted a Gordon Ramsay experience, but not one of the expensive ones. That meant a visit to one of his pubs was in order, and we decided on the newest one - The Warrington, in Maida Vale.

Loved the look of the downstairs bar, and the lovely tiled entrance, but as we had already had drinks at the nearby Prince Alfred, we headed straight upstairs. The dining room looked posher than I was expecting - definitely more restaurant than gastropub. Our waitress was lovely, and patient, though some of the other staff seemed pretty inexperienced.

I was disappointed that there was nothing that really appealed to me on the menu. Thankfully my dining companions were more enthused and had trouble choosing between a few dishes. In the end, they started with the Scallops with pea puree and mint vinaigrette, the Black pudding salad with poached egg and mustard dressing, and the Cured Salmon. I tasted each dish and have to say that the scallops were very good, can't remember the last time I tasted them so perfectly cooked.

For main course I stuck with my old favourite - the Ribeye steak with chips - the steak was cooked as requested and nice and flavoursome. The others had the Roasted baby chicken with traditional garnish, and the Choucroute garnie - both dishes were nicely presented and happily polished off. We opted for some old favourites for dessert - the Chocolate fondant, and the Rhubarb & apple crumble. Both were as expected, tasty.

Although we enjoyed our meal, there was something not quite right about the experience - I think it may have had to do with the fact that The Warrington is billed as a gastropub, but is more formal than that. Looking for a drink close to Warwick Avenue tube, we stumbled upon the Prince Alfred and fell in love. This Grade II listed pub has a stunning interior, with five snugs breaking up the room with their carved wooden partitions and curious little doors. Loved the carved ceiling and friendly staff too.

There is a large dining area to the rear (the Formosa Dining Room) which I am sure is popular with the locals, though on this occasion we were eating elsewhere so didn't pay it much attention.

Officially the worst indian I have had in my life. I LOVE my indian food and eating from here was the worst experience I can have. The food was tasteless, bland and boring...definitly over priced. The take away packaging looks like microwave packaging and the poppodoms had more taste then the actual food. I just spent a wonderful week in London and the cherry on the top was Tsiakkos! I spent two amazing evenings there and I highly recommend it. Great atmosphere and delicious food.I recommend the Cleftico (lamb on bone served with delicious rice)(I took the bone home to my labrador who loved it!!) great Tarama,excellent Greek salad with a very generous serving of Feta, yummy hummous. I must declare a degree of bias here as this is my local club but in the interests of balance I will try and be objective (uuurrhum).

As well a tennis, bowls and squash there is also a gymnasium, sauna and beauty therapies available.

Additional options are yoga and pilates.

The tennis courts are superior although a little open to the elements being no indoor facilities.

All standards of players are welcome and all 3 coaches are friendly, qualified and organised.

Discount membership is available to LTA 3.1=> ratings.

There is a huge indoor bowls green and an extremely well tendered outdoor green. All levels of player from all ages are welcome. You will be keeping good company as the club has produced 25 national champions and 35 internationals over the years.

Squash is just and enthusiastically pursued with ladies, mens and veterans league teams and numerous club tournaments.

Oh, did I mention that there is an excellent bar, Thai restaurant and this weeks social events include salsa dancing on Monday and the well renowned Odyssey Blues Band playing live on Friday, February the 1st, 2008.

Non members are encouraged to attend the social events and generally (unless you are a tennis, bowls, squash guest) there is no charge.

This used to be my secret place in London... very close to home, amazing food and amazingly un-Lodon-like prices. I understand management has changed but the last two times have really not been the same. They pushed me hard on a wine that was not that good, the food was good...but not as good as it used to be.

Nonetheless, still one of the great little places in Little Venice. The e bar is the basement provision of The Colonnade Townhouse (part of the Eton Connection Group) which provides superior (yet relaxed) amenities for a discerning clientele.

The service is attentive, personable and discrete in equal measures.

The proprietors of this restaurant are very friendly and helpful. We have ordered take-away or home delivery from them many times because a number of their dishes are good, inexpensive and it's nearby. You can eat in the restaurant too which is neatly kept. Our favourites are crispy chicken wings tossed with chilli, salt & pepper; crispy squid julienne; crispy aubergine; tom yam goong; fillet steak with black pepper sauce; and wok-fried beef ho-fun (flat rice noodles). There is a warm atmosphere in this restaurant probably due in large part to the attentive service from the proprietor(s) whose friendly and knowledgeable guidance about what to order are invaluable if you have never sampled Eritrean fare or even know what it is! Can't remember the names of the dishes ordered as we were a group of 10 so we ordered a couple of different dishes to share. But I do remember the yummy food came out in large platters - each had a colourful mound of meat and veg piled on top of thick spongy pancakes. To eat it the traditional way, you tear pieces of the pancake off with your fingers and use that to scoop up chunks of the meat & veg. The pancake itself has a slightly sour taste so it's not tasty on its own. Overall, it's fun to try if you've never eaten Eritrean before. Ok, to sit in this place can be quite a strange experience. The interior are bland and the atmosphere is somehow undefined... What I like about this place is that they use unique spices which you don't usually get.

This pub has 2 floors- the lower one is actually on the regent canal and it's beautiful to see the view. I had a really tasty burger and the rest of the food looks good as well.

Posh nosh. I was there 2 weeks ago. The service was horrible. I was trying to get the waiter attention for ages. They are so stressed and overworked, I honestly feel sorry for them. The food is usually good. I loved the eggs Benedict but when I had lunch and had fresh ravioli for Â£9 it was just ok- nothing special- I can do a better one...Posh nosh. I was there 2 weeks ago. Daniela's lounge is an Italian stylish looking restaurant. Many Italian macho pictures and magazines and some cosy couches. The food is good- the service can be tricky so don't go if you are in a hurry...
