I have always been told not to go here, but i had heard they have changed their image and got rid of the troublesome customers so my friends and i decided to give it a shot. We usually have a great night out in Greewich, and i'm pleased to say it was made all the more special because of St Christophers Inn. I wouldn't say it has anything to do with its religious namesake, especially after what one couple were doing in the corner!! Shocking! The music is loud and they have a really good DJ. The beer garden is cute little court yard out the back and is a great summer escape, in the winter the warm and comfy interior is still a winner. the wine is good, but the micro brewery and imported beers are the reason to go! Noodle King is really, really cheap. Unfortunately the time I went there I felt horribly ill for several hours afterwards, even though I picked out all the alarming looking defrosting shellfish out of my noodles. It's a bit like eating in a McDonalds but with less character, and everything is really greasy. It's a popular option with local kids because of the prices. They have a buffet thing going on at the back which I haven't tried, though it seems pretty popular... to be honest the 'a la carte' (ha) prices are so low that I don't think there's much difference. I would recommend this if you only had a few quid on you, aren't remotely fussy and don't get sick easily.Noodle King is really, really cheap. Normally with a local restaurant this good I'd keep quiet, but to be honest they're fully booked every night anyway so it won't make much difference! This tiny Malaysian restaurant in a grotty bit of Deptford (by Deptford Bridge DLR) serves utterly beautiful Malaysian food. Run by a couple (Ambrose and Linda) who make absolutely every visitor feel amazingly welcome (honestly, he knows most of the customers by name), the service is fab and the food is great value. I haven't managed to work my way through the whole menu yet, but standouts so far are the drunken chicken (beautifully flavoured with ginger) and the sambal dishes. The noodles and just simple things like dumplings are excellently done. Brilliant Turkish restaurant serving grills, Turkish pizzas and more. All grills are served with a huge plate of salad and tasty Turkish bread. I highly recommend the cop ÅxiÅx and the adana kofte. The lahmacun is also really taste and great value. The place is permanently busy so do book ahead. They also do a takeaway service but to be honest the eat-in experience is better (I think they put more sauces on the salads or something). Only ever had beer there so Iâ¬"m not sure about the wine list, but everything else at Meze Mangal is great â¬ highly recommended.Brilliant Turkish restaurant serving grills, Turkish pizzas and more. The Richard 1st is a charming traditional pub that prides itself on having no TV or music, just the best conversation and a beautiful back garden.

Also known locally as Tollys due to the fact that it was once owned by the Tolly Cobbald Brewery. It also still has many of its original Victorian features.

Young's brewery makes this a great ale house, and they quite often have some interesting guest ales.

I will give this one three stars, purely because it has a charm about it, tucked away off Greenwich south street is this strange, worn and tatty looking place, step inside and you are back to basics, a pub, nothing more nothing less, traditional hand pumped beers, a selection of lagers and bar snacks. I liked this place, if only for its honesty, sure everything's a little worn, but that doesn't matter, the locals love it for what it is, so why shouldn't everyone else, if you want a trendy theme pub this isn't it. What can you say about a wooden hut at the side of the road, well quire a lot actually, this place has been there for years, offering the usual bacon butty and a cup of tea by the side of the road. There are no thrills with this place, not even a toilet, it is perfectly situated opposite Greenwich park on the very busy blackheath hill. Everyone from cabbies, motorcyclists, to lorry drivers stop here, its nothing fancy, standard food, hot and cold drinks, fairly reasonable prices. Rating: 3.00I used to live around the corner from this place at one point in my life, it is a tiny little sandwich bar, offering the usual selection off fillings, the bread always seemed fresh, the place was clean and tidy, but when your this small you have to be tidy and efficient, it has a few stools and a bar to perch on in the front window, so i suppose you could call it eat in dinning. I'm a big fan of deli food i could quite easily spend my life eating nothing else, i try not to judge places too easily so i visited this place twice. It is a charming, comfortable place, offering a large selection of delicacy's the coffee was ok but seemed to be lacking something, i expected better from a place like this, the food however was absolutely delicious,but rather on the expensive side, as for the staff, well i think the girl serving me must have been having 2 off days, i say 2 because she was the same on both occasions, she always looked and acted like she was getting ready to serve the next person coming in rather than giving me all her attention while serving me. sorry to say i wont be going back, but the food is nice.I'm a big fan of deli food i could quite easily spend my life eating nothing else, i try not to judge places too easily so i visited this place twice. In this day and age of mass production and cheap imports from china, how do small manufacturing enterprises keep going, well i will tell you its something you dont get from the big players its called customer service, and this place pours it out in bucket fulls, and old family firm still going generations later, everybody should support these kind of businesses, I popped in here for the first time years ago while waiting for my washing in the launderette next door, i had a bike,i didnt want to buy anything, but i did want advise, the guy that was in there at the time stopped what he was doing came straight over, introduced himself and spent the next 20 mins chatting to me about my bike and bikes in general, never have i met anybody with more pasion for his job. Rating: 3.00Like a lot of pubs in Blackheath, this one became the in place to be at one point, on a summer evening there were hundreds of people outside, having a laugh and enjoying a drink, then someone from the councils office of lets stop the fun, showed up and put an end to all that, so the crowds of bright young things moved on to pastures new. What were you left with, well actually a pretty decent pub, not the in place to be, but decent all the same. It does a loverly pint of bodingtons, and the atmosphere is happy and relaxed,friendly bar staff.

This place has been going as long as iv'e lived in London, Im sure when Maggie goes it will have a blue plaque erected ( or at least it should) Fantastic breakfasts and hearty meat and two veg main meals, just like your mother used to make. Definitely the place to go if you have a hangover you want curing, its so hard to find anywhere nowadays that will give you more than you pay for, but Maggies is the exception with the never ending cup of tea. Not a big place, not a posh place, but good honest home cooking, this place is at the top of my greasy spoon list.

Rating: 4.00Is there really anywhere quite like Greenwich park, especially on a hot sunny day. The cafe in Greenwich Park, is situated at the top of the hill close to the observatory. It offers a decent standard of fare although at the usual tourist trap prices, it is clean and has good seating both inside and out, but i have to say, short of a cup of tea, i wouldnt really pay their prices, if i were coming to Greenwich park, i would pack myself a nice picnic and sit on the acres of grass available, save your money, until the kids pester you for an ice-cream. At one point in time i used to be a regular in this pub, i would make a nightly pilgrimage here from greenwich, alas no more, it used to be a loverly pub lots of regulars everyone knew everyone, and newcomers were always made to feel welcome, not the best range of beers in the world and god awful lager but the atmosphere more than made up for that. So what went wrong, we seemed to have a lot of different managers come into the place after our long standing Graham left. It would seem i cant submit a review without giving at least one star, believe me that is being generous. If for whatever reason you happen to be in deptford and driving down tanners hill (well it is one way now) for gods sake keep going,I would like to say i have never been in a pub as bad as this but alas i have, never the less i walked in and it was like entering a cowboy saloon where you walk in and the music stops everyone stops talking and they all look around at you, in the film you order a drink and everyone carries on what they were doing, not in here i ordered a drink and thought im going to die any moment, i have never drank a drink so fast, im sure i heard the music start again as i walked out the door.It would seem i cant submit a review without giving at least one star, believe me that is being generous. This is another in my list of nice little boozers, situated halfway down ashburnham grove, in the very posh and expensive ashburnham triangle, is this little pub, easily missed but well worth seeking out, good atmosphere, decent range of hand pulled ales, but the lager is a bit of an acquired taste, no popular brands of lager available, I would recommend this pub for one of those warm summer evenings, as there is seeting outside the front and you can sit and watch the world go by.
