I have not been here in years but remember it as being OK, but not up to some of the better Indian restaurants in South Kensington (Khan's of Kensington, Noor Jahan, Mothi Mahal, Little India, & Memories of India are ALL superior) and surrounding areas.

The thing that gets it 2 stars instead of 3 is the fact the actual TANDOORI grilled meats are average, at best.
I think if you have the word "Tandoori" in your title it should be at least slightly above average.

The Good Earth on Brompton Road remains one the better places for Chinese food in my experience.

I have only ever used this branch but if the others are similar I would say 'The Good Earth' group ia almost on a par with the 'Royal China' chain of restaurants but perhaps lacking such a large & varied menu and legendary Dim Sum.

The rice & noodles are always cooked just right and the Char siu is up there with the best I have had anywhere.
Chicken & Black Bean tends to be a little milder then I like but is still good.

Service is good and the atmosphere is pleasant.

I have used their delivery service a few times and although it takes longer to arrive (avg 45-60mins) the food was always hot enough.
That was a couple of years ago thoug as I am no longer in their delivery area.

I have been to the old Chicago Rib Shack many times, although my favourite place for BBQ Ribs in London was (now sadly defunct) a mini-chain called 'Texas Lone Star'. I preferred them because they did BEEF ribs but the pork ones were very similar to the ones served here.
On my first visit to the new location I was overjoyed to find CRS now have BEEF ribs on their menu. I was a little disappointed when they arrived because it was a measly portion for the price and fries were not included. The ribs themselves were quite good but lacked the rich & complex flavour that I remembered so fondly from 'Texas Lone Star'. Service was satisfactory on ALL levels but not outstanding in any way.
I had planned to go again, but the price kept me away somewhat AND then recently I learnt of a chain called 'Bodean's' that also do beef ribs so went there and got closer to what I was looking for at a cheaper price.
I will probably go back to CRS though at some point in the future.

Kitts - Unsafe. Sleazy not Sloaney. A 1980s cliche by tanneth

Quite simply, Kitts employs a doorman/bouncer who is dangerous, so this club is not quite what it would like us to believe it is. It isn't safe and it isn't friendly.

Its Sloane Square location might lead you to believe that it caters for a more classy clientele - but just one visit and you will see it's just as sleazy as a 1980's underworld crime den from a Martina Cole novel.

I like clubs and go out a lot, but my advice is: Don't demean yourself by waiting outside this one. Even though you're on a 'guest list' and the club's fairly empty - you'll have to wait to be scrutinised....even though you've had a brilliant night out to this point, at least one of your friends will be left feeling disappointed and devalued, and be prevented from entering (It doesn't matter if he is sober and dedicates his life to saving people during the day) .....even though under the 1975 sex discrimination act, a club has to charge the same to both men and women, the club will let women go in free but make the men pay Â£20.

So here's what happened to me on Friday:

The club closed and I went to the loo - as you do. This bouncer came by within about 30 seconds, shouting and asking me to get out. I said 'ok, just a second' but he came back to the door, seconds later (when I was out the cubicle), was extremely aggressive and then barely let me wash my hands. I asked him why he was being so aggressive towards me only when there were still so many people in the club. He just carried on shouting saying: 'They are the owners, i don't care just leave'. My husband outside the loo told him calmly that there was no need to be so harsh as we were obviously leaving and then went to wait for me outside while i was putting on my coat. Neither of us was drunk, rude or looking for a fight.

But get this!!! The doorman then pushed himself in my personal space as I was trying to put my coat on, told me to get out and shoved me!!! - This was really scary as my husband was already outside, and I had not expected violence. I am a local resident and can promise that I wasn't being slow, or an out of control aggressive drunk - I was just out late because I work late. I asked him politely and calmly why he was being so mean to me (no swearing at all!) and for a reason as to why he couldn't let me put my coat on before going outside - but I just got another shove. He then started to 'threaten' to lock the door of the club and lock me in!?? I got quite a bit scared of the unpredictable situation then.

Then...bizarrely a strange girl who witnessed the whole thing and seemed to know the bouncer's 'ways' came to my rescue and tried to say that maybe the guy was just tired and wanted to go home and urged me to leave. I left calmly, but shaken and confused about being treated this way for no reason whatsoever.

i was utterly abused and humiliated when i took my parents and sister to Mr chow in London. After fine experiences in LA and NY, i decided to try the London address a couple of weeks ago.

I never opened the menu. when the maitre d' came, i ordered crispy duck for four. The maitre d', Marcelo, said he would arrange some openers and bring my duck after that. instead, he forced 8 plates upon us, refused to take back the extra prawns and steak which i never ordered but he served nonetheless and gave me a doggy bag with my crispy duck (which i never touched, obviously).

What a disappointment, the club was very small and very crowded, we couldnâ¬"t even see the bar when we walked down to the dance floor it was so small.

The door staff we not friendly quite cocky and rude, and the music was the worse I have ever heard, I am sure Pete Tong would be quite ashamed to think he has put his name to a sound system that plays such atrocious music, who ever the DJ was I donâ¬"t know but I think I know why he is in a sort of cage that no one can get to him!!..

I am sure there are much better places to go to; luckily I didnâ¬"t pay to get in as I was kindly invited to a birthday party there.

BOTTOM LINE IS DONâ¬"T BOTHER UNLESS YOU LIKE MUSIC YOU CANâ¬"T DANCE TO, WHERE THE BEAT CHANGES EVERY 3 MINUTES! I LIKE HOUSE MUSIC LIKE HED KANDI ETC, THIS WAS PURE CHEESE.

This place could be OK but the service is appalling, the waitresses are grumpy, slow and seem to be annoyed everytime you ask for something. Furthermore, we were ordering beer and wine so thought we would like some water so we asked for some jugs of tap water - what response did we get? Sullen looks (it was Halloween but these people need not have dressed up they were scarey enough with the filthy looks they served) and a response of "we dont serve tap water", well apart from the fact that is totally unethical even though we were spending hundreds of pounds on alcohol we were refused jugs of water. We of course purchased mineral water but actually I have never been refused a glass of water in any place I have been in my lifetime so was totally shocked. These people are complete crooks and should be shut down. After an appalling experience with them recently I received a very rude message on my answerphone from them and no apology. They are dishonest, a rip off and quite how they are still trading is a mystery. PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM, they have no understanding of proper tailoring / dressmaking and no regard of how the service industry works. I've gambled in 100's of places in many countries and I have never lost so consistently and in such a incredible coincidental way. If i got 21 the dealer got a natural, If i was doubled down on 20 she got 21 etc. OK so it happens but at least 30 hands in a row for me and my friend. Its just not consistent with my experience of the past 40 years in other casinos including Monte Carlo, Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Aruba, Puerto Rico, Nassau, Paradise Island, Antigua and far too many to even remember. This unassuming little cafe just a stone's throw from South Kensington tube station offers the best and cheap crepes in London. There is an extensive range of savoury and sweet crisp crepes to choose from. My favourites are the sweet crepes - anything with Belgian chocolate folded in it! The beauty of being able to sit and eat at this cafe is that the crepe won't get soggy at the end which it does if you buy from a stall and eat standing. SPaghetti house is one of my favourite places to eat in London. Reasonably priced, really tasty and a really nice atmosphere. Review for: 123 Buckingham Palace Road, Victoria London, SW1W 9SR. The one in the building next to Vitoria Coach station. Around 6.30pm on 11/07/09.

Riduculous and rude staff. Went in and stood there waiting for 15 plus minutes just to get a ham sub. It wasn't crowded. I was already being served but they prefered to chat away and leave the sandwich there waiting and serve someone else behind me rather than finish making it and giving it to me first. I have to repeat myself like 3-4 times each time because they were NEVER paying attention. Preffered bitching about the previous customers rather than making the sandwich. Gave an attitude to the customer before me just because he asked him to pack his foot long sandwich into 2 seperate bags so he can have the second one later. After that he stood there ranting and complaining to his partner about it which was irritating. He would ask a question like "What bread?" I would say "Honey Oat" But when i said that he was talking again to his partner then he asked me again... TWICE! I had to answer him twice for every question he asked cause he wasn't friggin paying attention. When I complained to him he said I was impatient and I have a lot of knowledge compared to him at making subways cause he had 4 yrs. I was questioning 4 years of experience. Well, all I have to say is, I never knew it took four years to learn to make a sandwich. WOW! I love subway honestly I do. Never met a worker as rude as him before. Hope he wins the best sandwich award with his 4 years experience!

Racine Restaurant - Great French Inspired Bourgeois Cooking by gastro1

Henry Harris is back as Chef Patron at Racine after a shortish stint as Executive Chef of the Soho House Group. I have eaten Henry's fine Bourgeois cooking for more years than I care to count going back to Hilare, Bibendum and 5h Floor at Harvey Nicholls.

It turns out that Henry also knows and worked with one of my best friends from University at The Old Ship in Brighton many moons ago. Strangely all this became apparent when Henry and I engaged on Twitter in a discussion on La Meranda in Nice.

Racine reminds me of several Paris restaurants that now fall into the category with a delightful room that has a wood floor, brown leather banquettes with mirrors above them and pale yellow walls.

Racine though is really about the food and as you can imagine when the Chef Patron has spent his formative years working with Simon Hopkinson you are most likely to be guaranteed well executed classic Bourgeois cooking.

John, Henryâ¬"s old colleague from Brighton and I had an exemplary lunch on Friday July 3rd 2009. The food and service was really top notch and as it turns out it was Henryâ¬"s last service before a well-earned holiday.

We were greeted by Henry who gave us some of his own home made delightful cured middle white proscuito .

I strated with Smoked duck, French bean and girolle salad which was really very good indeed. The beans were perfectly cooked â¬Sal denteâ¬ and the duck was succulent with the delightful small girolles complimenting the ensemble of ingredients.

John was delighted with his Lincolnshire smoked eel, salmon roe, watercress and horseradish salad.

To follow I had Filet au poivre made with a lovely piece of well hung Filet served with hand cut chips and simple mixed leaf salad. The sauce presumably made with a veal stock reduction was really delicious and worked well with the tenderest but not necessarily the most flavorful cut of beef.

John said his Breast of guinea fowl, peas, broad beans and tarragon was really outstanding.

Racine is a delightful restaurant with excellent service providing very good and well executed Bourgeois cooking based on well selected ingredients from top suppliers.

Henry Harris is back as Chef Patron at Racine after a shortish stint as Executive Chef of the Soho House Group. I have eaten Henry's fine Bourgeois cooking for more years than I care to count going back to Hilare, Bibendum and 5h Floor at Harvey Nicholls.

It turns out that Henry also knows and worked with one of my best friends from University at The Old Ship in Brighton many moons ago. Strangely all this became apparent when Henry and I engaged on Twitter in a discussion on La Meranda in Nice.

Racine reminds me of several Paris restaurants that now fall into the category with a delightful room that has a wood floor, brown leather banquettes with mirrors above them and pale yellow walls.

Racine though is really about the food and as you can imagine when the Chef Patron has spent his formative years working with Simon Hopkinson you are most likely to be guaranteed well executed classic Bourgeois cooking.

John, Henryâ¬"s old colleague from Brighton and I had an exemplary lunch on Friday July 3rd 2009. The food and service was really top notch and as it turns out it was Henryâ¬"s last service before a well-earned holiday.

We were greeted by Henry who gave us some of his own home made delightful cured middle white proscuito .

I strated with Smoked duck, French bean and girolle salad which was really very good indeed. The beans were perfectly cooked â¬Sal denteâ¬ and the duck was succulent with the delightful small girolles complimenting the ensemble of ingredients.

John was delighted with his Lincolnshire smoked eel, salmon roe, watercress and horseradish salad.

To follow I had Filet au poivre made with a lovely piece of well hung Filet served with hand cut chips and simple mixed leaf salad. The sauce presumably made with a veal stock reduction was really delicious and worked well with the tenderest but not necessarily the most flavorful cut of beef.

John said his Breast of guinea fowl, peas, broad beans and tarragon was really outstanding.

Had to drop a quick note ... we moved house 6 months ago and discovered "LB's" when starting to re-decorate and have since become regular shoppers. It's made re-decoration much easier for us. We have found the staff to be very friendly, they even look things out for us now that they have to come know us. This is one of my favourites. What can be better than a Scottish whisky and cigar bar? Well this place also has great Jazz and excellent food. You can either eat in the fairly pricey, but worth it, restaurant. Or you can eat from the bar menu (there are actually two bars here. One is like a mini pub?).
I have to say that I have eaten and tried a lot of burgers in my life, but the truffle burger served at the bar here, is no less than "the greatest burger in the world" (assuming you like truffle!). The restaurant has never disappointed me, serving excellent food to the highest standards.
For the smokers amongst you, since the ban, they have created an upstairs terrace which is great...even in winter!
If you arrive later or stay later, they do often require a payment for the band. The Jazz is often extremely good and enjoyable and inishes the evening nicely.This is one of my favourites.
