Cafe Plus - Fantastic, friendly, fast, reasonable breakfast by rodomel

Really great find in the neighborhood, as I am new to the area and while I love the posh, I appreciate the simple. There are tons of great restaurants in West Hampstead West End Lane, but sometimes it is nice to simply eat a great, English breakfast fry-up in a clean and relaxed environment. And that is what you can find at the Plus Cafe... great food *typical sandwiches, pies, and such), simple ingredients, and very friendly staff (I always get a good-bye).

The cafe and restaurant is small, but there is a great back room where I tend to plunk down for hours on end. Since I work from home it is nice to have a cafe where i can have a cuppa but also get breakfast and lunch. Why am I here so much? Free Wi-Fi... if you are a trusted regular, the owner will share the password (actually, she saw me using my computer during my visits and she offered it) - now that is what I call service. Also, if work gets a bit stressful, I can also get a glass of wine or grab a beer as they are fully licensed.

What is not to like about a cafe that serves *massive* pieces of cake? We are talking about slices that are so decadently large, you feel naughty just by looking at them. Well, you knew there had to be a catch. It's not the most delicious tasting cake in the world.

Between my friend's double-chocolate cake that didn't taste chocolaty, the free piece of carrot cake that was given to me (you've got to love middle-eastern hospitality), and my own choice of chocolate cheesecake, mine was the only one which I considered to be worth the three hours I would have to spend in the gym to make up for it.

Quiet and ambient place to come for a coffee or light snack. Not over pretentious as some others shops in the area so would recomment coming down and trying it out. The only negative is that friendly service is hit and miss, often the waitresses forget to smile. But then again this is London. Quiet and ambient place to come for a coffee or light snack. Unfortunately there isn't many places on Kilburn High Road where you can get a good cup of coffee. Caffe Nero is my favourite coffee chain as Starbucks is crap and Costas Coffee is ok. However what I like about the Caffe Nero are the comfy leather sofas and especially there wi-fi deal. With Caffe Nero you pay about £5 to get wifi access for the whole day across any Caffe Nero. This is a great deal as most other wifi suppliers will charge you £4.50 an hour, which is a total rip off!!! Caffe Nero has good muffins, croissants, and their paninis are ok.
