I have not been here in years but remember it as being OK, but not up to some of the better Indian restaurants in South Kensington (Khan's of Kensington, Noor Jahan, Mothi Mahal, Little India, & Memories of India are ALL superior) and surrounding areas.

The thing that gets it 2 stars instead of 3 is the fact the actual TANDOORI grilled meats are average, at best.
I think if you have the word "Tandoori" in your title it should be at least slightly above average.

'Mr Wing' is the ONLY Chinese restaurant worth visiting in Earl's Court.

The food is on a par with 'The Good Earth' & 'Royal China' restaurants with a character all of its own.

It is fairly expensive and you are paying for the atmosphere and decorations such as the waterfall but for a treat it is worth.
You could always take-away your favourite dishes as, trust me, they will be easily better than their local competitors.
They also deliver via 'Room Service' for an addtional fee.

I went here after being informed 'No. 10' was a decent Chinese restaurant of the few scattered around Earl's Court.

I found it disappointing as it was closer to the inferior quality places in Chinatown for food.
The Char Siu was fatty and had an unpleasant aftertaste (not MSG!) and the rice & noodles were merely adequete.

The atmosphere inside is very nice and relxed and service is commendable. I really wish the food was up to standard as I liked everything else.

I was hoping my first visit was a bad day but a subsequent take-away of different dishes was just as lacklustre.

The prices are more expensive then most of the chinese cheapies in Earl's Court and the place itself is pleasant but the food is sadly the same.

I have been to the Queensway 'Royal China' many times over many years.

It is really the best Chinese restaurant in the area overall after trying most of the others.
The Dim Sum is so well known for being among London's best I will not go on other than to say get here EARLY!

The menu is large and varied so even fussy eaters should find something to their liking.
It is nearly always busy but the staff do their best in an efficient but not necessarily friendly manner.

If you are in the area and chinese is on your mind - 'Royal China' should be your first choice.

The 'Mandarin Kitchen' is opposite my favourite Chinese restaurant in the area, 'Royal China'.
I think BOTH are among the best in London and easily surpass the many others in Queensway.

The Seafood is the reason to go here instead of 'Royal China' in my opinion. I have had lobster on a number of occasions and have always been impressed.

The service is good, the ambience is generally busy.
If you are in the area and are in the mood for chinese seafood this is a great option.

The hotel is in a very beutiful area, within easy reach of 2 metro stations, the Earl's Court and the Gloucester Road. It's managed by affable and helpful people, The rooms are not so big but very comfortable and have all you need, even the phon and the iron with its ironing board! The cost for a day is not very expensive comparative to other hotels (also in worse areas),

WE chose to have our Valentine's meal here due to the beautiful interior and the set menu on offer looked great. On arrival we entered the bar, which was beautiful, shame about a lack of seating. However the meal itself was fantastic. I had raw oysters with an onion relish to start which were beautifully fresh, and my partner had a fillet of beef for the main which was not only a lovely peice of meat but also perfectly cooked. I would definitely praise the freshness of their ingredients and delicacy of flavours. Overall it was a perfect evening however at a pretty hefty price. Also a shame that the bar is full of young 'daddy funds my lifestyle' ponce's. The food was reasonably good in this Persian restaurant, but the service was appalling. It completely ruined our meal. The waiting staff could not pronounce the names of the dishes, and referred to them by number (this is not acceptable in a restaurant). They made numerous mistakes with our order and the mishandling of the serving of our starters resulted in some of our party being served their main courses as others were being served their starters. And as some of our party were finished before others as a consequence, the table was stripped making my friends who were still eating feel like they needed to cling onto their plates out of fear they would also be whisked away from under their noses. This is not a comfortable way to enjoy a meal. At the end, we were overcharged. There seemed to be a veritable army of staff standing along a wall laughing and gossiping, but not at all paying attention to the diners. The staff are badly trained and badly managed. I have been a regular at Balans for many years. Have always been content with the food and service. However, last time I visited, things were very different.
I ordered the steak (medium) and my wife went for roasted cod. Sunday, lunchtime, understandably slower service, nothing unusual, no complaints at all.
Mains arrived, no suspicions, food have always been good. It took a couple of minutes to realise that my steak was drowning in blood and completely raw at some parts and my wife's cod was uncooked and again, unedible.
Being a fool, I opted to finish the side dishes and ask for the bill and leave. I could not help myself not to mention my discomfort to the waiter who brought me the bill. He asked if I had complained to the waitress. No, I did not, 'they there is not much we can do' - he replied and charged my card Â£54. At that moment I felt humiliated and thought I should have behaved like an idiot and make a scene.
I am just not a kind of person who enjoys to complain about bad food or service, rather keep it to myself and widthdraw the conclusions. I have been coming here for over 20 years. These guys certainly know their business!

When I first came to Bosphorus they did not have the huge selection they have now (various kofte, various chicken, spicy shish, saddle chops, lamb burger, different mixes etc.) but their Doner, Kofte & especially Shish were better than any other kebabs I had tasted in Central London.

They are the Gold standard by which I judge other Kebabs. In recent years their Chilli Sauce has become thinner in consistency but having a Spicy Shish (marinated in a thick red glaze) is my answer. ALL the kebabs are less fatty tasting then the average kebab shop and the Shish is lean, tasty & fairly tender. Another "new" feature of recent years is serving the kebab in foil containers with the Pitta on the side - I am not the only one who prefers it the old way of everything wrapped in the bread, so remember to say how you like it as the regulars do.

Good service - even for those who arent locals. There is not a lot of Kebab shops in South Kensington, (a Lebanese Schwarma chain (Maroush/Ranoush) has just opened a 'Beirut Express' 4 doors down though!) but this place serves the area just fine.

1st Class kebab house!

There are actually 2 Best Mangals - both on North End Road and I have been to both many times. It has a huge Ockabasi (SP?) a traditional Turkish BBQ/Charcoal grill and the meat comes out better than any other kebab I have tasted in the UK. A wonderful smokey flavour. Their Lamb Cop Sis (Chop Shish) is my favourite with smaller cubes, they also have regular shish, but I have tried nearly all the range at different times.

The Doner is more like a Lebanese schwarma, fresh cuts of meat on the upright grill as opposed to a minced meat mis-match and is truly superior to 95% of doner in London. Kofte is not a fave of mine but if you like a smokey and herby "sausage" of a kebab then you are in for a treat. The lamb chops and lamb spare ribs are excellent as well. Chicken shish is smokey and top notch. All in all for the meat my 10/10 score is no exaggeration - you will not find better, period.
Chilli sauce is good but not always consistent in heat. Sometimes it blows my head off and other times it is not hot enough yet I always have the same amount. Garlic sauce is just fine. The bread is unusual in that it is not Pitta but freshly baked "Village Bread" which is more akin to a huge chapati or tortilla and somewhat "floury". It is worth trying but I sometimes go elsewhere just because I miss a regular pitta kebab. They also do a thick "Nan" type bread but it does not fold enough to roll around the kebab. If they did pittas as well I would never go anywhere else. Prices are not cheap at Â£5.50 for my fave chop shish (Â£5 for Lamb donner) but portions are generous and quality is far above most Kebab places so it is not overpriced for take away. If you eat in or have a doner with rice prices are more.

I no longer live in the area but go back fairly regularly for a take away shish.

When I lived in the Borough of Kensington this place was a second rate Fish & Chips shop called 'Seasons'.

For some reason they have left the sign up but nevertheless it is now definitely a Lebanese joint called 'Felfela'.
They still do Fish & Chips (which I am told are actually WORSE than before) and all the usual suspects including Burgers, Pizza, Jacket Potatoes, All Day English Breakfast etc. as well as Lebanese food. It has been a long time since I have had a GOOD shawarma and the Lamb & Chicken spits looked tempting from the window so I walked inside.

A lamb, chicken or mixed "Shawerma" (their spelling) costs Â£3.95 and I opted for the mix to try both meats. The Lamb was rather fatty but well spiced and the chicken was also overly greasy. The quality of the meats was inferior to most Lebanese outlets I have encountered but at least it was better than the dried up rubbish that the once great 'Elias' in Chiswick now serve. The bread was fine. The salad was poor with the lettuce particularly limp, obviously not fresh. I asked for Chilli AND Garlic sauces but could only taste garlic, which was a typical one of the Lebanese style.
Service was fast & attentive but the servers seemed unhappy with their lot.

Went to this new skincare spa the other day. Was just browsing but met a very nice assistant who offered me some samples. Could not help myself but go back the next day because I tried their Replenishing Moisturiser and my skin felt so soft and smooth. Was getting my friend to feel my face! I just had to get the product! Apart from selling their own brand of skincare products, they also do facials and massages.Went to this new skincare spa the other day. I used to qork in the area a few years ago and went sometimes. Then it was a Thai place and, although nice, was a little dingey. It's recently been taken over by new owners and revamped and it is wonderful! Can't recommend the place more: friendly atmosphere without being too invasive, jukebox, live music, good beer! I've travelled around quite a bit and I've had a lot of Greek food and this is by far the best Greek restaurant I've been to. The one place I've never visited is Greece and I suspect that the only place I would top this food is in Greece. I recommend this place to everyone I know that visits London. This place skips the cheap adolescent hype that others bring in to replace what their food lacks and what you get is an honest, authentic dish that is nothing more or less than some of the best Greek food out there.
